I remember going to pattaya, well living in Jomtien for a year back in 2004, and i drank a hell of a lot every night of year, for the full year partying hard as i was young then, i went back 2 weeks ago and the money i now needed for one night (with girl costs included) was the same i was paying for quite a few nights back in 2004 haha. I was spending 12,000 - 20,000 baht on drinks alone in the gogo bars 2 weeks ago 😕, never mind the stupid 4,000 baht girl fee and 1,500 bar fines. That's just for ST too 😆 I remember the gogo girls costing 2000 baht plus 800 - 1000 bar fine back in 2004, and i always got LT for that price. Now i have to get a loan every time i want a holiday in Pattaya hahaha 🤣🤣 ... the price increases and the almost 35-40% exchange rate (I'm crap with percentages so its probably more lol) drop has killed it off for me. But my bank loves me more now, there's always a silver lining 🤪. Well, in the end i started using freelancers (charging 1,500 - 2000, so basically the same prices i was paying for gogo girls back in 2004/2005), had some pretty good girls and quite a few annoying as fk ones too, one even had her ipod on and singing in her own world oblivious to everything while doing the do lol, I've never, ever had that happen before from any Thai girl. I'm laid there thinking wtf. Then she has nerve to get off, search/look through my items in my bag on the desk in front of me and wondered why i got a bit miffed with her when she also demanded money for a taxi. Sorry love, that come out your fee. Now GTFO out my room, after that she also demanded i take her out with me around walking st. Maybe i should have paid for her into the psychiatrists office😆 Did meet one really nice lass, i've got her booked next week for a few nights before i go into the gogos. I really need to try some beer bars this time, any recommendations?

Your hotel is your home-away-from-home. It's true that you can get a room for only the functional minimum (shower and sleep), but the nicer the room the you get, the nicer your overall experience is going to be, even if you only come-and-go from the room.

This is a good video and a great guide. Like you mention it’s impossible to gauge the cost as it’s each to their own. I’ve holidayed there 12 times and each and every time I’ve spent a fortune. Definition of a 2 week millionaire! You can certainly rack up huge bills in bars when you’ve had a few and get carried away. I also seem to tip a lot and buy things from on street sellers that I don’t need. Most people tend to learn but I seem to get worse each time! I like to eat at nice places and always take a girl and sometimes a friend or 2 of hers. Taxis everywhere, nice food, lady drinks, bar fines, kamagras, fake watches, 12 hours drinking everyday, siam siam rooftop, sky gallery, day trips, it all adds up super quick but can be done on a good budget if needed and you’re sensible enough. I stay at the KTK hotel which is really nice and not too expensive. My longest stay was 2 months in Jan 2017, total spend with flights and hotels was around £19,000. Landed back in Manchester without a pot to piss in but had the time of my life. Incredible place. I was that addicted to the place I actually went for 4 nights once when I had 5 days off work. Mental.

You need 8 - 10k a day if you want a decent holiday with company. All over town they have price fixed lady drinks at 150 minimum, bar fines are 500 minimum for short time. Girls are asking rediculos money 2-3 k short time and 3k+ long time. Truth is this is now policy as the salaries have been reduced and the commission doubled. Welcome to the Pattaya reset to western ethos, lappdancing waitresses service only. Pattaya is now fucked! I forgot to mention the new Mafia Guinness price 240 Baht a pint, it is now £70 for an afternoon session on Guinness. Trevor mate you are detached from reality... Lol

@Jerry Springer I did say 500 minimum incl beer bars, LK Metro shop house bars and GC's. Obviously Agogos are much more. I've just spent a month on the road and traveld 2, 600klm all around the North, NE and central, Pattaya isn't much cheaper anymore and since Covid reopening they have purposely increased cost by 20% + covert Covidly in Pattaya (Mafia price fixing) ... Lol Bangchan bars are exactly the same as Pre Covid. 300 Baht bf'n LT or st Lady drinks 100 baht St 800 - 1000 Lt1000- 1500 Beer 65 -100 Thereis an agenda being pushed in Pattaya to bring it in line price wise with Phuket and Bangkok. Well I am the usual two week millionaire who just don't care because I don't have the option to come that often, so I just do whatever I want. In bath I usually use: Plane tickets/transport to and from Pattaya: 30.000 baht, Hotel for three weeks: 20-25.000 baht, Daily spending 8-10.000 baht. Every holiday for a 10 year period has been within this spending range - So a total holiday cost has usually been around 200-250k. An average of once every second year..... and I don't even drink any alcohol!

