  One of if not the best .40 cal. pistols. This was my first firearm purchase, an expensive one at that but I only needed one for my lifetime... Well, I have gotten a few more arms since, but the 229 remains my most cherished.

  Yes Thank you for mentioning the new 3 piece trigger assembly that compresses a spring within the trigger housing, compared to a single stretching spring of previous generations. I thought that more pieces would led to a higher failure rate. I tested my G19 5 by completing removing the 3 piece trigger mechanism in the housing, and was surprised that the pistol still functioned! Simple reliable durable design.

  In Nam 69-70 was a gun truck that worked our perimeter, was called "Ratlin Rouge" fearsome rig if you were attempting to breach the wire, and was a 20mm duster that accompanied that gun truck, ....Victory thru Superior Firepower. AIRBORNE.

  It really depends on your individual situation. Think about what YOU think is what you need. Make that your main platform. My ;suggestion, and the suggestion from many, many professionals, is have: a good defensive handgun, a pump or semi auto shotgun, and a rifle (for me a semi auto would be my preference, but my bolt action elk rifle would still be more than enough for most situations). a .22 rifle has a boatload of pluses, the main one is ammo is light and cheap. I would rather have a .22 then empty hands any day of the week.

  Reagan, Hughes, and Rangel killed Legal Machine guns for civilians along with greedy Full Auto owners who pushed the FOPA act wanting to make their Full Auto's more expensive and stopping Importation of more Full Auto's at the time, and Democrats assholes who took advantage of that and pushed thru the law, Reagan like a number of Republicans now was just as bad as most Democrats when it came to the 2A and Firearms in general.

  I looked into these when they came out.. Expensive. More expensive than my Henry model X 45-70. Great lever gun (the SnW). Just, not for people with budget constraints
