Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal had the difficult task of following up upon on the success of Ratchet and Clank 2, which is one of my favorite games. What did you think of rift apart? I can't tell if I'm just that much more cynical or if the whole cinematic feel the game has gone with since PS3 has it just too far from what it started. Also the characters and story have become way too soft. Quark was a clever evil idiot in the first two games, which helped make 2's story the best imo. But ratchet and the others in the latest games juat seem like you'd poke them and they'd come with with some corny line or just cry. Is it just expected to be this soft on kids these days? Bye bye clever writing. Nafarious wasn't too bad but is still a pretty cliche character, another reason I give 2's story with surprise at the end extra points. Drek was meh.

    I wonder how the three galaxies interact, we have the Solana galaxy where he came from, the Bogon galaxy where he got kidnapped, and the Polaris galaxy in R&C: future. In the first cutscene in ratchet 3, it has breaking news for a planet Veldin which is in the SOLANA GALAXY, why would Bogon broadcast that? Same with secret agent clank: Holostar Studios needed clank while the duo are on a mission, so Clank either had to go back to the Bogon galaxy to produce the movie, or he had to go back to Solana which he complained about and quote "But Veldin is in the Solana galaxy!" There's no way Secret Agent clank could be made, unless there were two studios, who produced Clanks movie. Clank and Ratchet's relations in Solana would've been impossible while they were on Bogon, period. Sorry for long comment.

    Well look at it this way...its so easy to travel to different planets that a galaxy might very be the equivalent of a country. An while living in one country news and other media are broadcast across others. It was confirmed that in GC ratchett and clank watched the series behind the hero while travelling in GC and that was a Solana show. If ratchet and clank had a channel fir Solana then it make sense that an emergency broadcast would disrupt.

    @@rushalias8511 okay the broadcast makes sense I guess but what about travel? Ratchet used his untested gravometric warp drive to drive to Veldin, and was also used to get back to Starship phoenix when it was being attacked. I'm guessing it doesn't have many uses left, it's a six-way screw that he just threw in there. Now. Holostar studios... Where is it? Bogon or Solana. How is secret agent clank so popular in another galaxy? I wonder. Thank you guys for the feedback

  • @rushalias8511

    @rushalias8511

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@onedova2298 Holostar studios doesn't need to be located in any one place. For all we know it can be stationed in multiple areas like or at the very least there are different places to go film with only the director and crew being needed. Looking back at the sequence in games the director called around the missions for aquatos/tyrannosis which is 3/4 missions after the start of the game and at least 3 missions before the studio appears. So the director could have been on his way during the time and made the plans in advance. The warping is also explained looking at uya and gc intro. In GC when Fizwidget calls Ratchet he asks for their help saying they duo was on a ship heading to Bogon and how during the trip Ratchet would have 2 weeks to train to improve himself. In uya he uses the warp drive to instantly teleport them back to solana during the invasion. Travelling between galaxies seem to be like taking a cruise given the distance, you can either teleport which is like flying a plane or drive the long way as if its a boat. And secret agent clank being popular isn't exactly surprising I mean look at the bulk of Japanese media that became popular elsewhere from Mario, to pokemon to various other anime and games. Clank and Ratchet were already somewhat famous due to their reputation defeating drek and while said reputation did wane a bit Clank did regain most it from Secret agent clank. Similar to how Qwark apparently also had a reputation as a hero

It kind of stays at the Polaris galaxy after everything, when that happens, behind the hero and secret agent clank is kind of... Forgotten, somehow captain qwark tagged along, and finally Dr. Nefarious happens to just float to Polaris, I don't know how age works in this universe. But maybe that can lead to another video. Ratchet & Clank Up Your Arsenal has the best weapon selection, but I also think it has the least interesting of the 3 games if we're only counting the brand new weapons. The Rift Inducer is the only new weapon that really stood out to me..the rest were just copies of Going Commando weapons, and the weapons from the previous 2 games are the biggest highlights, mainly the Going Commando weapons. I like how you expressed your excitement to get the Bouncer back in this game, it doesn't stop there, the Plasma Coil is next then the Shield Charger, those weapons are just as addicting to use. But for that reason, and the more explorable level designs, I prefer Going Commando over Up Your Arsenal.

