@@MegF142857 That's not true at all... Lots of old couples bicker because they know how far they can push the other other one with their banter. Typically to an outsider it seems rude or like one is being mean but within the couple, a lot of times they are so used to each other's sass that they can give it and take it.

@@kathleenchild I fully agree with that. If Jesse has a chance to find out, he gets a chance to learn why things are how they are. He does not need to change in any way, but he may understand things better. Which might lead to an even better life for him. And if Matt accompanies him along the way, that may lead to an even deeper and richer relationship.

There is nothing wrong with Jesse... Why does he have to have adhd, a label,, for being a sensitive, loving, caring human being, who is in touch with his true self. and says it like it is? Jesse is so refreshingingly real in this world of fakeness, still a young man finding his way, which by the way, is doing a brilliant job from where I'm sitting! So please, we could all learn alot from Jesse, Let's embrace his charm and wonderful character as he is without assuming he needs fixing, testing, or having a label put on him. (This is no way disrespectful to anyone who does have Adhd or similar,, I just feel Jesse doesn't fit into that category!) Keep being you Jesse, I think you are brilliant!! You too Matt! 😊

Just to make myself absolutely clear, I would NEVER say that someone with ADHD has something wrong with them. Taking steps to help himself understand things better isn’t going to change him and make him less Jesse.

Both of you need to remember that Jesse has to translate from his head to his mouth every time he speaks English. Watch Jesse in Dutch speaking videos, you will see the difference.

Jesse has the ability to make people fall in love with his cuteness and kind nature. Combined with his angelic appearance, this makes for an incredible combo. I'm a relatively new subscriber and this guy immediately caught my attention))))

ADHD or not, Jesse we love you exactly as you are. Your personality is perfect for the job you do. People with ADHD are usually very intelligent and focus on many things at once and are able to go into a lot of detail. You are inspirational. Don't try to change! Matt, don't write cats off too quickly. I was always a dog person until a stray cat moved in with me. I am deaf and I don't hear my alarm clock in the morning, but my 🐈‍⬛ does and then he wakes me up. He is very loyal and sensitive and has been an excellent companion.

Things I love about Matt & Jesse (JMHO) ❤ - that Matt the big picture thinker is striving to build a life that makes both their hearts happy - that when Jesse used to do competitions he left before medals were announced because he didn’t care where he & his horse ranked, just that they had fun together (they would have to phone him to tell him he won a medal 😅) - that Matt has an amazing eye & can build them a beautiful home & grounds - that Jesse was so worried about his pups losing their “childhood home” 🥹 - that Jesse helps loosen up Matt and get him smiling & Matt helps Jesse by creating a beautiful & organised home that I feel may help Jesse navigate life with less stress - that both of them are just allround lovely human beings

I agree. They are like an old married couple. They know each other’s quirks and have fun with it. Matt can come across a bit stern, but I think he means it in an endearing way. Fun to watch.

I have ADHD too and having a different thinking mind can truly be a gift! Neurodivergent people are super creative and emphatic, they have a big heart and find joy in the smallest things, have unique thinking patterns or solution strategies ❤

Yes, everything you said sans ADHD: yet another label for what is unique and quirky...which schooling tries to diminish if not completely eradicate, hence only 20 minute lunch break and 20 minute break for recess in American public elementary schools, very limited arts/crafts, dance, and theater. This agenda of suppression is going to be history soon.

Matt and Jesse........ Watching the two of you guys is amazing. The way you interact with one another. Comical, funny, and also just so caring. You compliment one another. Soulmates.

I liked Jesse’s stable, I just love the LAND and pastures much more than the barn. I also like stalls with attached runs so the horses have more space to move around and go in and outside.

Jessie is right about letting the horse decide if it wants to be inside or out. You could accommodate stallions by providing them with large individual pastures adjacent to their stable. Horses are meant to move and are much happier and healthier if they are free to do so. Love your Unstable series!

Aunt Johnny here: This channel is one of my very favorites! I discovered it when Matt was moving his horse and himself to the Netherlands. I really liked how he showed the whole trip. Then the life you guys have built in these last years is so encouraging. The things you have accomplished (even when the world lost its mind) is just phenomenal! Being a horse owner myself I know full well how responsible you have to be with them. I would not ever change the decision to have horses. Even on the Winter snowy mornings when it is cold, icy and slippery. I always look forward to your videos. The best to you both and Happy Easter.

Matt's storytelling is very precise. Like looking at a high-quality photograph. Jesse's storytelling is like looking at a beautiful painting. You see it in your mind but also feel it in your heart.

