This game looks like it’s going to have so many little references and lore bits. I can’t wait to see what wacky theories come about from it.

Tri is a pun with Tree (トリー not トライ), as Tri is also designed after Kodama which are tree spirits. And the gameplay mechanics follows after the Dorei japanese clay bell, that is a wish-granting charm, similar to Daruma. That's already why Deku Tree IS a tree, other than being based on Antiquity from the movie The Flight of Dragons. And the wooden Torii gates, which are actually named after birds, hence the Loftwing heraldry.

Tris ability is to create "echoes" which are basically copies of stuff so maybe she is the middle part of the trifotce which could be considered an "echo" of the actual triangle of the triforce?

The sword matches the design of Fuse symbol in TOTK

Tri the fairy looks a lot like those little Koco creatures you see in “Sonic Frontiers.” Just wanted to point that out.

I'd never thought about the Triforce / Goddesses having a 'middleman' conduit - that makes sense tbf! Sorta interesting as well that all of the 3 Triforce holders that we've never seen Zelda make a wish on the full artifact. I wonder what she'd request...?

the 4! triangles behind the fairy, don't actually disappear Thay just move above the echoes! The triangles are basically a “magic meter” . 4 triangles, so 4 echoes at one time! when we 1st see the fairy we only see 3 triangles and then later 4 indicating over the adventure of the game you can increase the # of triangles / echoes you can have! just like you can with hearts! So you could all so say the fairy is not creating matter out of nothing, but rather it is transforming part of its self in to things! And yes some echoes take more then one triangle to make!

I’m not sure where this falls on the timeline but the first thought I had was that maybe this game could be an explanation as to why we dont see the triforce in botw/totk and why it shows up in zelda’s hand when she uses her powers

It looks like the Koco from Sonic Frontiers.

Ah yes Force Gems the currency of Four Swords Adventures. They sorta replace rupees in that game and have the same coloration and value.. so.. maybe force gems are a different form of Rupees, the ancient form of rupees infact who came back in Four Sword Adventures? or... a new form since we know Rupees hold magic due to how Rupoors work. Maybe... Rupees are tied to godlike entities like Blupees who make new ones appear... who can turn into bubble frogs who spit out their own gems... who are tied to the lord of the mountain who's some deity of it's own. infact in Tears of the kingdom, when you give an apple to the frog shrines wich are mostly honored by SHEIKAH, the Lord of the mountian appears and shows you where the bubbulfrogs are hidden. AN ODD CONNECTION NO? A god who appears at statutes of a frog mostly honored by sheikah and if you give it an apple he appears and is tied to blupees who are sorta tied to force gems... who are sorta tied to tri? Also that's not the last time we see the single upside down tri-piece and force gems... infact.. that game has some.. interresting ties to this tri-theory. Spirit tracks....

Tri: Ah, i've finally found ya, Zel!, i knew what happened to Link, he's the damsel now!, so you'll have to return the favor! but i dont think using a sword would be great for you... i have a better idea in mind... what i created is the Trirod, a Rod that makes stuff from my floating Triangles, they're called Echoes, alot of things can be echoes, even bad guys can be your allies! so its dangerous to go alone, GET CREATIVE!

Tri is 100% the bad guy Edit: "Mysterious Fairy" ... meets Zelda when she's in jail... she screams traitor companion

I mean... I hate to break it to you... but usually, as video game tropes go, your closest ally is the one that betrays you. Especially if they come from the "dark realm" ... look at Princess Hilda. If y'all wanna go into this game with rose-tinted glasses, go ahead.... but Tri is betraying us 100%

Zelda Lore went over a bit of the Japanese side and seems that Tri name is more closer to a Forest spirit (not sure it's the same but might have a relation to the Koroks), which explain why Tri look like a Korok. But it's a bit confusing why they chose that over something related to Nayru, if we going for Wisdom.

