Watch that whole interview. What he's saying is, Floyd is always in control, alert and composed. Which is the same thing Conor said after fighting Floyd. Floyd is always aware, composed and in a position to make you pay whenever he wants. As Berto was attacking Floyd he realized that Floyd is seeing everything and just waiting for the perfect spots to counter you where theres nothing you can do to defend yourself after you've extended. It makes you scared to throw even if he hasn't hurt you yet. How many fighters have you watched slow down in Floyd even though you know they're not tired yet and Floyd hasn't even hurt them yet? Floyd is in all time master.

Mayweather was the fighter he was because he trained like a champion. He was smart and understood the true art of boxing. Hitting without getting hit. His defense and timing was priceless. Really focused guy. If mayweather had been into drugs and living a negative lifestyle that may have all went down the drain but he stayed disciplined. Top 5 boxers ever no matter how you cut it. Mayweather is a great fighter. But he has done a lot of picking and choosing too. Just because he is not defeated does not mean that he is the best boxer ever. The NO.1 undoubtedly is Muhammed Ali. Ali's skills were godly for a heavyweight. His chin, his formidability, his movements, were anything the boxing had ever seen back then. Number One in a sport should always be the man who set the standards for that sport. And for Boxing it is Muhammed Ali.

It's probably why he is so good at adjusting and breaking down fighter's style during a fight. He's able to stay focused. It's probably hard when you are getting hit all the time. And then you add up all those punches over career. Floyd's brain is probably still pretty healthy.

Tricky part about Floyd is that he uses the first few rounds to see how his opponents reacts (even if he has to take a few hits in the process). Floyd then simply works to win rounds on the scorecards while never letting his opponent know that he's spotted their tail, but effectively hiding his own. Seems easy, but I think that slight mental edge allows him to undermine his opponent's confidence and then set ore traps, create angles, manage distance, telegraph shots and dominate later rounds.

If they wanted boxers to fight toe to toe, they'd put them in a phone booth instead of a boxing ring. The term "the sweet science" means exactly that, SCIENCE: Using the entire ring to your advantage. It means out thinking your opponent. Out strategizing him. Taking away what he does best. If your opponent is a good inside fighter, you take that away by wrapping him up when he gets INSIDE. Make him fight YOUR fight. Mayweather understands this better than anyone. And that's why he's undefeated. Some of the best fighters to ever lace 'em up and their respective trainers have gone up against Mayweather, and they've all lost! What a 21 year old Floyd did to Hernandez was crazy. And no one demolished a prime Corrales like Floyd did. He adapted to beat Castillo decisively in a rematch and adapted to come back and beat Corley after being hurt, much like in the Mosley fight. N'dou and Gatti were examples of what Mayweather could to to B level fighters in his prime, particularly if they lacked defense. Judah, De La Hoya, Hatton and Marquez just before Mosley. It's a shame you didn't start watching Floyd until after Mosley which came after Marquez. After his first retirement, two years before the Marquez fight, his athleticism and reflexes just weren't quite the same. He relied more on skill as he wasn't quite as athletic or sharp. From there on his physical capacity slowly diminished but he always had the skill, ring smarts and gameplan to carry him through. His young days featured, Vargas, Hernandez, Castillo, Chavez, Corrales, good lord how did this man survive all them matadors and pistoleros trying to assassinate him.

self proclaiming individuals are insecured deep inside.. Floyd is insecure that is why he wants to believe he's the best ever.., and you proclaim that you know boxing and others are casuals and ignorant, but whenever someone uses that word "CASUALS" is just pretending to know the sport of boxing.., pretending to be "EXPERTS" .. pathetic fools.

Dudes got it in his blood and he's still out there show casing, it wasn't till i made the transition from Muay Thai to Boxing in my early 20's that i realized just how different this shit is, i don't care what anyone says you may think you know what you doing just cause you can throw a punch but you don't know shit until you find yourself in front of a pure boxer that knows his craft ... I got my ass beat up and down the ring that day like i've never experienced in my 12 years in kickboxing fighting pro's, it was what sold me on making the transition and although i've been watching boxing since i was 10 i had a new found appreciation for it that turned me into a fanatic ever since ... The level of skill that Mayweather displays is almost superhuman, the man is a machine and he's worked hard to get there and as for me he's the GOAT, couch potato's will say what they want to but i encourage you to go to your local gym and find someone that knows what they doing and see what it takes to stand there and trade with even amateur, you'll then realize just how crazy talented you have to be to do what Mayweather was capable of.
