Good Video, I got new Tires on My Ford Pickup Yesterday. The Tire Store asked if I want Light Truck tires or Passenger Tires. I told Them I tow with the Pickup, they said Ok, You need Lt Tires. Thanks for posting this Video.

old video but good explanation. Often times a see bad reviews on Tires on Tirerack and it's always something along the lines that the tread wore down too quickly while towing etc.. People buy the P version instead of the LT and use it for heavy duty stuff.

Light truck tires are available in some sizes for the small Vans like the Ford transit, Dodge,Nissan. They call them cargo tires. Rated as a 10 ply 110-119 R heavy load. They will haves stronger side walls and heavy load carry but Limited sizes available. Check Nokian,Continental,General, for your size if you want that heavy load tire. They could help with pot hole damage but the best protection is not to hit them. Lol.

ok, so most pickups come with P tires, when switching to LT, should you not increase the PSI? I run LT on my truck, and went from factory door jamb psi to 42. i am getting nice even wear on quite blocky tires with frequent rotation (3k mi)

Never follow what the door says it doesnt know what tires you put on. I run all my tires at max psi you get a longer tread life that way do not listen to anyone that says follow the psi on a door jam

Can a suv use regular car tires, no off road driving involve. It's a 2014 rogue.

Can I put car tires and rim from 09 Impala whit tire size 225 /60 /15 put on my ford ranger I think get better gas milege in don't a/t tire getting 15 mile gallon would work if use tire and rims my truck

So I drive a 1999 Silverado 1500. Is it ok to put p tires on it if I know I'm not gonna be doing any kind of towing with it?

Daniel Diaz sure is. I've never ran an LT tire on any of my pickups. Kind of a gimmick IMO. I've towed with p tires no issues

@@Wicked_RotF30 It's a gimmick unless you tow heavy loads, rock crawl or frequently hit trails. Otherwise most people will never us stronger tires to their max potential.

On lighter SUVs it’s not recommended to use LT. If you own a truck or larger size SUV I wouldn’t see why not.

Can someone answer my question? I am running a 32 inch 10 ply E rated tire with a max pressure of 80psi. I am running them at 50 but the ride is quite harsh. Is it ok to deflate them to 38 like the door of my f150 suggests?

Does the door of your F150 refer to your oem tires which were originally P rated? I dont think F150s or even Raptors come with E rated tires. I could be wrong.

Never follow the door jam that's why Firestone had a problem with ford.....the door doesnt know what brand tire you put on......also the tire will wear better at max pressure been doing it all my life never any issues except longer tread life

10 ply rated. Could only have 4 ply’s.
