Awesome video very easy and comprehensive. THANKS!
Very informative, help me alot with my lecture. Thank you sir.
Thank you. Gave me just the information I was looking for.
thanks for the video. What is l in the "Step-Index Multimode FIber" subplot ? I understand m is the mode but l ?
great information provided , thanks for sharing!
Amazingly simple but accurate
How different patterns are achieved in multi mode fibre if the Laser diodes angle is not shifted ? If there is no change the light should follow the same path right?
What song is at the start of the video?? And thankyou, helped my understanding a lot!
thank you :D !!!!!!!!!! you've helped me a lot!
Very impressive lectures... I really learned a lot from your lectures... I want to learn about MCVD process... Can you help me?
the picture is very clear! thanks!
Excellent !! thanks
Thank you so much sir...
thank u so much it is quite helpful
really helpfull thanks.
thank you
thank u sir.........
In multi mode fibers does each mode have a different wave length and is traveling at a different angle or does each mode have the same wavelength but are traveling at different angles?

Im trying to understand english so much ... Thank u.... tomorrow i have presentation about optical fibre :)
its informative:)
cool stuff
excellent... more please on M-Z optical fiber interference..
Thank you.
thnak you sir
thankyou helpful
grreeaaat!
How is it possible to sustain any coherence with all that scattering taking place?
i understand the core is smaller with single mode so only one path can go straight through but why can't multimode fiber have multiple paths go straight instead of bouncing off the walls of the cable?

+dlucianoify Because in practice, fiber optics cables aren't laid perfectly straight. We just use straight finite elements in order to simplify the calculations and analysis. We try to avoid sharp bends so there's as little signal loss as possible, but at some point the straight(ish) path of the light will interact with the cladding interface and reflect. It's possible to generate destructive interference by modal interaction post-bend, which is just more signal loss we don't want.

Cables need to bend mate.
Can someone please explain how to link single mode fiber to multimode fiber. thanks

You don't. SMOF is designed to carry 1310(LR)nm/1550(ER)nm wavelengths while MMOF is designed for 850(SR)nm. If you mismatch these it'll work on short distances but not optimally. This is a neat page for matching up your fibre with your optic types: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10_Gigabit_Ethernet#Physical_layer_modules
Thanks for your video, can you help send this clip in my mail.
the connection between wave and geometric optics is not clearly explained for me atleast
