I kinda already had an idea of what you did, from the livestreams and such, but that's SO MUCH, and I appreciate my beautiful betta, even more, knowing all the crazy he went through, and how well you treated him, before he came to his forever home! There are lots of fish channels on KZread, but I like you guys and Aquarium Co-op the best! You guys actually love your fish and just want to do the best you can for them, and hopefully teach others. It's also really nice to see other people who love bettas as much as I do. They're just so pretty!

Our first female Betta was totally grey with stripes in the store and coloured up within an hour in a planted 10 gallon. That was great to watch.

I knew it was a lot of work but damn. Good thing you have feline helpers. I Amin the process of building a new Betta tank. Slowly as to not hurt my wallet. Waiting for sales and deals. Plus I don’t want to order a Betta in winter. Of course it will be a KGTropicals Betta my daughter picks out.

I am so happy to have found your channel. I am considering starting a betta sorority, and have gained a wealth of knowledge and information from you. I successfully kept fish for 20 plus years in the pass, but have not personally keep fish for more than about 20 years as well. I am responsible for the office betta which I took over after become tired of seeing him miserable in a small flower vase. He is now much happier in his 3 Gal. heated, filtered and decorated tank. I want to upgrade him to a 5 Gal. in the future, but just dont have the space right now. I am sad that I have missed your weekly Live Streams, but am enjoying bing watching the ones from the past.(I now live in Hampton VA, but I use to live in Ladysmith VA. We were almost neighbors before you moved to NC.) I look forward to upcoming videos and finishing watching past ones.

Seeing the beautiful ladies and gents arriving and online is just WONDERFUL! My husband has fallen in love with the lemon drops, he's usually partial to the females, but the yellow fellas, wow! We never think they can get even more beautiful, but every time they do!! The newest veil tails, Lisa!! They are just stunning! Hearing they are gaining popularity in Texas as well. I just found you guys cause I was researching in preparation for my first betta. I love your wife! She's hilarious and straightforward. New sub here!

As they extend the courtesy of inspecting and hand picking the ones you want (after very close scrutiny), if you spot one with missing scales etc that could become infectious, could you "red spot" the bag with a sticker? It'd be easy for them to take out of the loop for the next client, helping maintain their rep. It would also perhaps aid the health of the fish in catching anything early? Great vid, absolutely love Bettas. Tbf, I've been out of the fishkeeping loop for a while, didn't know they came in such wild colour morphs!

Bettas are easily my favorite fish of all time. So much variety in both color and personality!

Hi,John Meyerhofer here-LOVE you BOTH and the information on aquariums,Especially Betta TY LIA- Breaks my heart every time I see them starving and dying in those plastic cup,I care about ALL animals much o IO have a small critique I hope you forgive me- Befgoe I found you and four weeks before I bought a betta but a 2 gallon tank, i I had intention to buy a dozen set betta included for Presents- But realized, they would not feel the same about betta as I do t wa SO HAPPY to be in that two gallon tank.-From your info I do check and water changes happily two sometimes three times a week I have few snail and three ghost shrimp -Watching your info I realize,(acutually MORE GULIT)-I love the idea your teaching people about bettas However I went out and spent more money than I can afford ,bought and set up a five gallon but the lite was horrible,I am out $79.99 There so much extras ,I feel I saved the betta -the tank lights wasMy fault-because want plants and should thought about lighting first,My betta is back in his two gallon and happy,! My thought I although at least a five gallon is best-if an animal lover can't afford it, i it possible people who can't afford or want a five gallon ,get a two gallon BUT be warned about the importance of at least two time a week water change TY j

Samurais are pretty rare and especially well bred ones are gonna run you a pretty penny. Unless you want one that’s gonna be overbred

Out of curiosity why doesnt Lisa bread her own bettas? I probably missed the video explaining the answer, but 3 weeks of binge watching isn't enough to catch up on 9+ years of vids lol. Can only imagine it would be more expensive for both the shop and the customer by acting as a middle man.

When you're picking out your bettas do you ever feel as if they are asking/pleading with you to pick them out because I feel like that when I see the bettas at the pet stores and I feel as if they want to come home with me but I gotta tell them no because I can't have any right now but I feel a deep connection to them. Do I sound like a crazy person because I know this sounds nuts.... :D

Those look like less than 5 gallons... I'm hoping those are just quarantine tanks and that's why they are so small and plain. I don't want to assume this is systematic abuse of siamese fighting fish but if this are just quarantine tanks then it's good enough. If it's not fish abuse then I'd love to see once they are switched to their permanent tanks with the enrichment and the hiding/resting spots they need, I bet it would look epic.

Hi Lisa, I have a new female sorority and they were very aggressive. I have a light that is programmable and has 8 different colors. I turned the color to a neon purple and the aggression stopped.

I need some help, I got a betta today, still pretty small and 4 neon tetra, but the betta is breathing heavily but the neon are having a ball of a time nothing wrong with their breathing, I have the sponge filter with air pump and it's giving enough air to the tank, a heater as well and this tank has been running for 2 weeks with a tiny amount of fish flakes to build ammonia, I also did add the good bacteria in a day or 2 later, with no fish in the tank to ensure a healthy environment for the fish, I did a test of the water everything looks good. But the betta is breathing heavily, he looks healthy it just the breathing, is he stressed? Or is there a possibility he got ammonia poisoning at the fish shop? What should I do?

I am so super bummed. My Epi Betta has a float bladder issue. :( He eats but can't swim down. Breaks my heart.

Does anyone know how to fix a oil slick in a betta tank? I've tried everything i've read online. Using paper towels to absorb the oil. Buying a new filter incase there was oil left inside of the filter during manufacturing. I even bought the highest quality betta food, and put in a entire bubble wall. I'm at a loss of what i should do. After i get out all the oil, it just comes back the next day.... if anyone knows how to help, please comment. I honestly dont know what to do at this point.

Do your bettas ever jump out of their containers? I ask because you don't have lids on 'em. I had a couple of female bettas in a 15 gallon, one after one they all jumped out :( Recently I've even had 8 bristlenose pleco babies jump out of their aquarium the same night...

I currently have 3 females in a 20 gallon, could I add one more? I have a Shark 400 filter that I bought from you☺

No, sororities are a bad idea and they’re not recommended in tanks as small as yours.

Tbh your tank is too small for a sorority. You need like 6 to curb aggression and it needs to be heavily planted. I’d seperate them if I were you and even if you had a bigger tank it’s not reccomended.

No water and temperature acclimation ?

I have one question or statement, you didn't acclimate the betas, how come?

When will you be getting more bettas? And Giant bettas?
