I commented on one of the youtube shorts which compared k-beauty &styles from different countries in which I stated that I never saw any k-drma or idols without pale/fair skin which definitely restricts diversity and pure talents too which don't come in limelight due to such toxicity.Lots of support gained from different PPL and response but in end my comment is reported and removed 😂.Social media is helping to spread these toxic topics so we have to use social media as a defensive tool too. These kinds of topics needs to be addressed .

I married an American born Korean guy who was raised like Korean born ppl. It was shocking the amount of rudeness I received being Eskimo/Chinese, but looking more like Eskimo, the Koreans didn't know what a Eskimo was, so we're a bit more friendly until they found out I was married to a Ethnic Korean. His mother and father were wonderful. I have face tattoos that are usually covered by makeup. The first time my mother-in-law saw them, she was shocked, but when my husband explained they were cultural, she was very accepting of it. One day, I thought only family was home, so I didn't put makeup on yet. There was a friend of my MIL there, and she started to make really rude remarks about me and my tattoos, I started to apologize to MIL, but she told her friend that it wasn't her business and if she heard any gossip against me, there would be hell to pay. I lost my husband in 2020, and his mother has been a lifeline for me and our twins born a few hours after my loves death. She was shocked but so happy when I asked if they could come stay with her a few months a year because of my work. She now travels to and from Korea with my boys just so I can have them around me daily. There's not a selfish bone in her body. She was born and raised in Korea during the war.

Err... as a Korean, I know we have a whole bunch of stupid racist people, but the cabbage story is utterly unreliable. That would never ever happen in Korea. At least, that must be extremely rare. That's quite a TV news story. The whole social media would have flipped out like crazy just like it did when a video of a South East Asian wife getting beaten by a Korean husband was uploaded on social media. (Thank god she recorded this, and obviously, the husband was punished for this) South Korea is one of the least violent countries overall, and I haven't heard of one single foreigner who experienced physical violence in Korea. However I can slightly related to rude old people in public transport. Some old women push you roughly when you're in their way, and one woman literally tapped my head several times with her bag when I was sitting and she couldn't find a seat. And again, I am a South Korean who is very much South-Korean looking.

Things should change as globalization increases. Maybe it won’t happen in our lifetime, but it’d be great to see all the Asian neighbors genuinely getting along w/ one another. In the states, most of us stick together and help each other out since our cultural and family structures and values are pretty similar (despite our ethnic backgrounds). These two guys constantly criticize Korea and praise Japan, criticize Korea and praise China. Very familiar patterns... They are always eager to criticize Korea on the Internet. how pathetic.. The Chinese and Japanese have a history of harassing Korea, but they do not know how to reflect on their past and are very jealous of Korea. Chinese and Japanese may not even know how to criticize their country. Because they are very deeply addicted to national supremacy. No matter how self-critical Koreans are, they laugh out loud when they are told that China and Japan are better than Korea. I can write an essay about Chinese racism and Japanese racism. Unlike Korea, Chinese and Japanese have lived with other people for a long time, but discrimination is still common. Koreans are at least naive and ignorant.. You guys are just evil.

So the decent looking guy tricks the women and her family into thinking he's marrying her and when she's in their country she'll find out that the person she's actually marrying is someone else. Maybe an uncle, cousin, or whatever. Those people might have disabilities or something that they can't get a wife or no one wants to marry them. So they trick the girl to come to their country to marry them. And they will make the women work for them as free labour. And she has no way to escape cause they will confiscate her passport, documents and stuff. I was told this women started to behave so they relaxed their guard on her. And after a few years, she used the excuse of visiting family to go back to vietnam and ran away when she's back to vietnam.

