I never realized how big a set-up SKY cycling have , its massive , Thank-you GCN and to SKY TEAM for a behind the scences look as to how much stuff and effort goes into running a team .

Wouldn't mind spending a couple of hours in their used parts bin.

Tom's face throughout this is priceless. He's not quite sure whether to be amazed or professional.

I like how Tom talks about 34 - 32 like it's for kids or climbs of 30%. I'm using a compact crank with a 11 - 32 cassette and still struggling on gradient half that! FFS!!

This is way more big, and well stocked than 90% of Local bike shops! And they need to have.

A wet dream for any cyclist.

Will a 9spd XT cassette work with a 9spd ultegra derailleur or are they switching derailleurs as well? It appears that they must work on 10spd from this video.

Yes it will - as long as you've got enough space for the chain to loop through, so probably a max of a 12-30 cassette unless you've got a long cage rear mech.

2:36 - Just realized something blatantly obvious I missed the first time around.... that XT cassette is only 10spd (as 11spd XT doesn't exist). Is that just old stock, or do they run Ultegra 10 derailleurs with that setup?

thechosendude it could be a hangover from 10spd days. At the Giro this year, they had Ultegra rear mechs on on the the Zoncolan day so that they could fit a larger 11 speed MTB cassette.

+Global Cycling Network but the 11 speed MTB cassette is either 40 or 42T (largest sprocket), I hardly think that an ultegra mech can go up a 40T sprocket. I am sure hey used 11-32t ultegra cassette

+Diana Cazacu Shimano does an 11-40 and an 11-42 MTB cassette. While Sram does a 10-42 and a 10-50 for MTB cassettes.

Bnadit Fleet For any of those big cassette combinations, you'd have to run a mountain rear derailleur, which is not compatible with road STI levers.