I believe the prices & costs mentioned might change since the timing of this video was made during Low Season where the prices were generally relatively lower as compared to High Season and Peak High Season like during Christmas, NYE and Songkran period btw....But one thing good when you have a long holiday at a specific place to bring down your cost is that you dont need to go all out on every single day, you could alternate between one day relax and bar-hopping/hunting, strictly solo without any ladydrinks, and the next day go full party mode:)

I bring about $3,000 - $ 4,000 (not including airfare) for a 1-2 week trip, but I admit to being the opposite of a Cheap Charlie! I stay at a budget mid-range hotel or guest house (Admire House on Soi Lengkee & Flipper Lodge "Soi 8"recommended). I enjoy eating a combination of Thai food and Farang food and occasional street food (Smokin Joes bbq, Benihana, Lek buffet,& P72 recommended). I go to agogos and gentlemen's clubs a couple times a trip, but mainly frequent beer bars. I have a long-time Thai companion, so this one factor probably contributes the most to my rather high budget, but she has a good attitude and keeps me entertained!

Costs are the same except for one category. 1.) Airfare = $1,500 (Flying from Hawai'i to BKK via, JAL, Korean Air or Asiana) 2.) Hotel = $2,000 (Hyatt in Pattaya/Landmark in BKK) 3.) Transportation = $150.00 4.) Food = $900 5.) My Drinks = $300 6.) Laundry Services = $60.00 7.) Excursions = $200 8.) Night time entertainment = $3,600 (After Reopening)/ $2,100 (Pre-virus era) Grand Total (After Reopening) = $8,710 or 305,982.29 Baht Grand Total (Pre-Virus) = $7,210 or 253,287.29 Baht Is Thailand still a good deal? Yup, primarily because of the low cost of lodging and food.

Great vid Trev. Such a tricky topic to tackle as it can vary so vastly. You could have a day in a Pattaya and spend 200baht food, 30-40 baht on baht bus, hotel 500baht, few 7/11 beers 250 baht, ST 1000baht - around 2000baht however you could easily drop 1500 baht on 3 western meals a day, 500 baht on taxis, proper drinking session in a bar 1500-2500, nice room 1200 baht, massage during the day 200-800 (pending your preferred massage type) GG bar LT 5000baht - bang that’s 11K!! The interesting thing is we’ve all probably had a day like the former that’s been even more enjoyable than more expensive day! Keep up the good work Trev 👍

But remember that not paying involve the girl potentially being too sticky or curious when you need to do your own business.

Great video, and sound advice, Trev. I’ve just booked a one-way flight Zurich - Phnom Penh on Lufthansa, with a stopover in BKK, where I’ll go off the trip, scrapping the flight from BKK to Phnom Penh… Like that, the flight was only a third (!) of what it would have been if I had booked the very same flight without the extra leg BKK - Phnom Penh (i.e., € 400.- for ZRH - BKK - PNH instead of € 1‘200.- for ZRH - BKK only!)…

Anywhere between 1500 to 2000 Thai baht for taxi to Pattaya. Best tip I can give... Head back to Bangkok three days before your flight. You want less sweat with timing ... Bangkok could be a lot of fun too. Be sure to visit the wood bar on soi 7... You will not be disappointed... Bring 1000 baht with ya... That includes tip

