What It Takes To Become A Great Product Manager

You have probably heard other people refer to Product Managers as the “CEO of the product.” I disagree because product managers simply don’t have any direct authority over most of the things needed to make their products successful: from user and data research through design and development to marketing, sales, and support.
So, what should you consider if you are thinking of pursuing a Product Manager role?

I've been looking for a video explaining this role without theory thingy and stuff. It's so on point and works best for PMs or to-be PMs who are figuring out what's wrong with their job. Kudos to the scriptwriter. Plus, I think it's also great as I(also many people, I guess) can use it as a compass to find area(s) they need to focus on and master. So, for PMs who are getting lost, ask yourself 1.what kind of PM you want to be 2.what company serves your interests at best Before starting anything, these are the two big questions you need to answer first. These are your priorities!

Business and engineering (software or otherwise) are great degrees to get. Potentially a degree that teaches you design skills. You can learn how to manage people as you grow in the job, but knowing the technical side of business or development is far more valuable.

Pick skills through internship, offer design/vision/strategy services to businesses you know. build core competency skills, learn more from Exponent or Product alliance (paid) or just free YT vids to start with. once you have something to show and feel confident in the role, networking helps, then you can attract the hiring managers.
