What is the EASIEST POSITION in Volleyball? PMEvolleyball
Спорт
Hi there! Today I held a debate with some of the members of my volleyball team to decide what the hardest position in the sport of volleyball is. This is the conclusion that we came to. Let me know in the comments if you agree or disagree with our decisions.

I think we can all agree that setter is the hardest because they have to move the most to get to the ball

I think setter and libero would be the hardest
6. Right side (you stand there..) 5. Serving Specialist (I was it. my coach was counting on me to gain or jump ahead in points = more pressure) 4. Outside (you have the longest range to hit, which is diagonal) 3. Libero (you establish a good set) 2. Middle (you are *the battleship* of the team. You have the longest range to block, and your backrow is counting on you to not receive a 50+ MPH Ball) 1. Setter (I also like saying setters are the QB in volleyball. You make the plays, and is the sub-establishment of making points. You must be careful when picking a setter though. Make sure they check all the boxes for setting needs) All in all, I actually think 1,2,3 are all equally the same, just depends how you use it.

I feel like setter might be the toughest, you can't have a bad day as setter since you are expected to run the offense regardless of the passes you get

Ya it depends on the level in my opinion. But for me libero is definitely harder. Our middles don’t serve and they don’t run transition plays and stuff so I agree for my level at least.
Depends on the age level for easiest, Younger ages Libero and DS well back row in general are easy. More advanced Middle and setter are difficult

Middle over the other positions? I agree, middle is definitely a physical position.
bro as a libero, you gotta think about like what happens when it’s not a raleigh going on. if there is a bench clear fight, who’s there to protect you, the meanest, the craziest, THE LIBERO.

Liberos are the heart of most teams
1. Setter, 2. Libero, 3. Outside, 4. Middle, 5. Oppo
6. serve specialist 5. right side 4. middle 3. libero 2. outside 1. setter. this is objectivly correct as someone who has played everywhere except lib and serve spec

as a proud Opposite u hurt my Feelings... "Right side just needs to hit" I agree but u will never hit like me-+-
7. serving specialist 6. DS 5. Opposite 4. Middle 3. outside 2. libero 1. Setter (im a setter/opposite)
I love how y’all get into arguments without like actually fighting lol. If I did this with my team we’d all hate each other…
I feel like libero and setter are the hardest position for two comlete different reason. Simply if u have a good libero on ur hands they sacrafice their body more and it takes more to get the ball up etc, but for a setter they have to be smart like knowing when and where to set the ball etc and having to know their teammates to know how they hit etc.
Playing all these positions it hard to debate Setter- have to play defense and offense. Your job is to set up a good enough set for the hitters to hit. It’s really hard to set if your fingers are not warmed up and it requires you to work with every pass you get. Also they are the king of the courts. Middle- in my experience it was pretty hard because I would always get yelled for everything, blocking (which can be hard at times, and you have to transition and hit a good ball. Libero- yes libs are very misunderstood in saves and receives. I would not say it’s the hardest because libs only play back row not front. I’m not saying it’s not hard, it really is because you have make near perfect passes. Outside- play both back row and front row and usually the strongest hitters. They have to play with every set they get and they are like most depended on. So in my very opinion I would say hardest position is setter then outside (because they play back row and front), then libero, and I’m sorry but middle is last. IM NOT SAYING ITS THE EASIEST POSITION IM JUST SAYING ITS THE EASIEST OUT OF THESE 4.
thanks for the middle apreciation though. I'm currently playing as a middle but my coach (clearly not one of the best) keeps saying that middle do not have to think and that our role is easy, and i think he says that cause he's frustrated because he's short (I ain't that tall too). i hope to change team soon beacuse of him.
As a Libero that used to play setter I think that the positions go in the order of 1. Setter (hardest) 2.Libero 3.Outside 4.Middle 5.Serving Speacialist 6.Right Side
I think that mb has to be second hardest position in volleyball ‘cause they have to jump and run much more than outside hitter

libero got too much hate, because all the other positions dont have the pressure to make a good pass and if they mess up its fine but if we liberos mess up then coach gets mad and middle plays backrow or smth like that

