    Very well said. My cousins and I last spoke at my grandmothers funeral… before that we used to meet a her house once a month. Never realized she was the person bringing us all together until after she died. I miss her so much.

    I lost my grandmother in 1995 and it hurts still to this day. I'm 56 years old now, I was her favorite and she was my surrogate mother. I always admired the Queen and she always reminded me of my grandmother who I hold so dear to my heart. There isn't a day that goes by (especially Xmas) that I miss her so much. Rest easy Elizabeth. May god keep you safe.

    I feel you very much, losing a grandmother it’s like losing your whole world..some grandmas are like mom. I lost mine in 2010 and there’s no day that I think about her. I’m deeply sad that we lost queen Elizabeth

    @@douglasgui892 oh my god... me too Douglas 😭😭 my mother started to slip away from us with bipolar and psychosis, paranoia issues by the time I was an early teen. My grandmother was a support until she herself died when I was 15. I was lost without her because dad wasn't in my life then. Hope you are well my kindred friend ❤

    One of mine died a month before I was born, so I only ever had one and I lost her at 11 as well. It’s strange, I can still remember how soft her skin was, how it felt to hug her, her powdery scent. A good grandma (or mam-maw, in my case) who you know loves you SO much, is a wonderful gift, a real blessing. It’s sad we only get them for a short time, but at least we had them.

    I lost both of my grandma’s only 9 months apart. My Grams & Queen Elizabeth II were a year apart in age. I was so lucky to have my grandparents in my life, all 4 of them. How special was it for her great-grandchildren to have lasting memories of her.

    My grandma taught me to play cards too & used to play w us grandkids. That story just personifies how deep down, all families are the same. After my grandmothers had passed, I even started looking to the Queen as a grandma figure cause she resembled one of my grandmas. I may be American, but Im going to miss her as if she was my sovereign.

    Haven, what you say is so true. Some of the comments I've read sound so heartless and hateful. She wasn't perfect, but then who is? She adored her family and they adored her. The only issue I ever had with her was her treatment of Diana because Diana was an amazing person

    @@bobblue_west I realize that, but was commenting on the queen. I can't stand Charles, and neither can most people in the UK. Mainly because of his treatment of Diana, which was horrible. They're also afraid he will cause much damage to the monarchy. Hopefully, he won't live to be 96 so Prince William can take the throne soon. He and Kate are truly amazing people. Charles and Camilla are not worthy of being King and Queen Consort. Unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth refused to pass over Charles.

    Her Majesty undertook her final duty a mere 48 hours before she died. From the age of 25, when she became Queen until the age of 96, she served her Nation. A truly amazing lifetime of duty. Her rest is well earned. I am happy for her that her "end of life" was swift. The gates of Heaven swung open to welcome her.

    I don’t know why, but the Queen Elizabeth is always special for me,too. I miss her charming smile a lot. However, the double rainbows means everything. Now we know she is happy again with her dear one, Duke of Edinburgh.

    I know that I saw an interview with someone that said there was only ever Philip for her and when he died I broke my heart for her and at least she'll get to be with him again and that's wonderful she get to be with her father also when she left him very much and her mother but the world definitely lost and incredible human being

    I have to say , I always admired her sence of style. Even in her "golden years" she always looked very classy and well put together.     not having a grandmother is very painful,i lost my grandmother last year ,we were not as close as she was with my cousin but we were close,I didn't realize it that time how much bond we shared now I miss her everyday and can't do anything about it..but whenever I saw queen Elizabeth and harry together it made me smile...thank you for that ....long live the queen's legacy..

    @@danquam4 Dan there is hard evidence of how caring the Queen has been throughout her life. It was not her fault she was born into royalty. On the other hand there is not one single shred of evidence that your Jesus actually existed in real life, so any imaginary traits that you attribute to him are very shallow and incomparable. Indoctrination is carried out by all religions but recognising it from within is very difficult but you should try it.

    I love her. I lost both my nanny’s in 1987 & 1990. I remember my mum and dad being bereft with sadness. I miss that special bond you have with a grandparent but I see that bond again between my mum and my son and i love it.

    One word: Grenfell tower. As an American I was absolutely floored when watching the Queen personally reach out to the victims families at the time of the tragedy, she was literally there holding hands to give hope to these people. I haven't seen a president do this in my lifetime 😔

    I remember a video of President Obama comforting a crying baby, and also recognzing when a pregnant bystander was about to faint and he stopped his speech to get her some help! Certainly you'd never see such a thing with your previous president who shall remain un-named, you know... the one who was only good for fomenting hatred and violence.

    I know that many children out there have "tea parties" with their grandmothers, well I wonder how many of them can say that their tea parties were full British High Tea. I remember hearing that when Prince Andrew's daughters were little that they would have tea parties with the Queen that were full British High Tea, that included dressing up and everything that goes with High Tea.

    my dad who past 2 years ago worked for 50 years in the NHS, in a very historic central london hospital. He was'nt high up , just helping the place run,but he had a cermonial role, known as a Beadle, he would wear a medieval robe and a carry a long staff. He would everyso often escort the Queen , Princess DI around the hospital. We have many a photo of my Dad, a working-class man, with the Queen, due to this he also once was invited to a Tea party at Buckingham Palace, still have the invite.

    Many of us have British roots. My grandmother's family came to the US from England. She was into everything about the royal family. On the other hand, my father didn't think much of them an had he lived back in time, the Brits would have sent him to Australia!

    I live in the states and I feel like I lost my grandmother today like clean even though we're not part of the Commonwealth was still Our Queen and maybe if she would have been Queen back then we wouldn't have separated from England and she just showed so much poison grace and beauty and for any woman in the world to come to the throne at the time she did and do the things she's done and stand tall and not back down from all these men who saw women as inferior I mean even just her driving around the Saudi king cousin her and his country women can't drive so she drove him around it was kind of like a f you you're in my country and we do let women drive and they can drive and it's not going to end the world it was just her way of being like drop the mic bam cool Collective beautiful woman and it's heartbreaking that she's gone because there won't be a lot of women like her she is an amazing woman that we should all be grateful that we were alive at a time she was

    Of course she learnt her driving skills in World War II, when she drove ambulances in London during the Blitz, at great personal risk to herself, and against her father's wishes. So, once she got the Saudi King in the car with her, she gave him a wild ride, showing off all her driving skills. Apparently he was suitably intimidated.... :-)
