A man collecting scrap used to come around with a cart pulled by a donkey and stopped in front of our house, but the donkey refused to move on. Out of desperation the man got some rags from the cart and put them under the donkey and set alight to them hoping this would move the donkey on. The donkey moved a few paces forward until the cart was over the burning rags. Fortunately my mother threw a bucket of water over the rags and put them out. She said to the man, it serves you right.
