I am thrilled to have come across your channel; I can learn a lot from you. Incidentally, although I cannot remember her name, the prayer that you paraphrased was written by a sufi woman. The translation with which I am familiar goes something like this : "O God, if I worship you for fear of Hell, Then burn me in it. If I worship you in hopes of heaven, Then exclude me from it, But if I worship you for your own sake, Then do not hide from me your beauty."

My ultimate goal with occultism/esotericism is to grow my knowledge become closer with the Devine, of course! Also there is a part of me that maybe selfishly; I want to bestow some of my stories of my personal experiences and gnosises, to others to garner some acknowledgement, of my personal beliefs. Years have passed and not a single person notices or shares my beliefs. My knowledge still is growing day by day. Personal gnosis is taken with a grain of salt. Skeptical to the very end unless it's written in stone! Surrounded by agnostics irl I throw my hands up and give up somedays 😅

Coming from a fundamentalist Christian background, one of the hardest things for me to let go of is the idea that I need to "know" with concrete certainty what will happen to me after I die. The more I study esoteric and occult topics, the more comfortable I've had to become with not having all the answers. It is actually kind of liberating knowing that it is okay to not understand everything about the universe or not know exactly what will happen to us (if anything) after we die. The idea that life is a spiritual journey and that we likely have lived and will continue to live multiple incarnations makes so much more sense to me than either the Abrahamic or materialist "one and done" view of our lives. The idea that we are likely eternal spiritual beings having a temporary material experience explains so much more about our purpose than the other mainstream religious and materialist views that dominate the West. I like the freedom of being able to say "I don't know" while in this material life.

I had such a grandiose whirlwind of finding my true will when I stepped into the occult starting ten years ago. Now I feel like a stitched abomination of every high goal, thinking that the sum result of every goal, even if they cancel each other out, will result in something... something Lovecraftian perhaps. Insanity with results, annihilation with acquisition, profanity with strict morality: the power of the paradox. A dead God, a sleeping God, an insane God; my love for the slug after the rain and the blind earthworm has carried me to this point, and somehow I am not a stranger to gnosis and teaching. I wish those seekers who seemed to have lost their way to realize their path may never cross another track.

@@John_7775 @John_7775 I was talking about gnosis, apotheosis or annihilation. In fact I'd say that your answer looks more like annihilation than gnosis, in a way, until you mention wearing the crown. The three of them share the resemblance of the same goal, at least. In any case, I don't work because of FOMO or fear of death and dissolution, I work because of vocation and all the good things it does for me at every step. So thank you for the insight, really, but I see things differently. What I was talking about is that some people are called to one path and some others, to other paths. As long as it's their genuine desire, it's good that they chose either of the three, and neither is better than the other. The only aspect I think gnosis can be superior to the others is keeping the ego intact, but that's something I care about less and less as time passes.

Thanks for your insight on this interesting topic. Glad that you mentioned the concept of Apotheosis, as this is highly integral to my practice as a Sinisterist (eclectic Left Hand Path practitioner). I view this lifelong goal as an unending journey, rather than a destination. In my case, I have chosen a pantheon of Archetypes (metaphorical, characterized concepts) in the form of dark or "horned" gods, that I seek to emulate in my day to day life. This continual work to improve oneself and attain a greater sense of wholeness would be how I view Apotheosis. What's your view on this?

I really liked the concept of this video. It’s important to be able to clarify in one’s head the reasons one might be following a path of esotericism/occultism. One thing I don’t agree with though, is the idea that something like breaking out of the cycle of samsara is not a good reason on it’s own to follow an esoteric path. The MAIN goal of many many Buddhist traditions and ESPECIALLY Buddhist esotericism is exactly that. Buddhism, being a nontheistic religion, puts great emphasis on the purpose of life and spiritual practice being to further your pathway to an understanding of nonduality, culminating in eventual release from samsara and attainment of ultimate liberation as a fully awakened Buddha. The goal IS to break of out of the cycle, that’s the entire point. There can be connection with divinity depending on the tradition or the practitioner, but the ultimate goal is release. I think that’s a doctrine that can be valuably replicated on many occult paths and I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all

Thank you for this video ❤ As a LPH practitioner, I kinda disagree on your ideas about apotheosis : for me (as a sort of UPG) it is a way for becoming divine in the next life. It's puryfing our soul from all the impurity and evolve becoming gods ourself, so that we can help other souls in their apotheosis. All the power that we get during the way are just byproduct of that process of ordeals for making ourself divine. Again good video as always

Anyone who says they "know" for sure is being dishonest. It is a belief based on study and personal experience. In my case I've come to 'believe' that we are 'eternal spiritual beings having a temporary material experience' because it is the view of existence that aligns best with everything that I have experienced in my own life and have have studied in the literature on the topic. For me, the breakthrough was studying my astrological birth chart and being absolutely stunned with how accurately it detailed my personality. I was a skeptic before that experience. That experience launched me on a journey of discovery where I have arrived at the present view that we are spiritual beings that incarnate at certain points in history to do certain things and to learn certain lessons. The birth chart is a tool that allows us to better understand why we are here at this particular time and what we should work towards accomplishing before we depart this realm. (We didn't come here completely blind without some kind of a map.) I don't expect anyone else to arrive at this same perspective on the nature of reality. However, it is the model that currently works best for me to explain the nature of reality and why we are here.

The popular version of it is on some level. Mostly those who do the work you wouldn't even KNOW they're occultists. It really is about attaining/aspiring to true gnosis. It's not a fashion statement, it's literally difficult daily work that's different for every individual. The systems have failsafes that if one doesn't have integrity during initiation and practice, you won't even want to do it anyway. Everyone is different though, so no judgement. I do choose who I work with and align with in any case. You do you, as they say. 😅
