My headcanon: I like to think Azmuth has lost faith in all sentient life due to being put through one or several life changing events across the span of his long life. Due to this outlook on life Azmuth would become very pessimistic and so just shot out the Carnitrix, the pure manifestation of his hatred for all sentient life and to show everyone the worst of every species in existence. Because to this Azmuth, nothing would matter except the absolute truth.

Fun fact the original creator of the au said the carnitrix is weaker than the original Omnitrix but he was able to create that destruction because the wilderness of those aliens makes the carnitrix user very erratic and unpredictable

This AU feels like it was specifically created to highlight how lucky the original Ben was. The Omnitrix was basically created as a universal translator and peace tool , but this weapon was designed from the start to be the kind of weapon of mass destruction that the OG Azmuth feared the Omnitrix would become in the wrong hands. Speaking of Azmuth, the Azmuth that created the Carnetrix seems to be a version of him that became evil and nihilistic

Personally, I don’t think it’s vilgax. I think it’s selen, the assistant as seen in Secrets of the omnitrix. Which would make more sense as she was there to help azmuth. So my personally idea is that zenith, azmuths ex, broke up with like she did in the original due to his hubris. This caused azmuth to be bitter and more driven as the other scientist on galvin saw him as crazed lunatic. Thus seizing any further research. So out of this bitterness it’s probably likely selen saw how driven azmuth was. She then decided to get help from tetrax to stop him.

While debatable that the Carnitrix aliens are weaker, the user has no control over the aliens, *_feels_* the transformations (I DO NOT want to think about that), & is fully aware of their actions, there are two big upsides. Since the Carnitrix transforms Ben whenever it senses sentient life, there could be no cooldown (or at least subsides by de-transforming the moment it kills & not using a full transform cycle) & since Alien EX (Exeuctioner, haha, I'm funny right?) is not hindered by Bellicus and Serena, the user can do whatever they want (albeit on a slightly smaller scale) w/o restriction. Whether these upsides outweigh the downsides is up to you, but these two upsides do make the Carnitrix pseudo broken.

This is the edgiest, dumbest, most over the top version of the omnitrix. It's ironically funny.
