On the Micheal room: the Mimic story talks about how David and the Mimic created a mad up language that looks like hieroglyphics, so it’s possible that the Mimic is also connected to the recreation of Micheal’s Room. The spoiled elements of the epilogue seem to imply that Mimic1 acts like the central part of a system of mimic endos that observe behaviour in different locations. It’s possible that there might be mimics that end up disconnected from the main system (perhaps that is what is going on with the Endos in the Pizzaplex with the ‘training area’ posters. Since SB is all about split personalities (Vanessa, Daycare Attendant, and now Gregory) Mimic1 is possibly having a similar break. One side being the agony fueled purple guy side, while the other is more naive and trying to (re)create a family, making stuff like the post it room and Micheal’s room.

@Sub Zero No. The mimic pretty much replicates what people think William Afton is from all of the rumors and theories. There is a huge leap on how William is actually like in the games and what the fans think of him. Here’s a hint. Scott does think of Magenta as a color that’s completely unique from purple and demonstrates this in Midnight Motorist. Scott also featured William Afton in Midnight Motorist and Fruity Maze as someone who buried his own Springlock ass in the MCI Killer’s backyard. Aka, the MCI Killer’s house doesn’t belong to William Afton. William potentially slept with the Killer’s wife, but that’s a whole can of Ballora we’re not ready to open.

i think the blob now being a mass of agony from all the people the mimic has killed would make sense. The gorry detail the books go into on how horrific these deaths are also mentions how much agony the character is feeling while the mimic is killing them. The book the teens find also mentions how it functions like a springlock suit. You can literally just put a different shell on the same endo, which tells us why fazbear ent. would want the endo in the first place, and gives a hint on how burntrap has a fleshy corse instead of bones.

Maybe That Could explain Why BurnTrap has Flesh on him…..BurnTrap AKA Mimic has been using the flesh of the people he’s killed to make his body. Hey, maybe The Mimic was even controlling GlamRock Bonnie the night he disappeared…….Controlled him into entering Gator Golf where GlamRock Bonnie got decommissioned so the mimic can use his parts for his Body explaining why there are extra GlamRock parts on BurnTrap.

There was a small theory on the Mimic seeking out familiarity with Vanessa (Abused by her father which the Mimic technically was) and Greogy (Wizards fav apprentice, brown eyes and hair I think like David). Idk HOW it'd know maybe from the Therapy recordings or being connected to them in some way. Hard to tell but food for thought

i like the idea that that endoskeletons that we see in fnaf 1 and 2 were important to the history

Well copycat killers are a thing unfortunately, so personally doesn't bother me too much. Even though it isn't truly mimicking Afton as it's potentially killing both kids and adults.

I feel like the mimic was a retcon made after the reception of burntrap was a very loud “please go away” as well as mockery with peepaw. I mean, seriously, everything in the true ending points to it being afton with the vanny hideout, the Blob, and the files names, but then these books come along, insert themselves into the timeline with GGY only to introduce the mimic, a character that tries its best to look like afton with flesh and rabbit outfits. it just seems like scott panicking after pulling a dream theory again and retconning a new answer to please fans just like SL did with dream theory.

@@jeanduresau and I wouldn’t even consider the idea if a retcon being possible if it weren’t for fnaf’s history of last minute changes and retconning stuff at every turn. just looking at Security breach, which had the same amount of dev time as the books, shows that whatever happened to that game when it started vs the final product in terms of story and just… everything in general is completely different to the final game. now imagine having to plan out a bunch of books about said project at the same time, that sounds like hell. and considering how these books have a long time to go until it even reaches its ending, its more than plausible that some things have changed or are gonna change from the original plan. that and this happened with frights, Eleanor being the true villain was very clearly not the intended finale for the stingers considering how obviously rushed it was. thats why i believe it being a retcon is plausible, its happened before and has ties to a game that had a long and troubled development history.

What if the mimic represents a self learning AI to develop the animatronics behavior for the pizzaplex that had burntrap added to its animatronic list and learn from him, spreading his killer behavior to all the other animatronics and Freddy wasn’t affected in safe mode because it disables the self learning abilities for cases just like what we see in game

I'm a bit mixed on this, but I will admit, the idea of the Mimic is interesting, and if Afton is indeed gone for good (I hope not (yes, I'm that unoriginal)), then the Mimic would certainly make a good new villain!