I got scammed in a go go bar in Bangkok, Soi Cowboy. I didn't know the difference between a go go bar and other types of bars. Don't go to go go bars in Bangkok, full stop. Basically what happened is the 2 girls ordered alcoholic beverages when they told me they would order sodas, and then when I decided to leave after 30 mn, the bar owner cheated on the number of drinks, she litterally TRIPLED the number of drinks ordered, she charged me over 4800 baht of drinks when I should have paid "only" 1800 baht for 6 drinks (at 300 baht per drink, which is already double the prices in Pattaya), That b*tch got angry, yelled at me and called the police on me when I refused to pay, contesting the number of drinks (and no, I wasn't drunk, I don't drink and only ordered fizz water for myself). I ran down the actual cost of the actual drinks in front of them but to no avail. I got away with 4000 baht, but I simply decided to completely skip Pattaya after this experience. I don't mind paying upfront if it's honest (I happily paid 4500 baht for a massage the day before), but I really don't like being scammed.

For 14 days in Pattaya. Day to get there, Day to get home (16 Days Total) Air fare Brisbane to BKK Return, around AU$850 (Buy now for late October) Accommodation (Opey De Place) AU$600 / 14000 THB + AU$100 transport to & from airport. I usually get hotel to have car waiting. (AU$50 / 1200 THB one way) I spend around AU$250 a day (Adjusted up from AU$200) = AU$3500 Total roughly AU$5050. I don't go to Walking St (haven't for many years) Stay out Go-Go bars also. I also don't stick to a budget. Very important, always have a backup plan to get more money for something unforeseen.

That is apprximately what I will spend. Approximate breakdown is $2500 for international and domestic transportation. $2000 for lodging, $2200 for food and meals. Another $2800 for activities and entertainment. This is similar to what I spend in back home minus international flight. I leave the flights, hotels and other associated cost out as they are paid well in advance and as you say, everyone is different and have preferences from a cheap accommodation to a fancy hotel. And also we all live in a different part of the world. I can get a return flights for 600$ AUD. But yeah 2k AUD was enough to have some good times without mentioning it was my first time so I could have probably saved money here and there as I was a newbie and also because I mainly drank in agogo and they are more expensive. I'm a big guy and I can sink a lot of alcohol before it starts to get me tipsy. Next time i'll buy a couple of bottles and start to drink before going out.

Spend a little extra on the hotel i recommend. You get so much value for money compared to Europe...for 50 Euros you get a really bad room in Europe, but in Pattaya for 50 Euros you get something that would cost you easily 150-200 Euros in Europe. Amazing value, don't cheat yourself form that experience, as it will give you a much better trip all together. Nothing is better than to jump in a nice pool next morning after a good night out. Maybe even 30 minutes in a great gym, just to be completely ready for a new night on the town. But as Sir Trevor always say "each to his own".

I try to cut costs as much as possible while in Thailand.. Depending on what time I get Into town, I'll take the shuttle bus from the airport into town and that's very cheap, or a grab ride if I get intown later at night. Also I tend to stick to freelancers and not hit up the go go or beer bars. Also I don't drink and I love street food 😀

Recommend an Airbnb instead of a hotel Half Thai food half western is definitely the best way to go. Skip the bar fine go to the night clubs. Koh Lan is a must. Sky Gallery is a must. Your plane ticket +3,000 American

Take your flight out and hotel cost. If you then had a budget of 8000-10,000 baht a day you are really going to have an amazing time. I personally drink at a lot of beer bars and the disco. It’s also hard to drink every day.

So I'm figuring 12,000 baht a day, you say I'm covered? That does not include flight or hotel & I have breakfast included.

Booked a flight with Thai Airways last September to go in October 2021 for £550, changed it twice due to circumstances so cost me another £300, just checked and my flight in August would be £680, again with Thai but I did see the same flight for £511 with Saudi Airlines. Accommodation consists of one months AirB&B in a one bed condo in Jomtien for £270, so definitely pays to shop around and much cheaper than the UK with its raging inflation.