    My favorite will always be the original game because of how much I love the style it had (in terms of story, character designs, planet designs and music), but man, the third game sure gives it one hell of a run for its money, I got R&C 3 right after R&C 1 (maybe this plays a major factor as to why I prefer them both so much over the second game) and I instantly fell in love with it, unlike the first game, where it was an adventure into the unknown for me and I had to learn to love it as I was approaching the later half of it, I think in general the first 4 games of this series are absolutely brilliant, each of them has very obvious strengths, they also have some weaknesses, but thankfully each entry covers for the other, also, I think your comparison of R&C to Crash Bandicoot in terms of how each series evolved is spot on, Crash 3, just like R&C3 is the ultimate experience of the series imo.

    It's been years since I last replayed this game and it was my favorite of all time for a good chunk of my life. The last time I played I remember not having as much fun as when I was a kid because the game was too easy with all the broken weapons and armor. Recently I started a new playthrough but with a self-imposed challenge of not buying armor, it was great. It really changes how you approach each level and halfway through the story it gets really hard. Highly recommend this challenge to anyone wanting to spice up this game.

My index finger helped my thumb handle the thumb stick by having the index move the stick down and the thumb would move it up. And normally my middle finger was just there in a hook. ratchet 3 is in my opinion the best ratchet & clank game on ps2 and one of the best games of all time this game is just the holy grail of the ps2 and a must own game on ps2 owners after watching "the golden bolt" retrospactive i really respect insomniac for making this game, they really work hard in this game so much they lost a lot of team members for high impact games and they scared to make this game the worst game in insomniac history. i got a lot of memories from this game this is the only ratchet game from the ps2 era titles i completed 100% and i got a multi-tap just because me and my friends play a lot of the multiplayer. as a ratchet & clank fan it used to be my favorite game in the franchise but its still in my top 3 ratchet & clank games, rift apart is number 2 just because its the game thats make me happy to be a ratchet & clank fan after all the horrible ps4 movie tie-in game and my favorite in the franchise is tools of destruction and thats because its the game thats make me stay on team playstation after most of my favorite franchises from ps1 & ps2 turn to multi-platform titles on xbox 360.

The challenge roster isn't as big as either ones from R&C2 but it does have a few of them. As the large majority of the arena challenges got dumped in AA instead. Which you go to a few times in the story. Helga tells you about it after you escort Quark to his holding pen.

    I just recently got into the Ratchet series. Well, that's a hollow lie, actually I first played Ratchet 1 in 2015 and completed it in early 2016 (the PS3 version. I know, I know.). I started Ratchet 2, but quickly put it down though I did note that it was improved over the original. Recently I replayed Ratchet 1 and even Platinum'd it and went for Ratchet 2. While the gameplay improvements were hard not to notice, I wasn't so keen on the story, it didn't feel as well done as in Ratchet 1 and after I beat 2, I decided not to go for its platinum trophy and contemplated just stopping there and playing Ratchet 3 some other time. I'm sure glad I didn't. Ratchet 3 is just so unbelievably freaking good and I'm saying that as a person who has less than zero nostalgia for it. The gameplay? Great. The story? Gives us memorable characters and hilarious moments. The missions and the pacing? SO well done. I enjoyed my time with Ratchet 1 well enough and recognized it as a good game, but that was about it. I recognized the gameplay improvements in Ratchet 2, but thought the story was a bit of a letdown (Ratchet's writing in particular). Ratchet 3? Yeah, I think I'm becoming a fan of the series now. I'll definitely be picking up Deadlocked and the PS3 titles, that's for certain.

    The fact that this game also had the balls to tackle issues like racial prejudice is just another reason to love it. I mean, think about it. It's implied by Nefarious that robots are the oppressed minority in this universe and he wants revenge on the "squishies" (a possible racial slur) for the mistreatment of his race. Yet ironically, by doing this, he only comes off as a prejudiced hypocrite. Maybe I'm digging too deep, but damn. There's a reason why these games are still considered relevant to this day. The mature undertones go way deeper than the sexual innuendos.
