What is the Difference Between a $2K and $200 Shotgun?
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This question is not asked to ruffle feathers or even attempt to say a $200 GForce shotgun can be truly comparable to a $2,000 Benelli M4. Rather, it is meant to address the questions often asked by people who are new to shotguns:
How can a shotgun cost $2,000?
What does $200 get you?
What's the difference?
About the only things these shotguns truly have in common are that they are both designed and marketed for defensive shotgun shooting and are chambered in 12 gauge. When looking at a shotgun for home defense, there are several things to factor into your decision, so let’s dig into it.

If I'm chucking it in the back of the closet in case of a zombie apocalypse, I'm going with the $175 gun and making sure I have lots of ammo.
She's handling that recoil like pro considering how tiny she is 😂
What is the difference between 2000 and 200? 1800.
When she said you couldn't shoot slugs through the G-Force shotgun I think she meant sabot slugs. Rifled slugs you absolutely can since they are meant for smooth bore shotguns which the G-Force is. Sabot slugs are for rifle barrels only.

It’s because that is what their website says. She’s just stating what is clearly mentioned on their website. Could it “handle” foster type slugs? Of course it could, but I’m more than willing to bet GFORCE ARMS put this warning out because of some kind of disparity in the dimensions of their barrels.

Gforce manual explained that it's not safe to shoot slugs through a fixed choke shotgun
This is the age old debate of Pump vs. Semi-Auto. It's apples and oranges, and no where in the same field. That was a good presentation, but instead of using a pump use a SEMI-AUTO Tri-Star Tech 12 (also from Turkey) to debate either or both. It's about $550.00 A little more expensive than that pump, but still a LOT less than $2,000.00. See what makes the Benelli more expensive. While it's most likely better, for the average Citizen it's still not $1,500.00 better - or necessary. It can perform adequately. If I was going to enter a three gun competition then the Benelli M-4 would DEFINITELY be my choice.

Hi Taylor, I just followed because you're personable, energetic, animated with honest evaluation and presentation.
For Home Defense I've got a nice 18in Maverick 88 and for everything else a Mossy 500 with either a 24in Rifled Barrel or a 28in Vent-Rib Barrel for Skeet & Trap.
Same one sold also as citadel PAT 12 and I found out that Benelli Nova mag extensions work.

My maverick 88 holds 7+1 and you can put anything through it, hundreds of shells never a problem, it just has a bead sight it's all you need, and you can get spare parts from Brownell's. (although most mossberg 500 parts work). And my Beretta 1301 8+1 or 12+1 tube is cheaper than the Benelli, thousands of shells through it never had a stoppage, and that bad boy is fast, quad loading an absolute must with that one.

I bought once and cried once this weekend for the M4. Its my “Rolex Daytona” of combat shotguns. Sure a 88, 870 500, 590, 1301, would do the job. And I always give my co-workers this analogy when comparing Android vs Apple. You either like Timex… or you like Rolex. They both tell the time. At the end of the day, whatever puts a smile on your face is all that matters.

My Hunt Group XP7 ( looks a lot like yours) was very fun and reliable until the piccitini rail came off when I fired three 3 inch turkey shells ( I got the turkey, at least). It's more of a home defense style SG but it was handy inthe bush. I am debating whether I should bother fixing it ( the screws sheared off) or just keep it as a beater sans sights.
taylor you rocked that benelli real good
Great video if you also want to shoot a awesome shotgun try the Mossberg 940 JM it's fantastic
It's not so much the price but more quality control and the pride that the manufacturers have toward their brand. I have a $200 Maverick 88 that's just as reliable as any Benelli, yet I have a $200 Pardus pump action that came from the factory unable to cycle the shells. Don't get tunnel vision focusing on the price tag. Do your research, and also take note of the manufacturer's warranty and customer service. If their warranty is paper thin, and they have a history of poor customer service, that may be an indication that they know they're putting out crap.
Thank you for a nice review. I prefer the Maverick 88 to the Turkish shotguns but if I had the money I'd get that M4.

I own a M1014 and love it. Very good review/comparison. You are a very sweet, pretty and smart young lady. Thank you.
I have the AKKA Churchill 12 gauge pump, looks like this one is basically built on the same platform. Fortunately, I am 5’10”, with longer arms and have none of the front stock problems you had. But if I did, I would go to Home Depot and buy some black anti slip tape, and put some pieces of it on the fore stock where your hand naturally feels the best. That would end your slipping problem. Meanwhile, for my $200 gun, I have a stockpile of many many rounds of different shot. My gun says nothing about not using slugs, and I have used them. It does not have a rail set up nor that particular front sight, just groove and bead, and I painted the bead white for faster sight registration. Mine did not have a nice butt pad, but I bought a slip on butt pad to help with the recoil.
Curious why you can't shoot slugs out of the cheap one. Never seen a 12 gauge that couldn't shoot slugs. Full choke, good to go. No choke? even better. what am I missing lol.

@Juztinking chances of that happening are slim to none. I know lots of guys that shoot slugs through over bored shotguns with no issues. I feel that at least one or two of the major differences one being probably the second most important next to reliability would be longevity of the firearm. One needs to take into consideration the quality of materials the quality of workmanship and quality control of a cheap firearm versus an expensive firearm. Generally speaking the more money a firearm is the better the materials. This would translate to a firearm that would function thousands of rounds down the road as opposed to several hundred where issues then present.
I would take the Maverick 88 8 shot version over the g force any time for home defense. Also Maverick 88 is slimmer, lighter weight, and the price is not that much more than g force.

i have the same shotgun for 200 and i use slugs threw it never had a issue and dead accuracy with slugs
Why would you compare pump shotgun with semi auto?
I've just discovered this video and looked for this shotgun. What I see is they have a different foregrip at the product site, which now has an aggressive pattern. I wonder if they responded the feedback. I can't say if this current configuration is for local Turkish market or also valid for USA. For the barrel&choke, it says "Cylinder Choke Slug Barrel". Yes, this guns shoots slugs. It is for slugs as a matter of fact. The removable sight at the rail may be a subject of debate. I personally have a shotgun (of a different brand) with a fixed ghost ring sight before the picatinny rail. Unlike this mine, is not removable. This removable sight of the $200 gun may be practical as you can get rid of it and use the rail space more effectively. As I understand, ghostring sight lacked zeroing. With slugs, I believe this can be zeroed easily.

Kind of an ill conceived comparison between a military semi auto shotgun and an entry level no thrills pump shot gun. My son has a Benelli M4, he is now a Marine reserve MP and a police officer, and thinks his shotgun has no equal. So I took the challenge. Purchased a Citadel semi auto shotgun for $175 with a military discount, also purchased a magazine extension for $49 to make it a 8+1. Took it apart, cleaned it, lubed it and broke it in. This cheap Semi auto comes with 3 different chocks. Installed a reflex sight, dialed it in. It runs flawlessly, no failures of any kind after 800 rounds, all this for 1/10th the price of his Benelli, did I mention it's a 8+1? Sure the Benelli has a better quality fit and finish, but that doesn't mean the Citadel doesn't do it's job every time.
