tl;dr: thca is basically the precursor to delta-9thc. federal law defines marijuana as anything with an excess of 0.3% d-9thc. if your product has thca, it needs to be heated (decarbed) and it will turn into d-9thc and a bit of other cannabinoids. as long as your product has less than 0.3% d-9thc, it is legally defined as not marijuana and therefore federally legal.

@@markdavis9176 this isn’t Cbd, what they’re basically saying is THCa is the precursor to THC , so while THC is illegal THCa is legal because it hasn’t gone through the chemical reaction called decarboxylation where THCa turns into THC , Decarboxylation occurs when THCa meets heat , so in all reality THCa is legal until you smoke it consuming D9 which is regular old weed , the farm bill basically made a back door legalization under hemp , so you can order THCa flower , concentrates , or even crystals right to your doorstep and it’s the same exact thing basically as what you would get from a dispensary more or less as THCa is just the pure form of THC. THCa has a 86% transition rate Turning into thc , so if you have a 96% THCa Diamond with 4% terpenes( flavor ) when you smoke it ( dab it ) it’s actually 82.56% THC , but it’s pure THC at 82.56% which is ridiculously potent and strong

The conversion rate is 88.7% of the amount of THCA in the flower. Example, a flower says 21% THCA, then you would get 88.7% out of that 21% which converts to 18.63% of THC D9 when heated.

I live in Jersey also and almost all websites of the dispensaries I frequent have products with thca that they sell, I can also go to a bodega and buy the thca branded stuff and both options get me stoned.

So if the THCa flower can pass the hemp guidelines because it has to be decarbed before the delta 9 comes out, does that mean what's currently sold as regular THC flower already have the high % levels of delta 9 with out having to be decarbed? When it comes to growing the plants, if you have a certain strain that you see in both the THCa and regular THC markets how does the grower make it be hemp with THCa or have it turn out to be regular THC. (Hopefully that makes sense what I'm trying to ask.)

You are correct. Some Cannabis in legal markets, show the THC and the THCa amounts. In non legal states Cannot exceed .03% but dry weight volume. But in legal states the THC and THCa can be much higher. THCa itself will not get you high until decarbed, but it does have some therapeutic properties as is. Hope this clears up your question.

There's no such thing as "THCa edibles". They use D8 in hemp or "Thca" edibles. D8 thc gives you the same psychoactive effects as D9 thc when it's in consumable edibles but not when it is smoked or vaped. You will fail a drug test if you consume a D8 edible as well. So be aware of that.

What are these growers doing different to get THCA flower that is okay for legal states when compared to growing just your normal flower? I under stand what THCA is and why it is legal but how is it created differently than normal weed?

It is harvested early before all the trichomes have went from clear to milky and it also seems to lack hairs on the bud. They pick it prematurely trichomes become milky because it protects the plant from sunlight and most of the high we want comes from the THC crystals. Thca is a scam. To me it's the equivalent of smoking mids.

Amber colored jars help prevent the process. But yes. Exposure to heat and light can definitely change cannabanoid levels and content.

I am talking about stuff you will find in california, netherlands, etc. As soon as you smoke THCa it swaps to THC. So THCa buds are almost identical to what you get in places who legalized weed.

Honestly, there are no licenses or requirements in NC or most Hemp only states. Seller and buyer beware. Most of us have testing done to protect ourselves and our consumers.

Usually 30 days. It depends on many factors. Metabolism, weight, activity, etc all effect how long THC remains detectable. There is "fetish" urine sold at Crowntown as well as many other smoke shops that can assist on passing drug screenings. I’m not new to THCA (diamonds) but now every delta8 site supposedly has 30% THCa “hemp” strains and I know real trees are mostly thca anyway and that most people think that this is just type 1 high strength cannabis. That is how the one I tried feels but it LOOKS like hemp, very fat buds, just doesn’t look anything like regular weed. But tastes, feels, everything else is the same. And different strains etc. what is also interesting is now all those sites are selling regular THCA diamonds for dabbing too

Yeah the buds I found are gonna be a little different probably because they have to selectively breed them to have low THC. It was still sticky and smelled nice, not quite on par with legal rec on effects, looks, or smoothness but maybe there’s better stuff out there. It may also be worth it to further cure it yourself and get a smidgen of decarb along with that

That sounds like THCa Crystalline. We will have that as well. But we are seeing the market go towards the flower mostly. It's an incredible "high." Almost like a "creeping buzz" that intensifies after use.

No brother, delta 8 is found naturally in weed but not enough to harvest for steictly delta 8 so they process CBD into delta 8 artificially, on the other hand THCA is naturally occurring and is not "processed" from cbd its just in the plant already

THCA is naturally found in more abundance naturally. Delta 8 is far less available and is usually converted in a process from CBD. THCa is non active Delta 9 THC. The way its activated by heating or decarboxylation.

I live in Louisiana and buy my weed off the streets in Baton Rouge. I have a plug who is legit that I've been doing business with for years. Every time I get weed from him it's good. I've messed with a couple other cats that are selling what looks and smells like good weed but it doesn't get you high. This last bag I got was straight trash. It hardly had a smell when I bought it. I figured it had lost terps from being poorly kept. It looks good, purple and light green and what looks to be trichromes sparkle in the light. Or so I thought. First I noticed it wasn't crispy dry but it crumbles down really fine. On first toke I noticed it tasted like smoking stems. I mean not even some old school Reggie taste way weaker. I smoked 3 grams first time and nothing. I wonder what's going on in the weed game in these illegal states. I know I got jacked and I've thought about retaliation but ultimately it will solve nothing for me. In the bottom of the bag there was a lot of kief and that's what gave a slight buzz. I think it's hemp with D9 kief. Any insight would be appreciated.

TN here, my plug has been inconsistent here too. Used to be good, fresh, terpy lots of blue and gassy. Now its dry, not crumbly but there is almost no stickiness to it and it smoked harsh. It barely got me high and I always buy zips so I was stuck with these last 3 bags cause I wanted to give them another chance. Just picked up some of this THCa stuff at a local shop, and although a little more pricey at 60/7g vs 40 from my plug, it’s definitely better quality.

Try taking a tolerance break, or maybe try concentrates, or edibles. When you consume THC it's is converted to 11-Hydroxy-THC when processed in the liver. This is normally a much more intense "high."

You need to do some research before you post again.

Honestly it doesn't get me really that stoned and it only gets me Stony for like a half hour then you gotta smoke again... Hope this is the stepping stone to real federal legalization