Question: If the Mimic is responsible for ALL of the current going ons in the story, how do Vanessa and Gregory get possessed? Like how does the Mimic with no supernatural ability manage to possess and control people like machines? Also what would be the point of everything Patient 46 did if the evil going ons in the pizzaplex was just because the mimic was installed? Gregory wouldn’t have to do anything to tamper with things, it has all already been tampered with? Idk there are just some parts of this that are confusing to me, I’m not entirely against it though! Edit: Another question to think about is just what are the mimics motivations? In my opinion my only gripe with this idea is that the character would really have no motivation other than “Do what I saw William do” which at that point just feels like “Here’s William Afton but hollow and without purpose”

Along with this, why the og Springtrap suit that mimic it's using it's almost "new" and his exact location if the suit it's basically a lot of ashes with little resemblance to a bunny trapped inside the ruins of Fazbear's fright ? Or why the mimic knows how to do an exact copy of Michael's room if basically no one wanted to be near of his rotten body ?, The only way he could know those things it's of he was William somehow, or had it's memories, that's the problem when you make a game where you make things really obvious and then you write a book where using the exact same resources you change everything

I personally like this way more than Afton always coming back. And I think the bones could be part of someone the Mimic killed. Like the bit of lore about it ripping someone's arms off. As for Vanny, I think she's still pissed by the Afton virus. I think she got infected and put it into the Mimic. Which makes the Mimic just a robot, but with the Afton virus twisting it even further.

Oh I LOVE THIS DUDE. I really hope that this idea of a character like the Mimic will not be wasted.

One small note, that body isn't Afton's. It looks nothing like his. It's described as "Afton's" because the mimic is convinced that it is Afton and that body now belongs to him, but the corpse is way too fresh to be william's. It's most likely Luca's corpse from Pressure. That story was about Williams legacy, and how despite literally becoming springtrap, Luca was able to not mimic his actions and instead stop a copycat killer cosplaying as springtrap, relating to the theme of copying Afton. If the mimic wants to replicate Afton, there's not only a suit in the Pizzaplex but a corpse inside of it as well. Why was the mimic written with the ability to go inside of costumes? To explain how he got inside of the springtrap suit in Pressure and became Burntrap.

Man this mimic character came out of nowhere and yet this is the most we've seen the Community active

i really like the idea of the mimic its a really cool replacement for the main villain and such, my biggest problem however is why this was scrapped from release on the main game and we are left to solving it 2 years later without any sign of it coming back into the game itself? its honestly a way way worse version of scotts show but dont tell story telling

Matpat theorized that burntraps body is made from Glamrock Bonnie. While that’s interesting, but there’s a problem: Burntrap has 5 fingers. Even if his replacement left hand was from G Bonnie, why would it have 5, when the other Glamrocks have 4? Not to mention the claws on Burntrap look like claws from the nightmare robots. The Mimic is interesting, and would be a neat way to bring William back in a way no one expected. It’s hard to comprehend if this could be true or not. It’s best we wait for the next book to come out, and the DLC to see if this is what Steel Wool and Scott are planning to do.

When you mentioned if Michael truly possessed Glamrock Freddy? It got me thinking, if MImic1 copied William's memories? Doesn't that mean that his family, the victims were replicated into different Mimic programs?

Freddy managed to not get possessed because of being in safe mode. Safe Mode is a mode that allows a piece of tech to be unaffected from any third party applications or programs. It exists so that things causing viruses can be deleted without interference. My previous phone was getting stuck in safe mode often and was increasingly harder to get out of safe mode. Something, possibly Gregory in his stomach hatch, caused Freddy to glitch out and reboot into safe mode. Whether or not he was under control of the Glitchtrap virus at the time is unknown but he probably was. Safe mode got rid of it. And Burntrap was trying to take Freddy out of safe mode.

