Ойын-сауық

@ Voodoowaffel: Stupid enough to DON"T understand??? Before you call other people stupid, you better check to see that you are not a complete moron yourself. Only a complete moron could make such appalling grammatical errors.

For them who do not know, The RMS Lusitania was an ocean liner built between 1904-1906. It was the largest liner of it's time. It was also the liner with a doom that faced a disaster almost as bad as it's rival, the HMS Titanic However during Post World War I The ship was sailing near Ireland when a German U-boat took site of the ship, holding 1,962 passengers/crew. The sub was quickly out-beaten by the fast liner. During this time however, U-boat commanding officer, Walther Schwieger gave the order to fire anyway. Despite the speed gain, the torpedo struck the ship's bow and another into the ships hull. the ship tumbled into the sea at much more of a speed rate due to it's multiple hull intrusions. This moment, that was said to be a cause to the start of World War I claimed almost 1,200 lives. Cunard thrives however to this day. Having still the Queen Mary (1934) still used as the famous hotel/resturant, and having the super-liner The Queen Mary II. -JMA

Late edit: WW1 lasted 1914-1918, Lusitania sank in 1915, one year into the war. Lusitania was sailing through thick fog, which meant it could go very fast (18 knots). When the fog lifted, the captain got a bearing and ended up sailing directly into the U-Boat's path. The U-Boat only had one torpedo, which hit the Lusitania. The second explosion was caused by the munitions the bits snuck aboard.

J Allen Sounds like you dnt know wtf your talkn bout!!! 1st of all it's the RMS Titanic not HMS... and Lusitania was only the largest vessel in the world for a brief period, which was bout 2 months, because her sister ship Mauretania was slightly bigger at 790 ft to Lucy's 787 ft n Maury's had a gross tonnage of 31,938 to Lucy's 31550...also Maury was a little faster