I’m so glad Jesse and Matt seem to have a genuine love for each other and it shows in their talks.

Fair point on the horse hair. He forgets dogs shed too. There Are various ways to gather the shedding. (Besides vacuuming. Get a Roomba type to keep on top of the shedding time.)

I would like to see Jesse blindfolded and trying to guess the horses. I think it would be a lot of fun, since Matt already did it. 😁

I wasn’t a cat person, for the same reasons as Matt, until we rescued a cat. We had a 6 yr old rescued dog at that time and they figured out how to get along. Our life was enriched because of her so keep an open mind. If you have pus coming from your open sore, I suggest you see a doctor for antibiotics because it sounds like your cut is infected.

Not unless it's getting worse. The body knows how to heal. The reason we have so many antibiotic resistant bacteria and diseases is precisely because doctors gave antibiotics for things like that.

​@cattymajiv if there's pus coming from an open wound you should definitely see a doctor. They can decide whether you can have local antiseptic treatment or if you need antibiotics. Yes, it's true we need to limit antibiotic use where possible, but if you have a nasty infection you will need them - sepsis kills.

Regarding ADHD, I see a lot of comments saying “no nothing is wrong.” I think that’s a bit negative because there’s nothing “wrong” with being neurodivergent if Jesse is. At the very least he can get evaluated if he feels the need to. And if he were to be diagnosed with ADHD or any other neurodivergent thing, it’s perfectly fine. Please do not diminish people who are neurodivergent! Someone’s mind working differently than what’s considered “typical” is not a negative thing. Their mind just works differently. Please be more open minded!

What a great comment, neuro diversity is not a ‘problem’ it is just a unique individual way of thought process that neuro typical do not understand - I teach many children and adults that are neurodiverse - dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism - these individuals are unique and certainly not at a disadvantage when it comes to training and riding horses 🐴🌅

The BEST home remedy for wounds comes from NZ - Manuka Honey - also for horses.

Everyone's minds process thoughs differently. Just because your mind jumps around doesn't mean there is anything wrong. You learn how to control your gifted imagination to solve problems in your way which is the correct way for you.

Matt!!!! You treat a cat like a dog and reap the rewards of a loving, loyal animal as a result. I love cats. Mine come when called and are just as loving as a dog would be. As for the hair - make your cat a barn cat - and they will kill the mice for you. Also cats are generally very good with horses and horses like their quiet ways.

My cats have my dog completely under control

Matte. Get a pen and look carefully around the wound for redness. Draw a line along the edge of the red. Next morning, check to see if the redness has gone past the line. If it has it means infection is building! Please seek medical help.

I'd like to contribute an idea for your PODCAST: Many of us 498K are outsiders to the Horsing community. We don't even have the basic knowledge and vocabulary around horses. Maybe you can have a PODCAST episode(s) "Horses 101: stables and terminology" where you take us through completely foreign concepts like 'dressage' or 'turn-out', and many other terms and concepts that we hear you say every week, but have no idea what they actually mean. Like what are all the different areas of a stable and outdoor/indoor property called? What are the time tables, are horses moved in and out every day? Do they ever move about on their own? Etc. etc. etc. Literally starting at almost square one for many of us!

My dog ran after a cat and it just sat there so he had to run past and pretend he wasn't going to chase it.. 😂

Jesse, i love how you share your journey with ADHD so openly! It definitely is nothing to be afraid of. I have been diagnosed with ADHD 5 years ago. For me, the ADHD diagnosis has never been a label, but the key to understanding, accepting and loving myself and my diversity, to efficiently work on my weaknesses and even turn some of them into strengths. And to shape my world to fit me instead of the other way around. Never ending process of course 😉 l wish you all the best on your journey!

I think it’s more that Jesse wasn’t super kind to himself when he said he only had girlfriends at school equals gay, as some sort of stereotype or insult. That’s why Matt was like ah no don’t say that! But yeah, I hope they know that they can be however open they want to be with us, we’d love them anyways and already do the way they are ❤

I think its because of the way Jesse used it. Depending on the context it's a meme saying "GAY" the way he did. Sometimes people use it humorously and sometimes people use it to be derogatory. But really i think it was just jokes between them/Matt not expecting him to be so expressive and saying it like that.🤷🏾‍♀️😂

Stable cats are great! You don't need to keep it at home, they sleep with the horses. They love to roam anyways and they keep critters away.

There is another utube channel who does nothing But Stable/Barn cats. He calls them "working cats". They all have names, vaccinated, fed and have a whole barn shed to themselves. He takes them in on the evening then releases them in the morning to do their job.

