I remember way back in a Q/A you said that you weren't planning on asking someone like Ondra or Megos for a collab because you felt you would bother them, that an ex-pro climber turned youtuber wouldn't be worthy of their time. I'm glad things changed because this content is solid gold Magnus, keep it up !

Also seems like Ondra is enjoying it as well rather than being bothered. I think based on his comment about speed climbing he paid attention to Magnus back in the competition days and his strengths/weaknesses. So in a way I think Adam is getting to relax and just hang out with another pro climber rather than feeling like he's just being interviewed by a journalist or something.

Okay so I gotta say at the outset I am 73 years old and in relatively decent condition and I thoroughly enjoy watching Magnus when he climbs with someone who is as good or better than he is!! I just started watching Magnus within the last several months. I continue coming back to his videos because it is so enjoyable to watch him compete with other people and how difficult what he does truly is!! I think it's brilliant Adam acknowledges his strengths and weaknesses as well as saying yes they're more than likely will be a 10a or 10b in his lifetime!! And as others mentioned it is a thrill to watch a master work at their craft!!
These videos with Adam show how much you can do for the popularisation and development of climbing. Together they are probably the best content about climbing, combining historical review, entertainment, exercises guide, interview with great, cheerful man, showing the climbing life from all spots of view. Please do not stop in your beginnings and do not restrict yourself with familiar topics! Thank you for your work!

I am a pianist studying difficult Etudes and there are similarities in succeeding in finding a technical way to overcome difficulties with fingers, wrist, elbow and shoulder. I really enjoyed the sincere camaraderie between these two climbers, they show us a good example how people should be with each other. I have so much more respect for both of them that they're able to collaborate and exchange. So much respect for both. They're both excellent coaches of each other that really caught my respect to the roof.

i don’t climb, and i’ve never tried climbing outside being a kid messing around. this video run with adam had me enthralled and watched every second, just mezmerized! this sport is just so beastly. the skill and strength is unbelievable. and the folks are way way humble and lovely!
While admittedly out of shape at 42 and heavier than I should be for climbing at 185 I recently started at an indoor gym thanks to the amazing docs (Meru, Dawn Wall, Free Solo) and of course this channel. What I think is lost to people watching at times is how incredibly strong every muscle is on a great climber like these two. Ridiculous strength.

As a 6a climber the context of Adam climbing with Magnus is fascinating. I've only seen someone do a 7c+ in person once where I could feel the holds myself to appreciate how insane that level really is. I feel like the Olympics needs content like this to help people at home comprehend the beauty of the sport. Until you have something to calibrate against, all grades above 7a seem equally impossible and it's hard to appreciate the absurdity of elite climbers.
@chrismuller3778

I mean I think they get the drift... most people understand that if they try a marathon they aren't going to be going for 2 hour pace or do 100m in 10 seconds or less. Most people at home watching the olympics probably couldn't hang from a bar for a minute. Climbing is already growing as you can see with the inclusion into the olympics and that will be more than enough to get some kids/adults interested and they can find out for themselves. So unless the olympics added a section where they pick random person from the crowd for every event I don't see how it's applicable :D Would be fun though

I rarely comment, but this video was so damn good. 49 minutes felt like 15! You both harmonize so well together, cannot wait for the other videos.
This is such an awesome video Magnus! Another gem in the series of great down to earth interviews with climbing legends that you drop every now and then. Absolutely loved every minute of this one! Thank you!!
this is hands-down one of my favorite Magnus videos! The the climbing, the convo, he high video quality, really the whole set-up. It's just THAT good. Can't believe I can watch this for free.
I think this series with Adam are the best videos I've ever seen on your channel. I love seeing you do hard climbing with a pro, and the conversations were super interesting too. It would be amazing to see some videos with other top climbers in the same vein as these ones. Maybe you could collaborate with Megos, Schubert, some of those guys? Your channel is so successful and high quality that I bet there'd be a lot of top climbers who would be up for it!
Waiting on the comments on how Adam belayed in this video.. I won't judge anyone in this video for anything they do when they are by themselves, but showing it to such a great audience always introduces some amount of responsibility for what's shown. And for all other "worldly" climbers, it is dangerous to get used to "improper" belaying technique.

