What is Second Moment of Inertia and How is it Calculated?

In this video we introduce the second moment of area / inertia and its significance in the behaviour of a structure, learning how to determine the second moment of inertia for a region relative to a centroidal axis, and we finish by introducing the Parallel Axis Theorem and seeing how we can use this to compute the second moment of inertia for complex regions.

Today, I am grateful for people like you who share their expertise so freely. My (paid for) university textbook doesn't come close to explaining this as well as you. Thank you kindly.

I think it's because the standard fomular for stress is force/area hence KN/m²