You two are so perfect as a team, each with qualities that the other can appreciate. Certainly had me laughing while just being yourselves. I was thinking maybe if you had pictures of all the beautiful horse facilities and the individual rooms as in tac rooms, et cetera It would help create a really nice visual for both you and us who aren't able to see in our heads, (just a thought). But surprises are nice too. I believe you two would have been friends at school, but the best is that you are friends and partners now, and that's what counts. I am all for people living their lives as privately or as openly as they wish, however, I also feel that positive queer representation is crucial in destroying stereotypes and stigma and being more open also allows you to control your own narrative. I love this podcast so much. Your energy is amazing, I love the banter, but also the genuine connection you guys have. I love the mix between personal behind the scenes stories and horse life. 21:28 .........Matt, although I could care less about anyone's sexuality, as I believe that is a part of someone but does not define them.....I can understand on a business level why you would say to Jesse "don't say that"....but on a human level, being told not to express yourself is quite a horrible thing to do. Yes, even in 2024 it is still difficult, dangerous and scary to be openly gay in society. However, with that being said, I'd prefer to be openly gay than an [openly] close-minded Christian National....I choose love, peace and good will over hatred, bigotry and intolerance. Whatever your relationship is with each other, isn't my business, I sub to you both because of your abilities as horsemen and businessmen as well as Jesse's humour and your gardening acumen. There are many types of people on this planet, some are overly boisterous, while some are content to live quietly in the 'burbs'....but all of us have a right to live as we please...just as long as we don't hurt others. So finally, I believe that hiding from hate, bigotry and intolerance only promotes that sentiment , and suppresses the good people have.

I think why Matt said "dont say that" in reaction to Jesse saying gay was more because its a bit of a (negative) stereotype to call someone gay simply because he only had girlfriends, and not necessarily because of something else 🙂 people always called me gay (negatively) because i also always only had girlfriends. In the end they were right (in my case at least, not saying thats the case about Jesse!)but like, its always said in a mocking way, you know. When no one should be ashamed of their sexuality 😊

Oh god he didn't say so ! I have a straight male friend who only has female friends and it is so annoying when people assume he is gay when he is not, just because he has female friends. Matt said no to the stereotype ! Also, I really really love how they keep their private lives private as I am so sure they have their own solid reasons for that.

Matt is so domineering in conversation, Jesse is so gentle in his manner.

I can relate to Jesse a lot more in how he describes approaching things. His stable description is about function than about style. Airiness & ability for horses to move in / out & space / fields. It's about functionality. Matt is wanting to discuss "architecture & interior design". -- Good idea to hire someone to do things you don't enjoy in your business. I waaay too often did things in my business that I hated. That's not how to live a life. --

Matt and Jesse I know this is completely out of context to this video but I was scrolling through KZread and came across Horse Humane Society in the USA. It is heartbreaking 💔 😢 these people are not allowed to go to auctions anymore to rescue horses that will go to slaughter because the people running the auctions have banned them from going there. So now people are sending them trailer loads of horses because the Humane Society is offering money for each horse. Its minimal. You must see the state of these horses. I sobbed when I watched it. These people are doing an amazing job and they need help from anyone.who is willing to donate just to help these poor precious helpless horses. I had to stop watching, I could not anymore thats how bad it is. Go watch their channel on KZread 😢😢

I agree! Jesse may be a bit ADHD but he is lovely and endearing just the way he is. If he feels he struggles in his day-to-day life, then by all means looks for aids that can help but as far as being a people person, Jesse is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing; it is sweet when Jesse gets distracted by beautiful flowers or animals in the field and loses his train of thought or interrupts Matt. It always makes their videos more entertaining, it's an unexpected bonus rather than a negative so I wouldn't want that to change.

Love this episode, of course. Would they have been friends in school? Hah! They found each other from half a world away...they would have obviously have come together that much sooner. The Universe was organized to bring them together. M: "I have never really lived alone." J: "Let's keep it that way." That may be my favorite exchange between them.

I just saw Matt's arm at the end of this video. it looks bad. Have you been to the doctor? Should be properly cleaned, possibly need antibiotics if infected, which the pus would indicate has happened. I ignored something like that until it started to be painful and the doctor yelled at me for not coming in sooner, said it could be dangerous. Don't be dismissive, get medical attention.

Matt talks to Jesse very sternly sometimes, but I think he means it in a fun way. I believe he depends on Jesse for a stable friendship. They know each other so well.
