@@fxm5715 That does assume the JIG is precise... If you can make this pendulum JIG precise enough, then you can probably make the V cutout also precise, e.g. by angling a table saw, and it's much easier too.

@@akosyoutub Certainly, a precise v-block would be optimal in this situation, but you may not always even be holding in a v-block, such as when using an indexing head or a collet block, or just stuck in a drill vice. Yes, there are more precise ways to center find, like dialing it in with and edge finder, etc., but this tool is specifically a fast, good enough option for many things. Not for everything, not for high precision, but handy to have in the toolbox.

If you think that's accurate, you're sorely mistaken. There is no guarantee that you have drawn the red line exactly as you should. The smaller a shape is, the less precisely it is possible to connect the desired corners. And here it is quite small. It's a good idea in theory, but it's imprecise in practice.

I do like it and would be satisfied just making the tool, and then would have to find some circle vertex intensive projects. I especially like the red scribed indicator, nut my 8th grade industrial arts shop teacher would have yelled at you for shaping the parts on the belt sander.
