Baking Lover 1. Make a PowerPoint. My parents are EXTREMELY strict but the PowerPoint made it. Put one slide on how much the bunny will cost at first, one one monthly costs, and one on why you should have one, and anything else you think will help. 2. Do all the research, if you are at a shelter looking for rabbits, and someone says something that your parents have heard fr9m you already they will be surprised on how much you know. 3. Volunteer at a rabbit shelter, this will help you show your parent you know your stuff, and they might even fall in love with one. 4. Pay for it yourself. If you pay for it yourself, your parents will know how committed you are. 5 Set up were they would live.I chose to have my bunny in my room, and before my parents were convinced, I set up my dogs old puppy pen from when he was a baby and lined up were I would put everything. Hope I helped! ❤️

my first bunny, apollo, was a netherland dwarf/rex mix. he was sweet, he honked, loved being around me, loved blueberries, bananas and oats, and booty scratches. he was the most cuddly, loving bunny i ever knew. he was such a beautiful soul, and it always pains me to think about how his life was cut short. he always made me smile, his binkies and zoomies were adorable, and he was so affectionate and adventurous. i don't have enough memories of him, but he changed my life entirely. he caused me to want to persue a career where i could save animals and give them better lives. he showed me that, even if your conditions aren't the best, you can make the most of them. i'm eternally grateful for his impact on my life. he'll always be in my heart.

We have just bought a new little Mini Rex female. She's currently 13 weeks old and we've had her for just a few days. She is our first rabbit so we are getting know each other. Right now she is a sweetie. She is timid and shy but has already displayed that she can have a bit of fun and will (if we let her) try and get out of her enclosure. She at the moment loves to sniff at our fingers to check us out but right now she hasn't launched herself into our laps or anything like that. We have to keep her in a pen which clearly needs to be expanded as it does seem a little small (it's a playpen). She's happy to chill with us and we put her into a hutch at night as we also have cats who haven't "met" her properly yet. Her name is Madeline. She's smart and cheeky but loveable and I'm glad we've got her.

I have a small Netherland dwarf. I don't think she is full dwarf though. She's a little punk who is super energetic, independent, and eats as much as a large rabbit would. She is very work focused and grunts and grumbles if you interrupt her while she is hard at work destroying things. We all love her and wouldn't change a thing!

Dutch/Mini Rex mix: Super affectionate, loves to cuddle and lick faces. Neutered but humps EVERYTHING, mostly his brothers face. Don't freak out, the giant enjoys it and shoves his face under him and lifts him up so he can. Only gets annoyed when he "finishes" and starts ripping neck fur out. Flemish Giant mix: More like a little puppy. Loves his brother and has to be near him all the time.

I have a lop mix (I suspect Holland Lop mix) and he's been incredibly chill, laid-back, greedy and lazy ever since I got him at 3 months old (he's now a year old). Seriously, he flopped the very day I brought him home (and continues to flop several times a day), binkied the very next day, when he got slightly bloated after I started introducing veggies to him he refused to stop eating his hay, and when he leapt out of my arms while I was trimming his claws, ripping one claw clean off, he just licked his bleeding paw a bit then flopped right after. Best of all, when I brought him home from the vet after being neutered, he went straight to his food then fell asleep. He also flicked his feet at me in protest, despite the pain and drugs (he limped away and kicked one back foot at me, he was that determined to express his displeasure!).

Angel is a male dwarf rabbit and is not neutered. He has a lot of attitude. For example he throws his bowl when he doesn't like his food and he pees outside of his litter box when he's hungry. He's a funny bunny 😂🐰💕

My Yuki who is 9lbs is very very lazy bit also very laid back and loves people. She will always come say hello when people come in. She is also a diva and must get her way. I get lots of bunny butt throughout the day.😂 I've had her since she was a month old and she never changed after her spay. On the other hand my 5lb Male is very jumpy and energetic. He takes a while to warm up to people and loves to make Yuki run! I'm not sure of their breeds since they are mixed and were both rescues. But I love them both very much! 🐰🐇💜

My fiancé and I just recently got a black and grey lionhead we named Midnight! She’s only 11 weeks old, so when she is old enough we are going to have her spayed, but oh boy! She’s playful, follows me around the house sometimes, but absolutely hates being picked up (which I know is common with rabbits in general), but once you have her in your arms she’ll relax a bit! She’s always trying to get into places she can’t go (behind the furnace, which we’ve blocked off pretty good)! I never thought I would have a bunny, but my fiancé wanted one, and now I love my little Midnight :)

I used to have a pair of lops. One (Pipkin) was very sassy, energetic and didn’t enjoy a lot of human contact, but the other (Nutkin) was a bit more laid back and didn’t mind being petted, but not too much. I adopted them both when they were 4 and had previously been living at a nursery (you call it pre-school in america I think?) and the children were no doubt a bit rough with them so no wonder they didn’t enjoy being petted much after I adopted them. Nutkin outlived pipkin and she only died in September/October time so it was very sad for me. I am adopting another pair in March but I’m moving bedrooms and building an en-suite for it so I have to wait for construction to finish! I really love my local rescue, they microchip the bunnies for us, neuter/spay them, and get them fully up-to-date on vaccines. Plus the enclosures that the rabbits are kept in are huge and spacious. They only let people adopt pairs and if a rabbit has been brought in on its own then they only let them be adopted if you already own a rabbit.(they do rabbit play dates to ensure they get along!) and they do house checks etc before you adopt them. :)

Vaccinations in rabbits are not required in the states and I wish rescue places here kept them in large spaces, they are kept in small cages about the same size as the ones they keep cats in, although they will often put more then one rabbit in the same cage together.