I hear you
I'd say outside is the most fun position, knowing that you will always have a spot of attacking in every points just hype me up. But setters though. The most hardest and mentally challenging position. They talked so much about how easy the pass are in higher leagues, but the truth is that with every single failed spike, the setter becomes more pressured as to think what he should do
Honestly I think serving specialist, right side, middle, lib, outside, setter. But I honestly think middle is easier that libero because the libero has to get up serves that are really hard, insanely hard hits and if you get blocked a lot of times lib has to step in and get it also if you like almost block bus miss it then libero has to go get it, and if someone else shanks it libero has to get it a lot of the time . But middle they basically block sometimes hit and honestly they’re in the setters way half the time and don’t know where the ball is. At least that’s how all the middles I’ve worked with have done.
@inferno9470
Жыл бұрын
Well that's a personal problem, you can't generalize all middles like that. Middle is a lot harder than how you explained it. To be a middle is easy, to be a good middle is the hard part. But it's the same with every other position
I love the long video content!

being a lefty hitter in a team full of right handeds is extremely challenging
can u guys make content about teaching volleyball and stuffs for beginners. preciate !!!
As a libero, you have to do everything they mentioned as well as cleaning up bad passes and reading serves and organizing serve receive, also at high school and college level we still serve, so libero is much higher on this list

I hear you
I know only one, that setter and libero are hardest positions in game
i would just change right side and serving specialist because serving specialist have so much pressure on their shoulder especially in game points or something of the sort
What about AR (All Rounders)?
Setter is the harder position and I ain’t even a setter I’m a libero. But I got to put libero behind setter cause if you have to receive a monster serve it’s all dependent on the libero. And if I don’t pass it I’m going to get jumped
From a girls club dad viewpoint a bad setter or libero makes the play over before it has a chance to develop so that seems to be the most “important” which might not be hardest/easiest.
Me as a serving specialist watching my position get dissed like that🙂
I agree with serve specialist being a hot take, like, yes it's their only job, but that's the whole point: they're not in the momentum necessarily, they have lots of pressure, they're probably not even warmed up anymore, they have one job to do, but if they don't perform well or if they don't make it, what are they even doing on the court... like, that's a lot for a human being 😂 whereas, every other position (excepted libero) do need to serve, but they don't have the same pressure a serve specialist do, because that's not ALL they have. Which is why right side should be the easiest position in volleyball (6th place) in my opinion considering everything

setter is the most important thats for sure, but the libero is the hardest (depends tbh to ur teammates) since they have to pick up the crap of their other teammates (especially serve recieve) but if ur teammates ARE ACTUALLY GOOD (unlike mine both playing and brain/mind (they are pick me's)) then Idk anymore ;-;
As a setter I think outside is harder
Personally I feel like setter and libero are the guys that move a lot. But mentally I feel like libero is difficult cause let’s say 24-23 if you get aced it’s your fault but just my opinion 😅
The conflict is serious bro😂⁉️
This might seem weird but is volleyball like your job or is it something you do for fun? Like do you have a job other than volleyball? I apologize if this is rude or anything but I wonder

Solid point
The easiest is obviously the decoy like your literally just their to distract ppl, the 2nd easiest is the server specialist if you’re a server it’s bc it’s the only thing ur good at the 3rd hardest is the ace because yk it is the 2nd hardest is the spiker like they worker so hard and the hardest 🥇 is the tall one they literally carry the whole team like huge props to the tall one PSA This is a joke none of these positions exist 😭
Libero is hardest, setter is most apportant, right side is easiest
Setter is the hardest
The claim setter is less difficult then out side is bs. At higher levels middle is the most difficult. Who ever you garbageman is as a hitter who get the out of system balls.(nimir, wallace) as opos are 3. At club middle isn't important at younger levels. I think middle is the hardest position to be really good at because of how fast setters run high level offences but at the same time setter is the only position judged of perfection and I would say is the most stressful. My list as a setter at high level 18s club teams and above the most difficult positions to be really elite: Middle, setter, Garbage guy(go to out of system hitter could be OH1 or opo), outside, Lib, OPO depends on how many swings you get in and out of system for example a guy like nimir or doing what he dose where he is the one expected to put away bad out of system sets that is right up there in difficulty as middle and setter.
