What It's Like Living in Foster Care | PART 2 | Origin

This in-depth series follows the entire adoption process from the parents who are desperately fighting to keep their children to the couples eagerly waiting to become adoptive parents and bring a child into their home.
The process begins with the most difficult decision of all: the decision to remove a child from its birth family. This episode follows the social workers whose job it is to take children away from their parents and recommend whether they should ever return; and parents who are desperately fighting to keep their children.

Those kids are so cute and so so well behaved. It breaks my heart that they have to go through such a hard time. The foster parents did great.

These videos always make me go hug my kids extra tight. I can’t even fathom a world where I didn’t do everything and anything to keep them safe and happy and healthy. How their biological families lay their heads down at night knowing their own flesh and blood is suffering like this?

It's not always as straight forward as that. Mental health, abuse, trauma, lack of support, intelligence, financial reasons, addiction... Way too many reasons why a person may not be able to look after their children. Not having them would be the best option in some cases, but you can't take it back... We cannot judge the bio parents having not walked in their shoes.

As someone who was adopted you never know the situation so don't judge. My mom was young, already had my brother, my sperm donor had already left when she was 4 months pregnant with me, she couldn't find a job because it was a high risk pregnancy, so she gave the the life she knew she couldn't give me. Did it mean growing up away from all my siblings...yes...but now I understand why did what she did and she and I are as close as any mother and daughter would be. She's amazing. Don't judge a situation you don't know the full story behind.

I think that little boy deserves to have a dad. Those two women because of the life style they have chosen are not owed a child.

No one is owed anything but basic respect. People who are other than cis/het don't choose to be that way any more than any of us choose the color of our eyes. As long as they can provide him love and support in a stable household they'll be good parents for him. He won't be short of male role models.