  • @nancytoler8069

    @nancytoler8069

    5 жыл бұрын

TheGreymanWalking Oh really? It’s advised for rabbits to be vaccinated here. That’s probably because most people keep their rabbits outside in hutches, even though there are still dangers it’s a lot safer to keep rabbits outside in England than the US. (No extreme temperatures for the most part, no coyotes or many predators at all..). The cats at this rescue are also kept in large enclosures which are more like rooms, so I don’t really know what you mean! Even the Guinea pigs have huge areas the same size as the rabbit’s.

I have 2 harlequins. Super social, curious, and kind. They enjoy attention, but will give a “love bite” when they’re done being held. 😄 Things they don’t like: being transported, being carried downstairs, and being lowered to the ground from a standing position - I have to squat all the way down, and then release them from there. Things they like: interaction, FOOD, willow branches, cardboard box tunnels, bananas, and rose petals.

I have 2 rabbits, a lop mix and a Dutch rabbit. My Dutch rabbit is the sweetest most laid back and cuddly rabbit, while my lop likes to run, and binky. She tries to escape the run whenever I’m not looking 😂

I adopted my boy bun from a shelter where he wasn't being taken care of properly, and he's the most laid back bunny ever. I think he's a bit nervous, but he's super sweet once he's bonded with you. I got my girl bunny from a local rabbitry because I wanted a specific kind of bunny. She's a purebred BEW mini rex and she lives up to it. As a baby she would lick up and down my arm, all over my hands, and my face. She immediately adapted to her environment and was super friendly and we were bonded within two weeks I swear 😁. Onyx Edgar is my boy, He's all black with brown eyes. Rosalie Opal is my all white and blue eyed girl. Ying-yang. ❤ Even their names, Onyx is a semi-precious stone and his middle name is a regular name but with meaning. Rosalie's first name is a regular name, but her middle name is a semi-precious stone.

Yeah, bunny breed really doesn't tell much about their personality :' D I have two lionheads that came from the same breeder and they're like night and day. My older neutered male is the lazier of the two, he also doesn't like people and he's not that social with us, he will run after us if we have treats tho. He's the type of bunny who will grunt at you and hit you with his front paws whenever you try to do something with him, but he has never bitten me. He will still tolerate being handled but he clearly doesn't like it and after you let him go he will make it clear. He also tried to attack our dogs in the past before he was neutered. My younger female is the complete opposite, she's always running around and climbing on our furniture or windows. She's also really social and she's the only bunny I've seen who doesn't mind being picked up. Whenever you go sit on the floor she will come say hi and see if you have any treats. She doesn't seem to be afraid of anything and she will often run over or under my dogs, she also doesn't mind when they sometimes try to lick her (but her fur sure gets really messy after that) She also flops A LOT, whenever I see her she's either running around the house or flopping and ready to take a nap.

I have a silver marten! I adopted her and at first she hid in her hide house all day! They she started taking treats from me! Now when I come into the room she looks for me!she flops all the time and is such a love bug, she doesn’t have to much energy compared to some I know and is very neat and tidy.

I also think an important criteria is that some breeds are more prone to illnesses (i.e. lops with ear infections) or more difficult to care for (i.e. long-haired breeds need to be brushed) which is definitely something to think about. Also with longer hair shedding is more visible, so if that's annoying for you, maybe better choose a bunny with short fur. I have a mini lop lady: curious, stubborn, mischievious, dominant and territorial but also very cuddly, loving, sweet and kinda fixated on me (and a little on my flatmate - which might be playing into the territorial thing, we are her humans). She definitely flops a lot and is grooming everything, people and furniture. I wouldn't say she's lazy but definitely more relaxed. The other one is a lionhead mix: shy but curious, super energetic. Way more elegant than the lop too. He's also very smart and loves intelligence toys. But even so, he isn't too keen on exploring but prefers to stay in his safe zone. But he goes along with the lop's stupid ideas and so they are both little troublemakers. He's the more easygoing one though, very laid back if easily spooked. (edit: we're not entirely sure about the breeds cause they are both rescues but those are our guesses and our vet said the same.)

God, I love rabbits. They are the cutest. I could just watch them play and do their thing all day. Also I think I have either a Himalayan or California mixed rabbit :) His ears are a bit shorter and his weight/size is in between the normal weights/sizes for these two breeds (Himalayans upper end weight is 4 lb and Californians lower end weight is 8 lb, but my rabbit is 6 lb), so that's why I believe he's mixed. I love him so much. He's very sweet, but strong-willed. He's not a fan of most strangers at first. He's extremely brave and a trooper even when he has to go to the vet. He is impatient and likes things to be right on time. He's curious, but cautious. He just all around makes my heart happy. I've had him since he was a baby and I have such a close relationship with him and it just feels amazing. I wouldn't care no matter what his breed was, he is my Blizzard and he is uniquely him
