The Night Floyd Mayweather Dismantled a Future Hall of Famer

Спорт

In Canelo Alvarez, we celebrate one of the most decorated and active champions in boxing today.
However, it hasn't all been sunshine and rainbows..
Here we look at the passing of the torch, against Floyd Mayweather Jr, a night which would either make or break todays Face of Boxing - before any of this was possible.

Canelo would never be who he is now, if he wouldn't have lost to Floyd. after that match, he really understand how to use every angle of the ring, how to not spend lot of energy to follow his opponents around the ring and make the ring smaller for the opponent even without throw a single punch.

@@Jersey1287Bivol, was very different. Bivol, was just too much of a weight and size step up. Because, Canelo did get so good, everyone got a bit delusion. There was talks of him facing, and even beating Uysk. Uysk, whom is 6’3” and near enough 16 stone, and you big enough to beat AJ whom is 6’6” and we’ll over 18 stone. Uysk, would literally break Canelo’s skull, but that’s how far the delusions got. So, Bivol was just a wake up for Canelo’s actual size and the men he can actually face. Fights were so hard to make at the time, everyone avoiding each other, refusing to fight, complaining about everything they could think of, and yet when Canelo v Mayweather was mentioned, no problem, it was on. Mayweather knew Canelo was still green and was getting stronger. Good time to take the match. For two amazing boxers like Mayweather and Roy Jones Jr, I feel they avoided moments in time when they could have challenged other boxers at their peak. For me, that's an asterisk against their greatness.

Mayweather was robbed. Canelo was given the gift of a split decision when Mayweather clearly spanked him the whole bout. It was after this fight that I knew Canelo was favored by the judges and boxing. GGG beat the brakes off of Canelo first fight then arguably the second time. Canelos toughest fight ever. As far as the best Mexican fighter, I have to give it to Julio Cesar Chavez. The first to crack the Philly Shell. He walked down well over 99% of his adversaries.
