What is p-value? How we decide on our confidence level.
Understanding the definition of p-value guides us in setting the level of confidence we want, which in turn gives us alpha - the significance level. Check out "Why we say Fail to Reject the Null" • Why do we say Fail to ...

Out of all the videos watched on KZread about the p-value, this is the only one I've seen that actually allowed me to understand. Thankyou.
That was fantastic. I've never seen it so well explained. Thank you so much.

LOL! Great vid
Thanx!!!!Amy
Wow !!!
Everything went smooth except how can a coin be heads on both sides? unless it was a prop coin just for this experiment, only the can a value for p begin but logically if one knows its a regular coin it nulls the experiment.I guess the assumption of a fair coin is what gives it existential value it is also true with life.
yeah...pretty good. What is the chance other people will like this video?
good explanation

amazing
the part that still bothers me is that i equate the confidence level with the null hypothesis; like i am confident that the null is true. However, in the video the dude says "i am 97% confident the coin is not fair" which goes against the null hypothesis. So do I just have this backwards and the confidence level trying to prove the null is incorrect?
@TheStatsFilesDawnWrightPhD

Actually, the confidence level is about not making a mistake in rejecting the null, e.g. we want only a 5% chance of rejecting a true null, loosely speaking.
Where did they get the Alpha value from?