I'M SO GLAD SOMEONE FINALLY BRINGS UP THAT THE FNAF 1 ENDOSKELETON IS HAUNTED! THANK YOU!

My one promblem with the mimic being in the sticky note room is that it dosent make sense since the sticky notes talk about all for me , all my friends picture of 7 kids idk but it dosent fit the mimic I believe that crying child is in some way haunting the posted notes room because if you look at the files on of the drawings is freddy plush

I think since Fazbear Entertainment used vintage plates for VR and AR, Mimic1 read it and thanks to that and William's Remnant connection, he got William's memories and starting to copy his personality, desires and the same time trying to re-create some of Afton's memories, like his family. Conclusion: i think Glitchtrap is Mimic1 but with William's soul together (i don't think this shithole died forever, since neither his Frights version died forever until Epilogue 7 where Afton Amalgamation came).

JSYK, the reason Glamrock Freddy isn't controlled in the game is probably because he rebooted in safe mode. Then, as he gains pieces of his controlled friends, the virus is able to get back in.

Ive only heard of the name “the mimic” once, aka last week.

I like the concept of the mimic, a purely electronic evil that has absolutely no soul, no history, just a literal killing machine. But I hate that we have to get this through the books and not the games. Like, come on, just put one line of dialogue or one email that references an evil robot that was made by some dude.

I think it would be even creepier if instead of using aftons body to wear as corpse it uses it’s victims corpses to make its own corpse and the rest aka the suit is from William afton

I have a theory that maybe Edwin Burrows is the midnight motorist guy. Cause midnight motorist we drive a car and the yellow guy we play as is a drunk grieving father and outright there are animatronic footprints and even a grave by the house as well. So it kinda sounds familiar with Burrows, his son died in a car accident im the 80s and he built an endoskeleton called the mimic. So maybe the grave outside is hus son's grave and the animatronic footprints are the mimic's. This is just what I think

I dont think theres really much for the freddy not being controlled. He malfunctioned and was put on safemode and if im correct he himself does state he cant communicate with anybody in the pizzaplex because of it. So i wouldnt put it past him just not being connected to the server the mimic was using

Wait I only just found out that he's called burntrap in files that's kinda disappointing cuz as far as I'm aware spring trap was named by Scott then scraptrap and glitchtrap where fan assigned names so I was hoping that the trap names would be a fan tradition to always assign the new springtrap modle a new name

In my opinion the burntrap/ glitchtrap is not William soul but a mimic can fix many issues people have with modern fnaf

Regarding the lose threads mentioned at 8:49, while I definitely don't have any real idea behind the room, as unsatisfying as it may sound, wouldn't you be able to explain Freddy's "immunity" to the virus being that the one thing we see from his prospective is him booting up in safe mode? At least for me that would explain why in that final boss Freddy can still be hacked or overcome by whatever Burntrap is doing to him. Since, whatever Security that Fazbear Entertainment would be giving these robots would be trying to stop it before getting Breached. Though, I'll fully recognize that this has no effect on the "I am not me" statement as far as I can tell.

There's literally no shot that Freddy booting up in safe mode is what's preventing him from being possessed. Especially since he's very clearly still ABLE to be controlled by Glitchtrap during some parts of the game. It's definitely a spirit.

@@dmuted Don't get me wrong, I would hate it if safe mode was the only reason, especially if it would mean if they just don't follow up on his dialogue when getting to that final area of the game. I mainly just want to bring it up because if he was actively effected by the virus in the books, but still possessed at that time, then I don't know if the spirit (at least by itself) would be the thing stopping it. If anything, I'd be okay with the spirit not being able stop it outright like in the final battle, but safe mode at the very least gives the spirit the chance to regain control, I guess?

@@MsBJfoster The spirit is what changed Freddy. In his monologue he mentions remembering Vanny using him to "clear the path" where he "found himself for the first time", and that was the moment he started changing. It's definitely a spirit, and not safe mode.

