I’m English and my first trip to Russia was 2002, and then 2004 I returned to buy a house and live. All my friends said Russia was frozen all year, everything was grey and I would be abducted by the mafia and shot. I told them Dr Zhivago was a movie and Russia wasn’t like that. I arrived shortly after the dark days of the 90’s. Everything was cash based, so to buy a house I had to bring cash from the UK. Of course I couldn’t declare this at the airport in Moscow, so I hid it everywhere. 70 thousand dollars in 20 dollar bills. My first New Year's eve after buying a house I was in my local Магнит looking at labels on beer trying to decide what to buy. A Russian husband and wife asked if I needed help. I told them I was English and didn't know what was a good beer so they invited me to their home for the New Year celebration. I've loved Russia ever since.

American cities are a dystopia crime ridden nightmare, but geographically, most of America is not the cities where it is safe and clean. America also is not really one country, it was founded as separate states. Although that has been diminished, much of that individuality of the states does remain. The states are incredibly diverse and so different that they really have no business being one country. The way Americans generalize the rest of the world is not much different than the way America is generalized. So many people in American cities have never left their city and have no concept how rural Americans live much less Russia.

The majority of americans do not travel overseas but it is not because they don’t want but because they can’t afford it, that’s the truth. Since the cost of living in the USA is so expensive, it is almost impossible to travel outside the US for most of the American middle class.

The majority of US people, especially the youngsters don’t even know where Russia is, asked where Ukraine is they couldn’t point it out on a map. Agreed they get their views from news, films, not actual facts or visits. Social media has helped in people getting a wide variety of perspectives. @@user-mn2ez4op2z yes, I did in double speed. Again same discussion points which were give hundred of times already. Russia is nice, clean, safe..walking in the park, hollywood movies make bad picture and blablabla. It is correct that American people do not care about Russia that much. The other way round Russia, and especially its rulers are obsessed with the US. The rulers needed an enemy to unite the people behind them, therefore 10 years of propaganda were spread all over the Russian people about the "US/Collective West". When you are not making sightseeing clips only, but touching these political, media, propaganda topics and you have not a single point of critic about Russia then it is stupid one-sided promo only. Interesting discussion points: - vertical of power in Russia - democracy/dictatorship - freedom of speech - where is the oposition gone /rhetoric question - free press - free elections - right to protest - killing and being killed maybe Expat American can visit rural areas where every second guy was mobilized and tell them how nice Russia is. Just a joke - I know that all this will not happen, but these one-sided feel-good clips are just ridicolous

Some of the people from each country can be friends I am pretty sure. I do not have bad feelings for the people there but with US support of Ukraine I think many Russians would not want me there even though I have absolutely no control of what the US Government does, I understand those sort of feelings. Especially if a family lost their son or daughter from an American made weapon of some sort. If I could be cleared to visit by Russian authorities and feel somewhat welcome, there are historical buildings I would like to see but more importantly experience the culture.

I would like to know what parks this guy is talking about when he says he can't walk through them at night in the USA. I have walked through many parks and have never seen anything dangerous. By the way, the vast majority of the parks I have been to in the USA are closed at night. Perhaps he is talking about Central Park in New York City at night. But that does not make all of America like that.

To be fair I think it’s more expensive for Americans to fly to get away from America, considering we are separated by two huge oceans. I love to travel but it’s something we can’t just do so easy. That said there are a lot of Americans afraid to travel.

I felt uncomfortable watching this. I absolutely love your solo vlogs about Moscow life which, if anything, promote a positive image about today's Russia. Love you (as always) ❤❤ 🇦🇺

You do not like me? 😁 You don’t want to see Lisa walking with a Man? 😁 Seriously it helps our channels to grow if we team up and channels need to grow to keep operating to be able to do solo shows.

I like this video ❤ there's good and not so good people, places, things in every country. I don't think the Russian government is trying to harm anyone, I think they're just trying to protect their people and their culture 🤷🏻‍♀️ (it seems like Russians take pride in their culture) Russia probably looks at the west like a rowdy, bratty, disrespectful child throwing tantrums for every little thing lol

Former cold war Marine here. Was always interested in seeing with my own two eyes what was really going on in Russia. The first time I visited was in December, 2014. I flew from Hong Kong (65 degrees F) 8 hours north to a city named Khabarovsk in the far east to visit some people I had met on KZread. While landing it looked like the north pole. Except for extreme winter cold (be prepared).. What I found was like nothing I had been told. A beautiful, immense land. With a great people and culture. Absolutely stunning women and smart, very well behaved children. Great restaurants and shopping. A city of 500,000 people. Compared to any big city you can think of in America, it's an extremely safe place. Is life easy? Not on this planet. Driving around the city is not for the feint of heart, especially in the wintertime. Things change fast in Russia. Today they have a new airport, a KFC, a former McDonalds and a new world class mall. I was so impressed I went back every year (in the spring and summer) until the SMO. Oh, did I mention I don't speak Russian. I can't say it was always easy, but I never had a problem I couldn't resolve with the translator (try that in America). I hope to return one day again soon. Damn Joe Biden and his EU minions.
