What It's Really Like to Live in Tulum (Vlog)
What It's Really Like to Live in Tulum (Vlog) This is part 3 of our Tulum series and we had to wrap it up with a few final adventures including visiting Vesica Ceynote a chill, quiet and stunningly beautiful ceynote and Palma Central, a perfect stop for foodies and/or families.
So what do you think? is it worth the hype after watching this 3 part series? We share our thoughts in this video wrapping up our Tulum adventures.

Saga enjoying her food was so cute, her trying to kiss Max eye ball and the shot of Maya floating as it panned out was stunning ❤❤❤

Wow, Mom's are superheroes, Maya wore a toddler and rode a bike! It's so great to still see her normalizing and breastfeeding in public. I think it will give many woman courage to do so.

I breastfed for 2 years exactly. I stopped on his birthday. I got the most flack from my family. Most strangers were actually encouraging where I live in the States. We even have a breastfeeding clinic that is attached to my pediatrician offices. The good thing about that is, you come in for an 1.5 hour appointment and you have nurses and a pediatrician for that time. They have you sit in a nice room that's made to be comfy with drinks and healthy snacks and they help you and give you tips if neede. They also check the baby and answer any questions if you have them. The best 2 years ever.

@@chidenisee You were bold to continue to feed despite families unwanted comments. Families have a lot of influence on feeding options and a lot can go by what their family "says".

In some countries public passenger vehicle (taxis), car seats are not feasible due to price and availability however young kids and baby stay in the parent's lap and live to become adults. 🤷🏾♀️

Saga’s tan is everything. She’s gonna miss Tulum, one of the most low key, enchanting getaways on earth.
I’m curious about your experience flying a drone near the Cenote. Did anybody give you any hassle about it or did you have to pay an extra fee? My last trip to Tulum, I left the drone at home but I feel like I could’ve got some really good footage if I had it with me.
@MaxMayaLiving

Since it was a private and enclosed Cenote I did ask the owner kindly if I was allowed to fly it and they were fine with it. Tulum is tricky because they have a large police and military presence everywhere so I preferred flying from the apartment rooftop. Max

Another video on the gentrification and deforestation of the sacred Mayan jungle 😢
You know I really don't think Tulum is the most kid-friendly place at all. Actually, I think it is quite dangerous for a small child. There isn't a car seat for her, the roads are rocky for a stroller, there are no sidewalks, taxis are moving recklessly, it is long treks to amenities, and riding a bike with a child on your chest?? not even a helmet? It is just not okay, perhaps considering the (many) trials and errors of being comfortable in Tulum another destination could be looked into. Really just not a good look.
I’ve loved Maya for years and I’ve followed you guys since the beginning, but this video breaks my heart. This was such a missed opportunity to recognize how this form of gentrification hurts the locals of Tulum. The cab strike was just an inconvenience in your last video and not something worth supporting. There’s no empathy for locals/natives who are being displaced to make this place beautiful, almost exclusively, for North Americans and Europeans. They go to recharge from the resources of the land and exploited labor of the locals while giving nothing back to the communities. I hope you guys can do more research and reflect on this. Avoidance and willful ignorance is also political, but I hope you choose to learn more and make use of your platform for good

Although I agree with you, it would be helpful if you would comment some alternatives as well. Not everyone is educated about this topic.
@MaxMayaLiving
Жыл бұрын
We had conversations between ourselves and the locals that we spoke to expressed gratitude for the business generated. It’s an assumption that it’s only North Americans and Europeans that are tourist there. There are so many Mexicans, Central and South Americans visiting and living in to Tulum for work opportunities. I do see where you’re coming from as we’re not oblivious but where does that leave tourism as a whole? What is the alternative? Have you spoken to the locals? If anything our issue was with the pollution generated from the lack of social infrastructure and peoples lack of respect and throwing garbage on the street.
Sorry but Tulum is NOT the moment. Andrew Henderson from Nomad Capitalist shares my exact sentiment on the city.
