Yes;you can still sue for damages to your name even when a person who defamed you has apologised.Defamation causes damage and an apology does not necessarily remove the damage that the words have caused.damage can also include your loss of confidence and esteem.defamation can also result in you being intimidated-for instance:you might resign from your job out of fear & intimidation.

A lawsuit is awarded to the plaintiff without the defendant's knowledge. The judge grants the plaintiffs to take the domains stating the granted lawsuit. Defendant finds out about the lawsuit by the domains taken. The defendant appeals the case, and the case gets dropped. Plaintiff refuses to return the domains and continues to leave the false information posted on the domains. What can the business owner do? The reports of the domains have been submitted to the officials with no response for years.

If someone called you derogatory names and then that peroson apologized after you called the police on them. The apology is not very sincere. Can you still sue them for slander? Thanks for the answer.
