Fiber optic cable: Multimode vs Single-mode
Today my topic is fiber-optic cable. Specifically, I will talk about the structure of fiber cable, single mode fiber, multimode fiber, and their major differences. I will also compare the fiber-optic with twisted pair in terms of benefits and drawbacks.

great job sunny and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
I am going to take Net+ next week and I was really worried if they asked me 'What duration of time should you wash your hands to avoid COVID?" on the test. Now I know and I feel a lot less anxious. Thanks Sunny Classroom!
Thanks fiber explained in a very simple way. Genius
Very good explanation, thank you very much!
Thank you so much sir for the informational video. The covid reference and the tip on washing hands was grat as well!
Thank you very much! Very helpful explanation of the basics !!
Thank you Sunny for your useful information video for Multimode vs Single-mode Fiber Optic Cable
I wish I would have found you earlier, the use of pictures and bullet points is great for my style of learning.

Well explained. I have a question, I'm living in prefab building and Fiber is available there. Can it run to the switch somewhere so I can use my UTP cable as I have it now to my router which matches the speed? Am I able to do it by myself without a technician entering my flat?

Yes you can however you would need two fibre converters for youre network.
Hi there , you didnt mention how much is maxium speed & distance support on Multimode Single-mode ? thnx
Hi Sunny, thanks for the excellent explanation! Could you recommend some books to introduce how the internet works in the whole picture?

computer networking a top-down approach
So mode just means a different path right and has nothing to do with wavelength? So for example if I have a single mode fiber and have rays of different wavelengths all traveling along a straight path down the fiber. Because the only path is a straight line and even though there’s multiple wavelengths of light, we still just have one mode correct? Now if I have rays of different wavelengths or all of the same wavelength but are traveling along the fiber at different paths I have multiple modes. It’s the different paths which makes this a multi mode case not the the fact that there rays of different wavelengths right?
Great sir
Sonny is a good teacher

Coax over Docsis 3.1 can transfer download speeds of 10 GBit and upload speeds of 1 GBit. How does fiber compare to that?
Hello, can anybody explain what is difference between unitube and multitube....
Hey what happened with the music at the end? :(
sir, can you please upload videos on trust and backdoor , cryptocurrency
thanks sir. i'm student can i get some courses about single mod fiber & multi-mode fiber
happy birthday sunny x2
happy Birthday to you and be save.
I have to say in practice basically no one uses Multimode anymore. Singlemode has become pretty cheap and with WDM you can transfer a lot of channels over the same fiber at speeds of up to 100Gbit/s. So even if you've got a 100m run between two buildings I'm still using singlemode cable.

I would say that's largely true, however, the LR xcvrs are still multiple times more expensive than SRs, and that can easily add up over hundreds of connections. Not only that, but if you use LRs at very short distances, because of the higher power, the xcvrs can burn each other out. In other words, they have to be replaced more often. Sometimes for simplicity (not having to stock MMF equipment) companies will elect to go pure SMF (or close to it), but this is not without its (primarily financial) drawbacks.
Enable Network in VirtualBox but disable in Host ?? Is this possible ?
thankyou for the useful video. ur accent very funny i laugh 2 and half times
How kilometer is defined as short and long?
Hello i have a question about symmetric key , i saw your video and u said we use private key but i found in other videos that we use public key , is that right or no ?
@sunnyclassroom24
4 жыл бұрын
A symmetric key is a private key in private encryption. The public key encryption uses Public key and private, but public key and private key are inseparable twins.
@Arganoid
4 жыл бұрын
When you connect to a secure website, public key (asymmetric) encryption is used to initiate the connection. This encryption is used to send a private key. Then symmetric encryption can be used from that point onwards.
Can u make a video for the people who are new into networking world ( students ) in general and give some tips it'd be very helpful for many

Hello Sir
High loss calculation video pls put

Everything else was very well laid out, but _why_ would multimode be better for short distances? Modern day the stuff costs is practically same, so going for multimode does not give you any benefit... Only if you already have multimode infrastructure and need to expand it, multimode makes sense now.
sunny is funny
was listening until you mentioned covid...that shit done exist dawg. and viruses aint contagious either.

being an IT professional, you should be more accurate with terms and acronyms: the virus is correctly called SARS-nCOV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome causing novel coronavirus type two) and the disease it is causing is dubbed COVID-19 (COronaVIrus Disease first reported in 2019).
