Ultimates were my intro to the marvel universe. I grew up reading them as they came out and loved them. Now I cringe so hard rereading them - especially how they treat all the young women. I love seeing your reactions to some of the wild stuff. You gotta bite the bullet and do ultimatum lol

well its interest in the sense of how real in some case is the dystopia of the ultimate universe

Ultimates 2 I think is a better story then ultimates 1 but the problem I have with this book like other mark miller stories is that all the characters are jerks and none of them are likable in my opinion.

Man, I hate almost all of Mark Millar's stories, I don't understand why all the characters have to be complete assholes; That's why I hate the ultimate universe. I think that after Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Thor has one of the best stories, at least he is the best on the Ultimates team. It's a great story line with the issue of reincarnation and powers coming from technology. It's a cool thing. Nice vest.

Hey Blake T. Wilde, great video I hope you do volume 2 sometime in the future! Hey, I have a suggestion for you, and you can do this later since this has nothing to do with the ultimates. I would like for you to look at Hawkman by Robert Venditti. The first two volumes are drawn by Bryan Hitch and it is really good both the art and the story.

Thanks for covering this. This was one of my favorite comics when I was younger but I didn't think it would age well.

Despite their flaws I genuinely love Millar's Ultimates. I just fid them to be a fascinating alternate take on these characters.

The only Ultimates storyline I enjoyed was The Ultimates Volume One, "Super- Human". It was a great introduction to the team and i liked the top tier art by Bryan Hitch. I liked the final sixth isue where the Ultimates, or most of them were all interacting with each other. I like that. Super-heroes sitting around and talking.to each other. I didn't care for Janet and Hank's fight, though. I liked the battle with the Hulk..for the most part, save for some of the Hulk's stupid dialogue. But then, the series had to be ruined by Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and their incest filled example...Thanks for taking something great and ruining it, Marvel. You can tell an adult story without going all perverted, Marvel and in fact, I'd say adult readers would actually prefer a sense of restraint. I know, because I am an adult. I will take an Silver Age comic over anything that The Ultimates series had to offer after this any day of the week. I love the Silver Aie. It was awesome. ANd as for what Ultimate universe stories I'd recommend- Marvel Team-up issues 6, , and 8-the three part story featuring Spider-man, Daredevil And The Punisher. It was one of the best things from the Ultimate Universe. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to celebrating Memorial Day by reading what in my opinion, is DC Comics' greatest Crisis Crossover-FINAL CRISIS. Have a safe and blessed Memorial Day, everyone.

From what i have seen the "new"ultimate universe is a sequel to the previous rather than what i would call a "new ultimate universe", which would be a fresh start from zero reimagining the characters to be more grounded

Even though I fear for your mental health by exposing yourself to so much Ultimate material, I have to admit that it's always fun to hear your thoughts on this Ultimate Edgefest, keep up the awesome work 😎

I need to collect and read the volumes of Ultimates and Ultimates 2.

I'll never forgive the ultimate avengers animated movie for making me think the ultimate universe was good.

Hopefully, the new Ultimates series will be better.

I think there's something to be said a bout the ultimate comics, they are not very good, but seeing the darker versions of some of the most colorful heroes is really compelling