Watch hard is easy’s video to see why this is dangerous for all belaying no matter the experience level
Feels like a couple really talented friends just doing what they love together. I'm reflecting on recent adventures I'v had with my friends now and I feel so refreshed and uplifted after watching this. Thanks so much for the video and this 4 vid. series!!
Great video from both of you - this one really shines as you’ve become much more comfortable together. Love outdoor focus on this, that rock surface does look gnarly. Great stuff!
This is such an insight into top-level climbing and into Adam Ondra as well. It's cool to see that in climbing, even going climbing with arguably the best climber in the world, it still seems like two friends going camping together and just climbing a bit on the side, having fun. I love the sport, but I love the mentality of the climbers even more.
When asking Adam if he was good at any other sports, I think Magnus was trying to recruit him for Ninja Warrior...
Magnus! Love the content. Just hearing you and Adam talk about your level of climbing is really interesting. Seeing you climb after Adam is really impressive. Keep up the great work. Can’t wait for the next video!! Hard core climbers!!
Adam is a special, special kind of athlete and person. Seems like such a cool, humble, down to earth guy who is supremely gifted. God bless!
While the hardcore climbing was nice, what really made this video great for me was you two talking about climbing. You should start doing podcasts with climbers as guests like once a month.

I feel this worked so good because they did it while climbing. Having the same discussion online would not make the climbers open up.
Best video I have seen on this channel by far! The conversations are so interesting and the climbing is amazing. Also great to see you two on somthing 'easy' in the beginning.
been watching a year or two now, Finally yesterday i went to my first climbing gym and learned to belay. we didn't have much time left after the owner/ belay instructor finished up with us so we only did one more climb by ourselves and i can not wait to go back and find a route we cant do(not sure what the ratings were but we both toped each route we tried first try(i guess we flashed every route wev touched but they are easy ones ofcourse). its weird but failing is what im most excited for learning limits and Then pushing them. Iv always climbed trees and close brick buildings and natural rock freely when given the chance(grew up on large (over 10foot) slippery boulders that wer underwater hightide and above water at lowtide and it was the funniest thing we did as kids(wed climb it for hours until the tide came in, then wed jump off into the water and the smaller kids that couldn't climb the boulder could then swim over to it and get up the back of it(back side nearly had built in steps but we climbed the front that was really steep for fun). never had any formal climbing experience with harnesses and ropes. so anyways, thankyou magnus(AND FILM CREW) for getting me excited enough about this sport to finally find a place and do it for real. would love to see you climb at carabiners in newbedford Massachusetts USA some day

tarzan irl wtf? xD
Hey Magnus. I am new and you were my first guide into the climbing community. Congratulations on that 1 MIL. You are doing a really great job, both with your physical and media sides. Very different content with various interesting people... Just never gets old 😉
Magnus at 24:02 wheezes "climbing" before he tries 1 move. Ondra rly is a beast lol
20:36 It's so cute how Magnus is fan boying over Adam and says wow when he takes a no hands rest in the knee bar
This is definitely my favorite video you have put up. You asked all the questions I would have asked if I had the opportunity to climb with Ondra. Love it
Adam Ondra is so chill! He just doesn’t seem concerned with what other people think. I think that’s an admirable trait. What a guy
Magnus these vids are absolute gold! Love the curious questions between the climbs, not to mention the general dynamic between you and Ondra. Thanks so much for these, and congrats on the 1 mil!
Magnus you showed us Adam Ondra that we have never seen in videos from his channel, I think you have a gift of asking the "right" questions and questions that we all would like to ask, being yourself a climbing addict you are a great partner for Adam in climbing or conversation. My thoughts after watching this video are that I would like to hear you as a commentator for climbing events such as world cup ! keep up the good work !
This video was so much fun to watch and so motivating to go outside and climb there. I've always just climbed inside and this just looks like so much fun! I'm really excited for your future videos and hopefully upcoming collabs! Keep it going - can't wait to get your book into my hands!
Loved the music choice when Magnus began climbing
enjoying everything about this whole series with Ondra, the banter, the learning, the jokes. His level of objectivity and self awareness is astounding.. though it surprised & concerned me to find out that modern bouldering was harming his body long term... and yet he is choosing to compete for the sake of Olympics.
Can't tell you the last time I made it through a 50 minute video without skipping around. Fascinating mix of interview, discussion, climbing banter (sandbagging, moves, styles), and climbing in a unique spot. Adam's responses are often so candid it's nearly unsettling. Magnus does a good job leading discussions and mixing in humor and good questions. And, yes, I fall under the "hardcore climber" category that subbed a really long time ago so it's great to see this collaboration come to fruition.
