What is the significance of the triumphal/triumphant entry? Why did the people put palm branches before Jesus during the triumphal entry?

The kingdom of God is within us. He comes to reside in us. Jesus said not to look for him but look for the fruits of his kingdom. He said they would know us by our love for one another, our fruits. 🌾🌾🌾 Thank you oh Jesus for despising the shame of death for us! Allelujah 🕊️📖

Why do Christians name "Palm Sun-day" after the "sun" not the "Son"?

probably because Christians were using the Gregorian calendar where the first day of the week was called "Sunday". It would be difficult to call it "Palm first-day-of-the-week day"

@@chloesnethouse Yes, Pope Gregory XIII became a creator of times and seasons just as God was before him, so I guess we accept the authority of the Pope over the calendar that God set in place in the Bible that Jesus observed in His lifetime, as the Pope is a Christian and things created and cited in the Bible can be changed at will as the Pope is the higher force. The Jews still refuse to attribute the days of the week to the names and worship other gods as they feel it would offend the LORD God of Israel who named the days of the week in Genesis at Creation numerically, not after gods or celestial bodies, which the Jews would not dare to alter. It would take Gentile Christians to do that and uphold it in their worship services unto God. In Israel today, the only country and people with "God" in its name ("EL" is a contracted form of "ELOHIM" the Hebrew word for "God"), the days of the week remain the same as God first uttered them in Genesis without too much tongue-twisting as you suggest (probably because Jesus or God never commanded us to keep a "Palm Sun-day" anyway). The only day not named numerically is the seventh day which is given the proper name "Shabbat" or "Sabbath" which is the Hebrew word for "rest." Thus the first day of the (working) week ("six days shalt thou labour") is called YOM RISHON ("First Day"), YOM SHENI ("Second Day"), YOM SHLISHI ("Third Day"), YOM REVI'I ("Fourth Day"), YOM HAMISHI ("Fifth Day"), YOM SHISHI ("Sixth Day") and SHABBAT ("rest"). The word for "palm" can either be "DEKEL" meaning a palm tree or TAMAR meaning the species of palm, namely the DATE palm, so it needn't be such a tongue-twister after all, but "Palm Sun-day" is a Papal creation, not something ordained by God or instructed by Jesus to be observed. One could say YOM RISHON DIKLI (First Day of the Dekel or palm tree) or YOM RISHON TAMARI (First Day of the tamar or date palm), but Hebrew does not really format itself in the same manner as English (which is more of a mongrel language) as Hebrew tends to be more compact and logical, so YOM DEKEL or YOM TAMAR would be the more usual format, rather than "Palm first-day-of-the-werk day" as you suggest. If I was the Pope I would have named it just "PALM DAY" in a similar vein to the compactness of Hebrew, which would avoid the scenario of having to evoke the act of worshipping the sun every time Christians meet to remember this incident in Jesus' life, if in fact it occurred on the first day of the week at all. I doubt if any Christians care at this stage whether the evocation of false gods is an insult to the God they claim to worship or not, as it certainly never seems to impinge on any of them. Perhaps it will take God's own comments on the matter when we relay our lives, thoughts, words and deeds before the Creator of the Universe in eternity, when maybe there will be less reference to Saturn, the sun, and other worshipful deities when we are in His Presence. Until then it seems we can do as we like with impunity, for it seems to bother very few. "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my God and my Redeemer." (Hardly seems practical in preventing us evoking false gods.) 🌿
