Just moved to Minnesota from California for my daughter who needed spinal surgery. She was just discharged today after 21 days in the hospital. Minnesota is so cool and people are so nice. Hoping to check out Lake Superior one day and score some surf. Thanks for the video!! 🤙

Dude the Great Lakes have the aloha spirit! Everyone here is stoked to have people in the water! I’ve almost never had people rude in the lakes and if they are, they don’t belong there.

Mad respect to the boys who surf the frozen tundra of the Great Lakes...

I can relate to the lake surfing scene. We surf the German Baltic Sea (which is smaller than most of the Great Lakes) and the stoke is just really high because it's such a novelty experience. When you score one of the better days it feels like winning in the lottery.

I'm an Estonian, born and living in Australia, but when I visited Estonia, I saw the possibility of surf there. Having just searched youtube, I see it's possible, and at times pretty good!! I live on the beach at Golden Bay Western Australia, and we don't get surf that good very often!!

Yes, we'll get 15 to 20 ft plus waves on Lake Erie when the storms are rolling, It's nothing to see 7 to 10 footers 🤙🏼.. my Buddy worked Coast Guard on the ocean for years, then was transferred to Lake Erie. He had never seen the Great Lakes. He said he never imagined in his lifetime how massive the waves are in the great lakes. Its actually terrified him going out on search and rescues for a few years, til he got use to it.. 🤙🏼

In the Great Lakes, storms come quickly, fresh water swells rise instantly and fiercely. Love em.....!!!

So cool to see a fish being surfed still! I started surfing a twin fin fish back with David Nueva in the late 60s! I rode twins until my 3rd back surgery and was never able to surf again. Had 10 back surgeries to date!

Pure joy are a group of surfers catching ultra rare, once a decade swell. Nothing like it on earth.

Man I remember Surfer's rendition of that trip to the Great Lakes. Easily a Top 5 rendition of a Great Lakes trip ever printed. Just a really solid rendition, very true to the original.

Ol Ben… just landed today from a South African trip- surfed most of the world, but some of my best memories was surfing Lake Michigan as a little punk in Stevensville MI in the 80’s- we had real stoke (and a lot of patience :)

Didn't know you were from PA originally. I lived there a long time and now surf PNW. I never knew.. stoked to see Erie have something going on. The evening score on those larger crumbly but sometimes barrelled and sometimes ledgy sets look a lot like a spot here.. those conditions would also be regarded as epic. Solid edit & fun seeing everyone so psyched out!

Definitely more international surf trips bro New zealand is keen to show ya sum fun waves and lots of novelty waves as well
