For whatever reason the charismatic crowd has called what the Holy Spirit does anointing, they are using the word anointing for two reasons one to show themselves set apart from the body of Christ. This can’t be because we are one in Christ the body needs all of the members to function no member is any greater than the other members. Particularly in the word of faith movement it is a matter of status to say that you have been anointed to preach a certain message and so on. The second reason I believe is that it has become in the Charismatic world the social norm to label certain things that the Holy Spirit is doing as anointed or anointing. In researching what the anointing is, and thank you so much for this video I wish I would’ve found it in the beginning of my research it would’ve saved me a lot of time, but in my researching I believe that when a minister says they feel an anointing that it is simply, which it’s not simple but it is the power of the Holy Spirit that is giving them the ability to do what they are doing in ministry. It feels different and so we’ve come to know that as the anointing. I would hope that there could be a correction made in the use of the word anointing. No one person is anointed more than another person when we are believers. There are times when the Holy Spirit will empower someone to be able to stand and preach or sing or teach in a way that the believer could not do that in their own power and will. So the next time that you hear someone say that that preacher Is anointed and that’s how he preaches so well maybe you could tell them that it’s the power of the Holy Spirit that is helping them preach so well.

The annointing is the REVELATION of the spoken word and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This is what the christ is. The anointing IN YOU is the hope of glory.

Interesting. I feel like I see what you’re saying but do you have any verses to help support this?

To justify the charismatic anointing scriptually, ironically they have to resort to the KJV translation of isaiah 10:27, even Oesteen uses the KJV translation for the unbiblical experience.

Today it's the receiving of the Holy Spirit, when you accept Christ as your Savior. He gives of you, His Spirit... that will reside with YOUR spirit.. That is the anointing today. It WAS the cymbal of the Holy Spirit, in the Old Testament.

The anointing of YHWH is his logos/rhema via his spirit. Gods logos/rhema is the wisdom of God whichbis the light that overcomes the darkness. Rev. 3:21, Rev. 21:7. We are the annointed and chosen of God to save the lost. James 5:20. The first-born of the seed of David. Jer 33:22, Psalm 18:50. Yhwh is the Father of LIGHTS meaning as in MANY. Not just one.
