@@markussokk2847Apprently Latvian has a distant similar linguistic path as Finno-uralic languages even though it's very different, but Lithuanian is unique because it's the only Baltic language that doesn't have any connection to Finno-uralic language roots.

Both Lithuanian and latvian are very old languages which are derived from proto baltic languages. The Proto baltic language itself retains many archaic features from Proto Indo European. I learned Lithuanian last two years Lithuanian grammar is very old and very inflected means that nouns, adjectives and pronouns have many different endings that express the meaning of the sentence. In some Lithuanian dialects have extra number call dual. Difference between Sanskrit and Lithuanian is Lithuanian still preserved final nominative s ending like Devas means God, in Sanskrit final s is lost it becomes Deva.

Vedas and its teaching are soul liberating from the illusion we have created around and were already there when we came moreover singing hymns , dancing and elevating intellect is the only enlightenment we’ll ever attain.. Life is about enjoying it through various mode it’s just like entrepreneurship what I mean is you do everything and take joy out of it but it shouldn’t be exploiting someone’s emotional connection to you it cover all sorts of way that would make you cheat to another being and Though later on Puranas do have some mixture one should abstain from them, your firsthand testimony to validate should be vedas.

Hi! Actually a few months ago I have started another podcast specifically for Lithuanian learners. It’s more relative for pre-intermediate learners, but all the transcripts are for free on my website and those who are interested can use them as well as the audio to get familiar with the language. Here’s the link to the channel (with subtitles): youtube.com/@LithuanianwithPaulius?si=xTy4H7Jdme3Cfg3p

Hi there. Thanks for the comment. Nonetheless, European languages have not risen from India, just like the Indian languages have not risen from Europe. Both have risen from the Eurasian Steppe, and hence the name Proto-Indo-European people and the Proto-Indo-European language, the ancestor of Indian, Persian and European languages.

It’s odd, my husband thinks it sounds like Latin as the endings are often as, os, is etc and the closest sounding he studied at school was Latin. I remember the change from Russian to Lithuanian at school and many friends joked it was just Russian with as/is [ass/iss pronounced] endings.

Some people have said that -as, -os and -is endings and very common in Greek as well. That, I suppose, it’s not very odd as both languages existed side by side in the past. :)

None the less, I’d like to argue that Lithuanian is quite different from Russian. I’m saying that out of experience. I’ve been learning Russian for about 3.5 years now and still have managed to reach B1 at best. My Portuguese studies, on the other hand, is progressing much quicker. Most probably that it is very similar grammatically to English, having a similar approach to tenses and quite a few cognates. :)

@@theinkwellpod oh yeah definitely different but as a kid growing up in the Lithuanian SFR then having a sudden change in the language of my town and school and having to figure out what was going on it was quite funny to suddenly in the 90s have a language with a bunch of familiar Russian words with as added as an ending!

I have seen your another video between similarities between Lithuanian and Sanskrit and I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. I think Sanskrit is highly sophisticated and probably the parent for many languages. I heard the old Vedic Sanskrit hymns and they sound so powerful and melodious.
