Sovereignty is one of the most important concepts in political science. Sovereignty is the most important characteristic of the state. There can be no state without sovereignty. Aristotle defined sovereignty as “Supreme power in the state”. In the same way, Jean Bodine defines sovereignty as “The supreme power over citizens and subjects unrestrained by law”. In terms of its attributes or characteristics, sovereignty has seven attributes. They are absoluteness, indivisibility, permanence, unity or exclusiveness, inalienability, imprescriptibly, all comprehensiveness or universality. The detail of these is given in the video.
