Actually, donkeys are pretty adventurous as long as they are able to take a minute to take in their surroundings (or longer) they just don't dive into things NEVER force a donkey to do something as like you said they have good memories and will remember that and won't trust you

Other facts... 1. Donkeys are fun, smooth and reliable to ride, if properly conditioned and trained, and make excellent show animals. They cost less to keep, live longer than horses and accrue fewer veterinary bills than horses 2. Donkeys and mules are underused and usually not even considered by people wanting to purchase equines 3. Donkeys are clan animals and need the company of other donkeys. They should never be housed alone with horses or mules, since the horse or mule always dominates the donkey. 4. Donkeys love deeply and are very loyal to owners who take the time to train and ride, drive or show them. They thrive on love and appreciation 5. Donkeys have different anatomy than horses and you should get a vet who knows the differences Thank you for the informative video. I own three donkeys, one of which is my primary mount, and can attest to their intelligence, ability to love, and their amazing humor.

Yes, they will sometimes stay out in a light rain and get soaked. They look pathetic, but I think they enjoy it. I'm in Florida, so no snow here. When it gets real cold, down to freezing once in a while it doesn't seem to bother them.

@@Vic-lk1zq yes they look funny when wet. Specially when they still have the winter coat. I don’t know if this is the case in your climate zone, but here they get like a thick fur with funny hairstyles in the winter. Now their hair is short and glibly smooth.

@@listomoto You could try researching the topic independently of this video before immediately dismissing its claims. Just saying, these animals can live for 40 years, the idea that they might have some natural capacity to remember things for long periods doesn't seem unlikely to me. And it wouldn't be that difficult to test either, just train them to do a simple task that will immensely reward them in one area, cease with the activity after recording it return to it a year later, then 2 years later etc and then you would get a base idea for what their memory capacities are like. That's my understanding as to how a lot of these things tend to be studied as towards animal cognition specifically memory.
