I think the only reason for MUO not giving Manpreet the crown for MU 1995 is because they don't want India to have a back to back.. But God her answers was top notch.. She clearly stood out.. Her intellectual ability to articulate her thoughts is impeccable..👌

While Sushmita remains a fan favorite, lara was a class apart in the Pageant. The poise, the confidence, the articulation and the natural intellect- she had it all. The moment she took control of the mic in her hand for the last question she claimed her stake on the crown. So Lara ahead of Sushmita is more than justified

OMG! Manpreet Brar's Top 3 answer was ahead of her time, and I think it's the reason why she only ended as the 1st runner-up. The judges weren't ready for her.

They didn't want to give a back to back crown to a country which won its first MU crown the previous year. It's a planned one. No disrespect to Chelsi Smith but Manpreet was the deserved winner and she is MU 1995.

Miss India 1995 Manpreet Brar should have given India 🇮🇳 its second Miss Universe crown..her answer was perfect in final 3 and the best in Miss Universe history 🥰 💞 👌 .

While Manpreet Brar is indeed the best among non-winners, I personally feel Sushmita Sen was the best from every angle. The depth of her answers was absolutely stunning and truly incredible. Lara Datta was absolutely confident, but Sushmita's were truly memorable, even years after they were spoken! So She will be my #1

India really was the powerhouse of the 90s. Almost all of the representatives shown here were worthy of the crown. Especially Manbreet Brar. Her answers were so intelligent and thought-provoking. My guess why she didn't win was the judges didn't want to give it to India again. And then also Miss USA I considered to be more beautiful. Perhaps the judges thought the same. It is a beauty pageant after all. But Sushmita and Lara for me go down as the most intelligent and captivating Miss Universes of all time. No one comes close to their level. The current Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu surely has big shoes to fill.

Such Diversity in their Beauty - Their Intelligence is Refreshing - Right on India

Not Gul Panag with her fake English accent. But Manpreet - absolutely. In fact I would say her answer was as good as that of Lara’s. She was robbed of her crown.

Wow I think till date Lara Dutta is most intelligent, and superb in all aspects. Look at her body language, confidence, friendly nature. She is amazing. I felt bad for Manpreet she was clear winner

This is a beautiful compilation of how intelligent Miss Indian women are. Hard to compete w/ Miss India in questions round. Miss Universe India 2121 answers were grt as well. She truly deserved the crown.

I totally agree with this ranking. Although Sushmita Sen was excellent with her answers, Lara Dutta did seem more confident and her english was beyond perfection truly! I could listen to her speak allllll day. ❤️

as a true pageant fan, my favorite will always be sushmita not just among indian winners but for the whole list of miss universes. i also like lara dutta and the one who followed sushmita in 1995.

They were advised to "speak their mind", not to try to get on well with the audience/public like they do nowadays. This is one of the reasons why Madhu Sapre answered that she would build sporting facilities with the hypothetical money, instead of spending it in social welfare as was expected from her. And actually, what Madhu was trying to say was that she never had good training facilities growing up and that she wanted the youth to have the access she didn't because of lack of funding. But the nerves (and the language barrier) got to her.

I think No Miss Universe can come close to Lara Dutta in terms of speaking skill.

I think indian representatives in the 90s were just something else. They all were so confident and well articulated while answering their questions that no wonder they also scored high in the interview rounds. But even among them, I feel like Manpreet, Gul and Lara were the most well spoken. They didn't stutter like at all. Instead answered each and every question with a little bit of zazz and smile. It's crazy.

I feel Sushmita Sen is the best, at 18 she was so natural, unpretentious and spoke so well...if you notice some answers she gave were not cliche answers...and those could have gone against her, but she made it convincing. For e:g in Swimsuit round she said "I am not very expressive with people, I write my thoughts on paper "...that could have been a minus for being not very communicative verbally, also she said "Everyone must have two faces"...and gave an amazing answer and convinced why it is necessary, totally unconventional. followed by Manpreet Brar (I loved her for that perfect gift of gab, husky voice and super sharp intelligence and answers, and Lara Dutta for being so calm, poised and eloquent.