Thought Bonnie endoskeleton is from glamrock Bonnie and the springbonnie parts were used for his sut and human parts came from employees that glitchtrap manipulated vanny into making his new body since messages said Bonnie was acting weird

When did this story come out because this is just coming at me all the sudden.

ok I see it being brought up a lot and whilst I understand WHY people can come to this conclusion I do not believe the mimic is a retcon, I'm aware people find the claim that the books have been planned since 2019 highly dubious and I have no proof of it myself but it just makes sense to me that said whilst I enjoy the mimic as a concept I feel it's execution has been kinda wonky the games hard focus on the afton aspect of its character, which I suppose was meant to make the "twist" that it isn't actually afton more shocking, but I don't think scott realized that just because you can't feasibly see a twist coming doesn't inherently mean it's a good twist and I think HW bears the blame for this the most, the game gave no inclination that glitchtrap was anyone else BUT william, the mobile port further solidified this it doesn't help that aside from the mimic endo having rabbit ears (that I don't believe have been mentioned outside of the first epilogue), tales as a whole has barely focused on the mimic aspect of its character, so there's a pretty large disconnect between the two mediums which I felt could have easily been avoided if more thought had been put into making the character more unified

One theory i like from the fnaf reddit that explains freddy is that when he reboots after the SB opening he is in Safe mode. This is a mode in which a system boots with only the necessary programs active meaning that Freddy does have glitchtrap virus but the parts of his system that are infected just aren't running. This could also explain why burntrap has to "reinfect" Freddy during his boss fight. He's taking over the rest of Freddy that makes up his safe mode.

What if the corps in burntrap is actually Mr burrows?

That's entirely possible, but I don't think it's true, because it definitely seems like the Spring Bonnie suit came from Afton's body, so there's no reason for the corpse to come from somewhere else

I think mimic was possessed by William afton

Am just saying i don't like the mimic because it's really just plot convenience when the thing it's supposed to do is mimic everything it sees and then once it decides it wants to only mimic Afton it just mimics him and no one else. Also i believe the way they can fix that is make glitchtrap william and burntrap the mimic so glitchtrap can take over burntrap after its reconstructed.

I almost got jumpscared by the preview of the video because I've missread "MIMIC" as "THICC", and then it followed by artwork of Afton, I thought that it was his fem version with huge bossom, probably because of the missreading too. Nontheless, video is just great, never thought that SB's lore can be so interesting and freaky, the Thicc- *cough* , I mean the Mimic is my new favorite character now

Not a fan of this whole Burntrap and even Glitchtrap just being Mimic1. What is the point if it's not William? What was the point of Vanny if Glitchtrap isn't even William's subconscious? What's the point of Glitchtrap's true form in Princess Quest if it's not William? What is the point if Vanny isn't helping finish what William started and it's not even about rebuilding the Afton family in William's twisted way? I get everyone wanted William to stay dead, but isn't it established that Henry's plan utterly failed in Fazbear Frights? The whole thing feels like one giant fuck you to the fandom. Just keep things SIMPLE. Fazbear Entertainment was cutting costs and scanning the circuit boards of Scraptrap and the remains of the animatronics from FFPS and that's how Glitchtrap was made.(or you know fully intended to create Glitchtrap because someone in Fazbear wanted William to return) Glitchtrap wants a follower that will help make him whole and help him fulfill his plans. Which is restore his family in his twisted image. Glitchtrap wants full control of the Pizzaplex, Vanny is completing his instructions, retrieving his body and uses Glamrock Bonnie's remains to repair his suit and Burntrap wants to kill Gregory for his remnant.(and mostly because he escaped from his grasp) That's what I thought the story was going, going in a complete contradictory direction was honestly a slap in the face. What does this mean for Glitchtrap? Would Afton really let a replica take his place? Or did the two programs merge at some point?

I'm sorry, but I hate this thing, the way this thing's story seems to just be Afton but extra steps makes me fume because everyone is loving it, but nothing has changed. The story beats even riding the same tones as Afton's. Traumatic event -causes anger and fury Starts killing, with the subject hiding in suits while doing so Manipulating the animatronics to advance there goals (fine to do again but it's just add to the point) And there story has them getting trapped inside a room until a witless helper retrieves them It would have been so cool if it just confined to the cyberworld, slowly taking over the minds of others like it did vannie (seemingly) but no, it's literally just robot Afton
