Honestly so therapeutic thinking through the pros and cons again as I’ve been experiencing a little burn out with the job. I kept being like “you’re so right, girl” 😂 there are so many more pros to the job and It was refreshing to be reminded of those 🥰

I just left training at your airline. At my age (50), It was a hard decision, but I was so exhausted and knew that the job at my age would be too mentally and physically hard on me. I also made my own pros and cons list when I was deciding to quit, and some of things you missed as cons were missing holidays and family events, hard on relationships, dealing with customers, exposure to radiation and increase chance of breast cancer, not getting paid for so much time that you are on the job, and being out of control with your schedule as a new hire. I think those are pretty big items. I think it would’ve been easier when I was younger though. Love your videos ❤

What is it like having a relationship and being a flight attendant? Is it difficult to balance a relationship with consistently being out of town? I think that's the biggest thing holding me back right now.

Most airlines have the first year completely on call and then 19:01 1 on, 1 off for 4 more years. The pay starts at $30,000 with all the bells and whistles (not a living wage) and flying more when on call and, worse when commuting, is undoable. Pay is terrible until after the 5th year. Flight benefits are annulled by the pay, because flights could be completely covered by a higher wage. Yes, jobs does completely improve as time goes by, but most people don’t make it past the 5 year mark.

This was really good. I’m almost 3 months in at the same airline and I think this is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. But I agree with everything you said. Well done.

This was a really interesting video! I love your content. I am actually curious about a few things when it comes to the appearance of a flight attendant. 1. Do you have to wear only natural makeup when you're at work? 2. Can you wear nail polish or acrylic nails? 3. Do you always have to have your hair up when you're working?

Great video!! So many good points. I’ve been watching your videos since January and they have helped me so much. I graduated training with your airline in May and have been flying since then! It’s an amazing job but you absolutely have to be flexible and prepared for anything. I have yet to take advantage of my flight benefits but I know it will happen! I can’t wait to watch more videos like this ❤

It was nice to hear you’ve used your benefits, I was wondering about that a bit. And since free travel is the biggest benefit you almost *have* to use it. How was First Class as passenger? Would you say flying five days a week is workable for you,when you get more seniority and thus can be more picky?

Every FA always says that the first year is the toughest schedule, adjustment, pay wise... What is something that can help you get through it? 💖

The first year can be SO hard😅 mentally and physically. It’s adjusting to a whole new lifestyle. Having a good support system was huge for me. My fiancé has been so great and a great help when I come home from every trip but it’s also important to have someone you can lean on that knows the job. No one will ever understand this job until they actually do it. My friend has been an FA for 9 years and she is truly the only person I can vent to that understands how hard this job can be. Just make sure you surround yourself with positive people because this job can drain you. I try to remind myself to find my joy in each day that I’m away from home flying. A lot of FAs can become bitter over time being surrounded by so many negative people and feeling lonely.

Oh you absolutely should!!! I would say very realistic- I was given ATL base right out of training. If you don’t get it immediately you can put in a base transfer just after a few months, and you should get it for sure then!

I had a CFO from another mainline without a close base, and really want to apply with your airline when apps open again. I made it to assessment face a little over a year ago, but I didn't make it past that. I'm definitely going to apply again.

How much do you rest ? Like do you work everyday and do you have time to have fun ?

With summer flying I feel like I’ve barely rested😅😂 summer is always the busiest. I just mentally prepare myself that will be working a lot during the summer and I try to always have weekends off to be at home. So I’m basically I’m flying 4 to 5 days a week during the summer because our schedule value is so high. During fall/winter I spend more time traveling for pleasure and spending time with our families🥰

Aviation is a career. Also, you really sound uneducated and don’t understand the occupation/lifestyle. That’s like saying nurses are professional ass wipers, or teachers are full time baby sitters. See how disrespectful that sounds? Flight attendants are safety professionals. Do your research before you come on here degrading an individuals career. Travel is not cheap nowadays. Starting flight attendant pay is not good starting, and gets better throughout the years. It’s called paying your dues. Any job has cons, and people are allowed to express their feelings about their occupation. “You pass a trash and then pick it up.” Obviously, you really have never done your research or know what flight attendants are there for. I pray you never have a flight that you have a medical emergency, fire, evacuation, etc where you’re going to need the help of a flight attendant who is trained to work in these conditions to save your life. Research flight attendant training, the interviewing process, the job itself. “I don’t get it” it’s obvious and you came on here and you sound like such an idiot.

What is on your nose Hannah? Is that a light? I think that this job is a natural for you at this age. It will get better as you go. You would be good a many, many jobs. The it factor!
