Despite the title and the description, the video doesn't actually explain the differences between Web Applications and Websites.

All web apps are websites but not all websites are web apps. A static one page html site is a website but not a web app, but a mortgage calculator website is also a web app.

@@Sk8forsocks I hope to create a web based platform in the future, primarily it would be a website and then, how can I switch it to an application? (Note that I am just in the final year of my high school and just have basic idea about html and css and hoping to learn JavaScript soon)

@@elmiabir7059 If you use JavaScript to implement logic to your website, then you can make it a web-browser-based app. Then, you can use the same logic to write code in Python, Java, or C to recreate the exact same logic as your web app (you might have to use a library like PyQt5, QtDesigner, Java WindowBuilder, and Java Swing for the UI). Then you can use pyinstaller to convert your code into an exe file.

@@kamrankhandemo true. But I'm sure he wants to make more of mobile apps than apps that only work on pc. Just use react native since you already know javascript.

What’s the difference between a web app and a real app please? If I download an app, say a bank app how is that different from just typing in their website name and going to their website?

The app you download from play store is an android/native app that is developed entirely in a different manner. Facebook has both the products, Web App & Mobile App.
