Transcript: Roodkapje is an exhibition venue. We have artists in residency. Events that are focused on experimental and alternative art. Roodkapje is a cultural venue, yeah, art platform extraordinaire. And we are also an event space. Actually a kind of melting pot, where of all kinds of things come together. Slightly chaotic coziness. When someone comes in here for the first time, then I hope you feel like you discovered something crazy. That you think: hey, what is this freaky place? What...? What is this...? Roodkapje does focus on art. But we are also trying to stretch the definition of that a little bit, shed a different light on it. For us, a burger can also be art.
The Burgertrut is a restaurant. It's actually a bit lik Roodkapje's canteen. What makes the food at Burgertrut so special, is that a lot of love and care went into the creation of the menu. So most of the things we have here are homemade. We are also the kind of place where creative people can come together to share their passions and to eat good food together and see beautiful things.
Roodkapje has a residency program which includes five artists every year and we call it the Hamburger Community. And that actually forms a residency collective that for one year... Where they organise eight happenings or perform themselves. That is up to them. These artists in the Hamburger Community come to be a part of the community of Roodkapje which consists of about 120 people who are actively involved: volunteers, staff, cooks, floor managers. And actually almost everyone is, besides working here, also an artist, musician, designer. And we know that very well about each other. What all of us can do. And we also always make sure that connections arise in that.
