Hi Steph! I'm a newer faculty with NCU's MFT Doctoral Programs and you're a bit of a legend here...I thought I'd take a moment to check out what all the buzz is about, and sure enough, your reputation precedes you. This is quality stuff and I LOVE that you're creating these free resources for folks interested in MFT--and doing so in such a fresh, engaging manner. Appreciate the work you're doing--keep doin' work! 💪

Hi Dr V., You were my first professor at NCU. Small world! I agree with you she is amazing! Maria Driscoll student NCU MAFT
I just had to come and tell you that because of the information you put in your video, I was able to grasp and apply and PASS my MFT national exam. I had two weeks to go and was growing very frustrated because I didn't feel like I was getting anything and then I came across your videos and I felt like a lightbulb went off in my head. I just want to say Thank you so much and GOD Bless you in everything you are doing.
Those videos from the 90's that the MSW programs use just make it so hard to learn anything! This was such a lifesaver!
I just started my Masters in Social Work and needed help really understanding some theories I am currently learning. Your video has helped me tremendously and it is so easy to understand! I appreciate your channel. Thank you for sharing.

I’m so glad that it’s been helpful for you!
I am studying for my licensing exam as a psychologist, and I have been struggling with the family therapy questions on my practice exams. I've had pretty limited contact with family therapy models, and the descriptions I have been prepping with are super bland. The videos in this series are SO helpful - you make the theories come to life. I'm definitely going to be doing some more reading to further explore this world... once I've recovered from this exam hah
This was such a clear description of the theory. I really appreciated how you put it in the context of classical v. post-modern and shared the strengths and challenges based on our current understanding of culture and family.
I'm studying for my LMFTA licensing exam right now and I'm so thankful you created these videos!!! The perfect audio and visual supplement to my studying. Thank you for caring enough to share about these models so thoroughly!!
This has been so helpful with allowing me to really understand this form of therapy, as well as other forms of family therapy as I’m studying for my LMSW exam - thank you for this!
Hi there! I am a fellow vlogger but also an online student at GCU working toward a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Being online doesn't afford the benefit of a human lecturer. So this video overview was incredibly helpful! Thank you so much!
Im currently in graduate school to become a marriage and family therapist. I really enjoy courses and I have a bachelors degree in psychology. I feel like becoming a LMFT is the right career choice for me.
Studying for my LSW exam, you explained this better than anyone ever!! Thanks girl!

Hey Steph Anya! Now I definitely fall under the "utilizing therapy to create my best life" group. Meaning I am not a therapist by any means. HOWEVER your breakdown was still simple enough for me to feel comfortable using the different techniques to better my family relationship. Thank you! Keep it up!

Thank you so much you made this easy to understand
Hey Steph Anya. I love, love, love your videos! They are super helpful for my understanding of essential concepts I am learning about in my Master's program. I wanted to reach out to you because I've noticed that some of your videos have background music going while you are talking. For those of us who struggle with hearing loss, background music can make it really difficult to follow what is being said, even when captions are available. Listening fatigue kicks in as one strives to follow and fully understand the words that are heard and read THROUGH the additional noises going on at the same time. I wouldn't want to miss out on all that you could teach me due to this issue. So, I just thought I'd bring it to your attention and hope for the best. As always, thanks for sharing your wisdom with us!
Thank you for this quick overview of Structural Family Therapy. I'm currently an MMFT grad student and I feel like I just don't get a lot of the family systems theories. I watch your videos a lot and they have helped immensely!

Thank you that was very helpful
I greatly appreciate your knowledge as well as your insight on how the family structure was handled during the 1960's-1970's year period....I don't exactly know if it went over my head but during this period the man of the household was primarily a Veteran who served in the Armed Forces during the Korean War as well as The Vietnam War era.....Those individuals suffered a tremendous amount of PTSD which affected the infrastructure of the common, American household...just to make a note of that my dear.
Thanks for doing this video. I am rewatching it but it feels like I am watching it for the first time. This model is the one that always gets me and on the practice tests I've done I always struggle with this one and strategic. I'll be taking my AMFTRB exam next week so this video along with the other resources I am using, is helpful.
