would a university forcing you to quarintine in your dorm count as false imprisonment? especially if they threaten to expell you if you are not in your dorm?

I really like this question -- it could be used on a practice exam. I know what conclusion I would reach. What do you think?

To be clear, I think the answer is no, this would not support a claim for false imprisonment based on the facts you describe, but an analysis would be helpful to understanding the tort. You might also start by looking at case law concerning orders to quarantine by state governments. This presents different facts but it might be a good start.