I think you're at least spot on about the Fi comparison. The spirit of the Master Sword and the Essence of the Triforce The Fujibayashi era of games have redefined Zelda's role and the mechanics of the Triforce. It's possible Zelda just has the full Triforce within her from the start and Link's disappearance necessitated the essence's intervention via this "mysterious fairy"

Just curious, do you think the glowing stones seen in the trailer could be related to something like the lumenous stones, or Zonite from the Wild era games? Also, do you think it is a coincidence that both Tears and Echos both have gaping holes in the landscape seemingly leading to a dark dimension?

From the trailer, they appear to be fast-travel points as we see icons for them on the map and even a non-activated one next to a cave in that BotW-esque shot.

What if it's actually this game is actually Zelda's compartmentalization of her psyche. Where "Zelda", finally snapped. In this game, Zelda is simply a young Princess who believes her knight, Link, will save her. When Link fails to save her, her life (and an entire story) flashes before her eyes, creating an entirely unique perspective upon Hyrule -- The world is "crumbling into pieces", both metaphorically and psychologically for Zelda. You have to escape the voids of her evil, destructive thoughts while battling the guilt of letting Link die "for" you, Princess Zelda. And Tri, in this instance, is her outward self; Her projected psyche trying to get her back to whole again And get this. Tri duplicates objects because Zelda wants to duplicate Link after watching Link, her knight, die trying to save her. Rated M for Mature. It'll fit perfectly with my new idea for "Wand" of Gamelon, where she realizes Link is gone forever and she'll need to replace him. Okay I'm done.

What if the upside down triforce piece on the hylian shield or on the shadow medalion is not the middle part of the triforce but one of the parts of the lowrule triforce

nice to see this channel blip back into my feed after.... an entire year?!? geez. youtube. get your stuff together. interesting theory though. I didnt make that first connection that tri might be related to the triforce. but if beast ganon exists, I have to wonder if tri is some other artifact that awoke because the fabric of reality is being warped as we see in the trailer. the main question being if ganon has a portion of the triforce or not. which would (imo) mean tri isnt from the triforce. tetraforce is way out there but the light force theory might be going somewhere.

Interesting that Tri is a Fairy but it looks like they based the design on a Bubble (Anti-Fairy)

Has the tri force ever granted an evil wish though? He's gotten pieces before but it seems like the triforce itself somehow keeps victory just out of grasp. Like at the end of wind waker. Ganon had Won hands down and then the king comes along an goes Yoink! Flood this fool!

Hard disagree. It's fee... Nintendo names plenty of characters after musical solfeggio... Mipha.. Sidon (MI FA... SI DO) .... or in OoT... Fado, Mido... Fi is the solfeggio pronunciouniation for a TRITONE... a flat 5th or a sharp 4th. Tritone? Triforce? Yeah, it's fee. Edit: BotW's compositions for Mipha's theme literally go 3... 4 3... 4 3... 4... 3.... Mi... Fa Mi... Fa Mi Fa Mi

You can obviously pronounce it as you would like, but canonically/officially there is a right way to say it :) For example, we wouldn't say Tree-Force. Its the TriForce. "Tri" and "Fi" have the same pronounciation.

@@granddaddyotaku636not exactly. The whole “Fai” thing is due to mistranslation. Fi is a Latin word. Latin pronunciation dictates “fee”. If it were Phi, you’d have a point, but we don’t deal with Greek etymology in most of Zelda. It’s more Latin based in the English versions

Now using Occam's razor and knowing that the letter "i" in English is pronounced "ai", and can therefore be used to accurately transliterate the original name, there's no reason to assume that this is somehow the one exception.

Can we finally accept reading Fi as "FA I" since it is the way it is read in Japanese and every language adapted so it could be read as such. The only time "I" MUST be read as in english, the english speaking people actively avoid it.

Could be that each Triforce piece contains a remnant essence of its associated goddess, and Tri is the collective (plural) essence. Like the Trinity in Christianity.