You guys are mostly lowly migrant workers, housemaids. And don't go out in the sun so much, you look so horrible when your skin is getting even more darker. No man will ever choose your people over my people. Men will always prefer Koreans, Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese, over your people. You can understand why. This may hurt, but this is a fact." I was so dumbfounded and confused, I stupidly just walked away and did not even defend myself. I left the house to the uni, and I sat down alone for an hour, before I can compose myself and sent her a text saying that what she said is truly hurtful and that I will not take any more disrespect she spewed. She replied: "I'm only stating the truth, but I can see why the truth is hurtful for you." At that time, I was already battling severe depression, still I managed to complete my master's degree on time, receiving an academic medal as the graduate with the highest grade in my cohort. She was struggling so much with her study, but she was still an evil soul to everyone. I have a personal story that go like this: When Covid-19 hit our country, coming from one of the foreigner tourists, it was chaos back then. I, as a medic, and as a part of a pandemic-control group, was sent to the airport. We have to keep the foreigners tourists at a prepared 4-stars hotel to do a few things: first, to do tests to make sure they were not infected, and that they would not spread the pandemic any further. Second, if they were, then keep track of where and who they had visited, and deal with it. All of them tourists cooperated nicely, EXCEPT for Korean ones. They contacted their Embassy, saying that they're imprisoned, that they're treated badly, lacking of proper food and care. They kept whining so while staying in a hotel, and having people delivering food and supplies to their door (i was one of those people, and i hated that work, i hated the look they gave me. Of course, no "Thank you") I understand that the food they get might not fit their taste, and they had to manage 3-4 people in a room, but hell, they're King-size beds, more than enough for 2 people on one. And those rations were equivalent to the meals of special cared patients in our hospital. And they didn't even have to pay a dime. And when I came back to sterilize their rooms, oh boy...

Visited Korea with my family. We’re the only Asians (we’re Viet. Ame) in our tour group, everyone else was white American or European. We had natural tan/yellow skin so I guess it was easier to pick us out from the rest. That and we’re short af lol. Let me tell you, the difference how we vs the other tourists was disgustingly shocking to us. They would get complimented while when my family went to talk to the the locals many dismissed us or gave us looks once we told them we were originally from Vietnam. Even visiting Japan wasn’t as polarizing (surprisingly). They were polite (at least to our face) and happy to practice their English on us lol. Couldn’t say the same about Korea. SE Asians are seen as “dirty” and not as sophisticated. Sad that many idolize racist and mediocre Kpop idols and think Kdramas are oh so romantic and perfect. I never want to go back to Korea after that exp.

Even my childhood friends in Gangnam openly ask why I live there, which is actually a very fine town, just not Seoul. So I confirm there is discrimination and lack of culture but I would say it is more about money rather than race. For example, you dress like someone from oil rich country, they will not be disappointed. This is a very competitive society where lack of wealth is looked down on. Lots of suicide due to lack of wealth and lowest birth rate because many do not want to spend money on raising kids. It is a sick society indeed.

I know there are always exceptions, but I was raised Korean (though I’m half Japanese, half Chinese) and I have to say, Koreans are some of the vainest people I’ll ever know. They care a lot about face and are very firm nationalists. I remember being bullied by Korean “friends” who thought I was Korean because I was raised Korean, but found out I was not. I spoke their language and lived like them but the second they learned I’m not Korean by blood, their fangs came out. It was traumatizing. Only one of my many traumatizing stories that leave me wary of being close with Koreans. People don’t just develop negative views; they come from experience. Very hard to forgive and forget.

Japan: same as Korea but conceals it better and are really polite/good at not showing it. China: slightly less discriminatory due to a multi ethnic society, but a lot more rude and blunt, and put a lot of emphasis on the Chinese identity. Taiwan: relatively kind and polite and do not reveal discriminatory behaviours.

Their development pretty much happened slowly over a thousand years, especially the 1st 2, as Italy technically didn't unite until the 1800s, and arguably the culture and people in the Italian peninsular are not to the same as those in ancient Rome. That's true, but who cares? If they had the brain to realize that, they wouldn't even write a comment here

Disappointment? Why? Vietnam is amazing. Beautiful people and deep rooted culture and rich history.

But Vietnam is not a poodle colony of USA regime like Occupied Korea. That's why.

In fact, a lot of Koreans go to Vietnam for vacation or even sometimes to find a wife.

This is so heart breaking. In Indonesia, there is a Korean guy went viral because he called our girl "Monkey". Also, i have been in relationship with this country man, it was my worst date. Other hand, i found good Korean tourist when i was internship at 4 star hotel. I think Korean needs to learn Diversity and learn to be humble. My advice is if you are K-pop fan just enjoy their music and fashion. That save your from dissapointment.

It's crazy watching this video because here in the US, a majority of Americans couldn't tell the difference between Koreans, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese etc. They just see people with different eyes than us and call them "asian"
