Remote HF operation is here to stay. It's nice to see another OEM baking it into their radios.

Last of my 2nd comments , I put my brother onto Elecraft , yeah , being the individual that introduced a new enthusiast unto Elecraft , made my day !

Very good to hear about the Zero. I’ll mainly use it around the house.

KX2 definitely made it into my top 3 favorite radios within a week of me owning one! If elecraft ever makes a KX4 (something like a K4 but with the KX2/3 form factor) I'm buying it.

I was hoping the K4 Zero was the new KX2 hihi. Great to see Elecraft inovating and moving forward

I like this. I've been looking at remoting my station since I travel alot.

Good update. I'm definitely awaiting the VK4 app, and the HD upgrade module (which sadly didn't make this update... so probably a year out yet).

Why is it taking so long?

I must say , for me , Kenwood , is to radios what Corvette is to cars , with Yaesu being the 911 , very good , daily driver , practical , value . Elecraft , gives me that Lingenfelter king of vibe , very much engineered by folks that drove everything else .

Hello, Ive been getting into radios as a hobby lately and getting info and stuff, great channel and thanks for all the info. My inly question that I dont seem to find an answer is, Ham/ gmrs licenses? Ive been looking inline cant seem to find any, also is it the same thing or do I need a license for both or one is better than the other I rlly dont understand tbh, pardon my ignorance and thank you.

You need a license for both, but I think with GMRS you just pay a fee and get registered. I would suggest study for your ham license, as GMRS is very limited to a small section of the UHF spectrum. Ham radio, on the other hand, is a whole new world. You can get your Tech license, but best to go straight for your General if you want to do HF. 73’s KO4VBL

so much for deadline’s. it’s been 8 months and still no software release for remote running on windows or apple.

So what is K4 Zero? Been listening for ages and haven't heard.

That's what puts me off. Import duty and shipping are just insane. I want to buy it in the UK for the same price the guys in the US pay, not thousands more.

I’m angry at elecraft 😂 it takes so long to get the kx2. I was expecting to use the radio this summer.. summer is almost over and the radio haven’t arrived yet 😢 I bought it at the middle of spring
