Honestly, all basses sound good. It just depends on the mix and the vibe you want. You can hardly go wrong with any option

I prefer StingRay basses but in these demos I preferred the Jazz Bass.

Actually, any bass fits if it sits in mix the way you want it to. Depends on what are you looking for in overall sound. I'd pick a PJ or JJ bass, to have a nice low end and cutting through attack.

Even without watching i can say that Precision can do this all!

J for everything but modern rock. Stingray for that one. I listened to this because I've got a J and a P and I'm changing up my sound. I like to play the P, but the J is just better for some sounds.

It can also depend what the other guitars are in a mix. If you've got a bunch of really dense Les Pauls, a Jazz can cut through the mix. If the guitars are thinner, a P can support them. I've never been to a show where the bass player was playing a Stingray and thought that I couldn't hear the bass. The Thunderbird also sounded really good in all contexts, but I've never taken it upon myself to bother with one, given all the more ergonomic choices.

I liked every bass except the thunderbird :)

I'll take the P bass!

I play a stingray just becauS i had one gifted to me. I actually have a squier paranormal rascal coming in that im excited to punk it up with.

To my ears, the PB cut easily through the mix. I like the JB and the Stingray too. Can I take this 3 basses ?

There wasn't a single instance that I preferred the P-Bass. I felt the Jazz did the best work on all of them except the last clip which the Thunderbird won. Just my preference of course.

As long as it's played with a pick.... everyone of them! 🤘

J bass sounded best imho

P Bass sounds clearly, deep and powerfull.

Pick is cool, but why no fingers style in this demo ?

Jazz bass wins in the first song. In the second song Precision. Song number 3 Stingray. I like them all because they sound different.

So my unpopular opinion. P bass is too gritty and lofi, stingray is too muffled and the jazz bass hits the amp just right when clean. But when you get higher gain the stingray sounds better.

In my opinion, no 1 it’s Pbass, no two MM.

Nothing growls like a P Bass.

That guitar sound is so bad I can't concentrate on the bass sound. Sounds like an electric drill. ☹

Thunderbird was best, followed by pbass... but the music man sounded awful
