UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. It has three parts, the Prelims exam, the Main exam and the Personality test, which you need to clear in order to become an IAS or IPS officer. All other Group A services of the Government of India recruit people through the UPSC Civil services exam itself and because of this, there is a lot of competition in this exam. Hence, your UPSC preparation should be strategic, informed and well planned.
Your UPSC preparation should not be based on blind adherence to any program. Rather you should give a thought about how your are preparing. The best way to go forward is to study the blogs and tips given by previous year toppers about how to go about UPSC CSE for all three stages of UPSC Prelims, UPSC Mains and the Personality test also known as the UPSC Interview, and then make your UPSC preparation strategy accordingly.
Doing static subjects like polity, economy, environment, geography and history for your UPSC preparation is a solid bet to increase your chances of clearing this exam. But this must all be supplemented by current affairs for best effect.

Sir can I ask you one thing ? I am in final year of my Graduation . Next year I can sit for upsc , as an appearing final year candidate . But graduation me zyada pressure hone ki wajah se main prepare nahi Kar paaya upsc 2024 ke liye. Abhi tak kuch bhi prepare nahi kiya. Prelims will happen in last week of may 2024. Hi sir, i have a doubt. I come from a bi-religious family. My grand father was an hindu where as my grandmother was a christian. Apparently they named my Father with a christian name. But he's basically hindu by certificate and stuff. Whenever i say my father's name, i'll be asked whether i am a christian. And I am tired of explaning everyone. I think i am gonna get this question in my interview too😉. But sir will this be a problem? I am really having nightmares about this. Please do reply sir.
Also who gets posting in govt institution like SAI after not clearing interview.. what's the criteria and procedure for that ?

The thorough background check doesn't only happen in upsc but also in other exams like banking. One of my friend who cleared bank PO didn't get his name in the final list bcoz they failed to pay house loan EMI but later they settled the payments and even after that their CIBIL score was affected.

I think something is missing in your explanation. Total no. of vacancies in 2022 was 1022 and final list included only 933 candidates . That's why exact 89 reserve list.

Since he himself fudged his OBC certificate to OBC NCL despite being Creamy layer candidate. He is witholding information and not sharing info imoartially here.
In ews catagory cse 920 marks 3 marks less from cutoff 127 reserve pending any chances

Separate FC is conducted for these people along with others who have taken EOL (extra ordinary leave) to prepare again.

No. This alternative FC is usually conducted in other institutes. Sometimes in case of a lot of delay it can also be done in private institutes such as HIPA.

Sir, I am SC candidate & wants to appear in UPSC CSE 2025. But in 2021 I joined Merchant Navy as an officer & my annual income is decent. Sir would you advice to appear with SC reservation or should I take my candidature as GENERAL ?

Sir, I am a lawyer and out of curiosity I checked the pending case. This is really sad that they are delaying it so much. As far as I can tell the government s logic is completely flawed and they don't have any valid ground to treat psu employees like this. Really hope that the case is disposed as soon as possible and the judgement comes in your favour.

Inka OBC NCL certificate Invalid thha. He was Considered OBC CL and in that category he did not clear cutoff for last person required for filling it in CRL(Consolidated Reserve list)

Don't misguide, you fudged Your OBC Certificate to OBC NCL despite being Creamy layer, which DoPT found out after background check and you were not given any service, and rightly so, i have seen your case. Stop being crybaby, when did you get rank? What rank? Why did you not get any service? Itne meritorious thhe toh 6 attempt bina exhaust huye service paa jate, UPSC prep. Channel na chala rahe hote

maan lete hai obc me total 50 seat hai par total obc 65 qualify karte hai jisme se 15 ne general se qualify kiya hai...ab maan lete hai jo bhi obc me rank 1 use bhi department lene ke liye apne obc seat ka use karna padta hai..(kisi obc candidate ne general cutoff se qualify kiya..matlab qualify karne me usne general ki seat use ki..magar department lete time acha department mile uske liye usne apni category ki seat use ki..) to aise sabhi usse niche wale obc candidate jinka bhi general se qualify hua magar wo seat ke liye apne category ka hi use karenge...tab to total obc ke 50 seat use hogaye...tab jo baaki niche ke 15 candidate bache obc wale..unke liye to seat bachi hi nhi..to unhe department kaise allot hoga