No wonder Lara datta's score still stands unbroken.....

Of course Lara is my best ever MU of all times.

I must say this is a beautiful video from start to the end. Women in India are so well educated they know how to deliver the response on different topics. they are smart, intelligent and composed at the same time. The 10 women in this video made the country proud of its women. The world rather the universe appreciated them for their work. It was swimsuit competition which stopped strong contestants like Gul panag, sandhya to enter top 5. Lymaraina was ranked 6th in top 10. Her evening gown score was high. She just missed the cut and placed 6th. Yes I agree with your saying to speak in a language which you are comfortable in. No matter how good your English is but mother tongue is something we are comfortable in. That's what Andrea did in miss universe 2020. When it comes to interpretation of the contestants answer into English the interpreter is the one who is responsible to convey it properly. For example France in 2016 delivered different in her native language but the interpreter translate it different in English not just once but twice. But the judges and organisation understood what miss france said as they consider it's not her fault at all. So she was voted by them as miss universe 2016. It's always about delivery. How you deliver your answers. How you construct them and convey them to the audience. Ending is very important in answers so always end your answer in a positive note. And make your answer personal relate it with your self. That's what iris Demi zozibini and harnaz done their in their respective editions.

Sandhya Chib could not make it to the top five because of her evening gown performance her swimsuit performance was at no. 5 on the basis of score

Many women's from India got top 10 place and also in top 3 . Now I think india has also many beautiful women in the world .

I love most of the women that you featured here!, especially Sushmita and Lara! Great job! Absolutely I agree with your opinion. Manpreet is one of the brilliant mind to participate in miss universe pageant. If she was sent in another year before 1995 she would easily won the title with her intelligence. Her top 6 answer prove how smart she is. And her final answer about women as thinking living individuals was outstanding. She made the country proud back in 1995. Still admire by global pageant fans. 👏

Between Sushmita and Lara, i have to put Sushmita in a no. Spot because, her questions from top ten, to six and in the final three are more difficult compare to Lara’s Top five and Final Q&A round. Sushmita slay from the start with grace and humble. Unlike Lara’s Questions were easy to manage and deliver with no hassle. But what if Lara join in Femina way back 1994? Should she snatch the crown to Sushmita nor Aishwarya, for those who dont know, Lara was the same age of Sushmita Sen at 18 during 1994 Femina India, were Sushmita won the Femina India 1 (Universe). And Sushmita was 24yrs when Lara won the Femina India Universe 2000. Whats your thoughts guys.

@@hmanansala4239 you know for someone who has followed pageants since very early, when i was 15 years, i can tell you something that most people tend to miss- the only time i saw that quality was with Lara, the ability to grab the mike and speak words that are pure intelligence, its rare to find it amongst so many winners till date There was a pull that cant be described, its magic of brilliance , i also feel Manpreet Brar did great on that stage

Sushmita's answers in MU 1994 held in Manila esp the Final Q and A is remarkable. From a remarkable question to a remarkable answer, not related to questions with issues or political, so for me it's my No. 1! This is also the best of the best because another finalist, Carolina of Colombia also give her best shot the entire pageant, so its also a surprise for Sushmita won and unpredicatable unlike Lara which is very predictable based on her final answer and her co-finalist is not so good answers.

The Indian candidate answer in 1992 was not good enough for a title. Miss Namibia's answer is very timely that's why she won the Miss Universe title.

These are some of the most beautiful women in the world!

At the end of the day it's a business, so they have to comply with the popular demand, just think about sports why tall people succeed in sports for example like a sport like basketball and tennis, why sportspersons work so much on their fitness and body? So as per your theory ain't sportspersons too creating insecurity among common people.

The only fault in this video is the sound, it’s not consistent throughout. You have to toggle the volume between soft and loud passages. 👎🏻
