The video I just watched is hands down the best for understanding the essential skills a PM needs. It's truly incredible.
Liam I can't stress enough how informative and thorough your 12:51 minute video was! I got more insight on specifics of the PM role then an 11 hour course I took on becoming a PM! Looking forward to watching your other videos. Thanks again, and you rock!
1. Yes! Please don’t use AI buzzwords if you don’t understand them. Senior PMs will suss you out and question your motives. 2. ALWAYS ask your engineering lead for an architectural design diagram, a functional flow diagram, and a data flow diagram. Could be all-in-one. And understand it fully!

Thank you for your channel, truly useful and love it that you aren't trying to sell yourself or anything else here! Could you please do a video on how to approach product teardown? There are a lot of content however I think your thought process is quite structured and succinct.
Hi Liam. Thank you so much for all the information. I’m currently in tech sales looking forward to become a pm later and your videos are very helpful.
This is awesome Liam! Cursing myself for not finding this channel in these many years.
This is so much nuggets. I love how you break it down clearly!
I found this shockingly helpful as someone with no specific education in the realm of product ownership, but who has managed to land there in our growing startup. I’ve got a good to-do list to make sure I’m growing into the role!
I love your video! straight to the point, easy to understand without buzz words and very practical!

So which component takes up most of your time? What do your daily activities look like? If the designers are more informed about user interface design would the product manager role be testing and researching their design choices? How much of a say does the product manager have in the design?
Protect him at all cost .
My masters program focused heavily on marketing technology, or the technical side behind it all. I wish we learned SQL tho. I’ve seen that more and more in job requirements. Do you know if courses that contain SQL are supplemental to actual experience? Like is it respected?
Please make more videos :)
Pls we need more videos
I have all these skills. Experience as ux designer, I looked into creating my own business figuring it out and have an understanding of the domain, and have an understanding of technology domain as I have an engineering degree in IT. I want to get into PM since I enjoy getting to know user needs get into behavior patterns, spot opportunities to add value to users and to the business, I understand analytics. How do i go about getting a job in this field since I have no experience as PM? As a fresher in this field? I have designed degree, I have IT engineering degree and I have self taught business acumen.
Hi Liam, I see every product manager at Microsoft have a engineering background in India. I have gone through atleast 20 linkedin profiles. So its safe to conclude that microsoft hires people with engineering back even if you have mba ?
Thanks for this. Can you recommend where to learn these technical skills?

Liam, do you recommend taking PM courses? Such as the Product School ones...
@liambolling

i personally do not recommend anything by a for profit organization that is not an nationally accredited education institution
Hi @Liam, can you also share your insights on how to understand what the interviewer is evaluating on? I feel it is a lot of luck as interviewer might be wearing a special hat and trying to test us on that specific skill. What are the right questions/tricks to find out the interviwers' evaluation criteria?
@liambolling
2 жыл бұрын
i personally tell the candidate what pillars i’m evaluating on and it’s expected that the candidate does some homework before the interview (or ask the recruiter) more details on what those pillars entail. i feel like it’s fair to ask the interviewer if they don’t tell you up front.

I wish I found this video very earlier.
The best PMs used to be data scientists
ithon app
Java not to develop a mobile app! 😑
I think you should understand a lot deeper the technical side, what you said is very superficial, a chinese 3 year old knows all the technical shit that you mentioned
I'm glad I selected this video. Can I join you? I'll get us a table. #sqljokes
Me checking ur page and seeing just 9 videos is sad 🥲
