Thank you! Watching your videos for the last week helped me do the right thing, so today I’ve had my first training session with my own 12 kg kettlebell. Gosh it was intense! 4 x 15 deadlifts, 4 x 15 double hand swings, and I was done for today. Out of breath, legs shaking, sweaty as hell. Wow. Can’t wait to do more of it!

Wondering you thoughts on Pro Kettlebell or any of the brands that have a 4x concave surface vs. The traditional spherical shape. A video would be cool. Like I said Pro Kettlebell in USA was innovator and now I think Rogue and KBK are following up with similar concave design. Seems the future, no?

Greg- lots of companies have been making adjustable kettlebells in the competition size (Wolverson, Kettlebell Kings, Omnibell, Bells of Steel). As someone who has 3 "evergreen" weight (16, 20, 24kg), cast iron bells, I am thinking of getting an adjustable one instead of getting separate 12 28, 30 and 32kg bells to add to my collection. I'd love to hear your review/comments on these bells. Thanks!

You're welcome! I've heard a couple of practitioners use the ProKettlebells/ Rogue. Some of them mentioned, that if you don't hit the contoured spots perfectly, that it doesn't feel right. What's the difference between normal flow and super flow? What you described in your vid on the subject sounds like... well, flow, the way it is described in psychological literature (feeling of enjoyment, loss of time and so on). I can definitely see the benefit of hollow core bells as opposed to filler. Will you be working with retailers in different countries such as Sweden?

The video in the end dives deeper into the "Super Flow" concept; as Josh already mentioned in the reply. We're currently working with our local postal carrier to enable world wide shipping (so Sweden will be an option!). At first, we start small and fulfill orders by ourselves. Over time, this might change if the market responds well! - Gregory

@@lebe-stark Yeah, definitely. Kwella recommends them only from 16kg upward, if they are done the traditional way with the supporting hand on the handle, otherwise one should put the supporting hand through the window onto the bell. I was referring to the subtle difference between hollow cores and fitness comps of the same weight of course in this very special case.

In my gym we have both cast iron and competition style KB. I generally prefer competition KB but I find it more challenging to hold it on my chest for goblet squats. I've seen you get around this by holding the ball from the bottom instead of the handle, but when I tried it I didn't know how to bring the KB down when finished. Do you have any video explaining that transition?

Dear Gregory, What would you recommend: buying a heavier kettlebell or buying the pair of the one I already have? I have a 30 lbs kettlebell, swings, cleans and snatches are getting easier every week and I use it for strength for Muay Thai. There's other people in this space who have different answers to this question but you're my #1 guy when it comes to kettlebells, I'll love your opinion. Thank you

  • @lebe-stark

I would opt in for a heavier kettlebell first. With single hand exercises, you get a lot of unilateral movement which is great for hip strength and mid-section health. This is defintiely what you need in Muay Thai. Doubles are awesome as well, but they require a bit more skill and you're a bit more limitied with the range of (powerful) exercises. - Gregory

I don’t know if it’s just the cast iron kettlebells they make in my country being shitty, but the cast iron powder coat shreds my hand if I do longer sets, it’s not a technique issue because my competition kettlebell smoother handles don’t cause the same problem, if you want to do high rep snatches and cleans definitely go competition/hollow core, if I could go back I would not buy cast iron.

I bought a round file to run along the upper angles of a coupl of cast irons I picked up recently (Dick’s Sporting Goods. Although I have found that Target and Walmart has very similar stuff. ) The changing hands on the fly in the upswing freaks me out. I absolutely do not want the swing a cast iron kettlebell into my knees. You’ve stated that you prefer a single arm swing. Maybe five swing reps per set of one arm then the other. The windows of the cast iron does not change hands on the fly comfortably. And so… apprehension about a fumbled pass heading for my leg.
